I have a feeling he is and my suspicion was confirmed by Nomura. As he just said that the mysterious figure is a character we know. He's not necessarily new. It's Terra! And I know why. In one part of the game, I think a trailer or picture says this. YMX says to Riku: I chose you from the very beginning. It makes sense now when you put the pieces together. Terra, who was trapped inside of Xehanort, and parts of him where in Xemnas. When he regained his body, he didn't take the form of his other self, he took the form of a younger Xehanort. Similar to Riku in KH2, who was "inside" of Ansem SoD, he regained his body, but later he took the form of Ansem. This is a weird theory I know, but it kinda makes sense. Everything he says sounds similar to Terra, well at least almost. If I find more, I'll see if I can better this theory.

 

EDIT: Parts of YMX are of Terra. That's what I should say. Not all of YMX!

2. Therefore we donot know if he says it to riku. there is no riku in the picture and he is not mentioned in the sentence...

 

 

for the rest yeah as i said i think you are pretty close. moreover the setting is the releam of sleep .. maybe he donot even have to gain his body back etc ...

I think Nomura was refering to the fact that he was a secret boss in BBS and the fact that he's a Young Master Xehanort.

I know im gonna get hate for this but....Although MF looks like a young MX i still cant help seeing Isa in him .We dont know whats happened to him yet .Famitsu just confirmed Lea and MF being major characters..Could this be Isa? Nomura could definitely do this and thats why he didnt confirm that MF is definitely a young master Xehanort just someone who indeed looks to be.. This would only work if we knew the extent of MFs time manipulation powers though so im not positive of this possibility just throwing the possibility out there.Just sayin' Going out on a limb here...

Im not saying its wrong either.Its a definite possibility. I just think if Riku knew the story of the boy leaving i would also think he wouldve heard if he was family too. As for the vision it could just be a reference to both wanting to leave the island or even a premonition of Rikus future possessment by MX

Sorry if this is off-topic, but I have a question. How do you know Japanese? The reason I ask is because I'm going to Japan in a year as a 両学生 (International exchange student). How did you learn, did you go to college, and if you did, was it a minor? How long would it take to learn as much Japanese as you. I only know Hiragana, Katakana, VERY little kanji, and VERY little grammar. Thank you!

I have tried Tae Kim's guide. I don't get what you mean by learning by hearing, as you need to know what the word being said means first, I'll ask you about that later. You're an N2, wow that's good, but did that guide teach you everything? I mean, how could you possibly just teach yourself, what other guides are there?

 

For all that don't know: You're ranked for your Japanese language level. N5 is the least knowledge and N1 is fluent. Being N2 or N1 is my dream. So, I suppose you took the test?

 

I don't know which city I'm going to. It's decided once you get there.

Good theory, but I personally don't think YMX is Terra. He has that air of malevolence about him that just doesn't fit Terra. He seems to be causing trouble for Sora and Riku, and Terra wouldn't cause trouble, if anything he would help the heroes in their mission. I still think the mysterious young man = Master Xehanort in the dream realm, due to the fact that both Sora and Riku are younger versions of themselves. But this is merely speculation based on appearance, and only time will tell.

I don't think the screenshot says "I chose you" but "You were the chosen one, from the very beginning" Meaning he was the true Master of the Keyblade as we've seen. They wouldn't give that away so quickly.

I kinda have to agree with both Terra and Isanort theories.

The only way he could know is if he had some sort of memory from Terra. But he does use Saïx's body model, and when I look at him he does look a lot like Isa. We'll have to wait and see.

i haf to disagree with this. I think MF meant that he chose riku from the beginning to complete some sorta mission to him, but since riku refused it might be that MF then uses Sora instead as we can see him unconscious at Where Nothing Gathers. I think thats what it is.
