___
Sora hesitating towards opening his front door, complaining and accusing his teachers to not know what they were talking about. He received his report card today, and Sora knew that his Dad was waiting at the door to obtain it from him. He sat down on the stair step, put his elbows on his knees, and dropped his head into them.
"I've got to get over this" Sora said to himself. All the possible outcomes were surging through Sora's Psyche. " I could get grounded, or worse, I won't be able to use the phone or internet."
"Son? Why are just sitting here? Come on in." The beckoning voice of his father said through the door screen.
Sora stood up, and walked into his house. Riku and Kairi were sitting on the couch in front of the television set, awaiting Sora's arrival. They received their report cards as well, and both passed with flying colors. Sora, however, did not.
Sora tried to get away with just walking straight to his room, but his dad, Alan, stopped him.
" Now, Sora, don't you want to show me your grades?" Alan spoke. To Sora, it sounded as though he was Mocking him, with painful words of hate, but he knew better.
Sora set down his backpack, bent over, and started to unzip it. His backpack was cluttered, and not in anyway attractive. He was embarrassed to have Kairi in his presence, looking into his bottomless pit known as his backpack. Sora reached into the bag, and pulled out a clumped up piece of white paper, with black marking on the front, and the Destiny Islands High watermark. He passed it over to Riku.
Riku looked at the piece of paper in disgust. Riku, knowing Sora's crush over Kairi, passed to Alan, who then read it out loud.
"English - B, Gym - A, Geometry - F Science - F, Creative Writing - A, Culinary - A, World History - F." Sora ducked his head in shame. "Sora... I expected more from you. You know you can do better than this." Alan looked at him with unfathomable eyes. Kairi, shocked, had her mouth wide open, gasping.
" Riku, Kairi, can you come back later?" Sora asked in a quiet, Monotone voice.
" No, they need to hear this too. Sora, You aren't even trying. An F in world history? Destiny Islands is small! It shouldn't be that hard to learn a tiny worlds history. Sora, I'm very disappointed in you. I'm afraid, I'm going to have to-"
