so, because I did poorly on one Algebra test, my teacher assigned me to go to the Math Center after school. Normally I wouldn't care, he's the teacher, he knows what he's doing, blah blah blah.

but seriously:

1) I'm not failing the class. I'm not even close to failing the class anymore; I got a 97 on the last test and am positive I got an 80 or better on the one we took today.

2) It isn't even that I didn't understand the concept; I wasn't feeling that well the day I took the test, I hadn't gotten much sleep that night so my brain completely died on me. Seriously, I got almost all of the homework for the unit almost 100% correct (although it's not like he'd ever bother to check) and when I didn't it was usually just some stupid mistake.

and what really irks me is that he didn't even bother to help me with anything. instead of actually doing his job and going over the little things I didn't know in class (we usually get ~30 minutes to get started on our hw at the end of class, so it's not like there wasn't time) he just signed me up for this and told me to suck it up. yeah. thanks. I really appreciate it.

Well that sucks

Do you have to go? You can't be forced and I know this may not be a food advice but tell him what you just said now. If he doesn't change his mind then say sorry but I don't think I need to go. Walk out of that door like you own him (jk)

Do you only have to go once? It won't be so bad if it's just a one time thing. Just have them go through the test with you to fix mistakes, maybe get help with your homework that day, then boom. Done.

But if he's making you do more than that then I say to hell with him. One off day doesn't make you horrible at math. Your teacher should know this.

I'm sorry babe D: He's a moron

I guess see if you can talk him out of it, or maybe even explain the situation to your parents and get them involved. It sounds like they'd be on your side. Good luck<3 or just lie and say you can't do it because every day after school you meet with your paid math tutor who explains things better than your stupid teacher does

Looking over this, I really overreacted; it ended up not being such a big deal after all. I went to the math thing anyways (even though I didn't even need help on anything) and I saw my teacher afterwards and he told me that it was good I went and since my grades had really improved and I didn't seem to be struggling anymore that I should only go when I felt like I needed to.
