Because in order for them to take the mark of mastery, they have to begin anew with their keyblade techniques to learn it the right way. I think..

I watch the Ursula fight, and I keep wondering... why doesn't Ursula just swing her arms? She's bound to knock Sora and Riku off the raft. Ha ha ha ha. Thanks for the post!!!

 

P.S. I take it that Kairi never appears in this game.

I keep wondering why ursula doesnt just eat them. Am I the only one that noticed that the raft grew when ursula picked it up?

Anyways, some idle observations;

Sora seems to be built around Roxas' improved KH1 engine from KH2, though he runs like KH2 Sora.

And the fact that Square FINALLY realized that they can use Disney characters in, you know, relevant positions, instead of recreating their original movies is heartening.

I'd really like to now the context behind Riku summoning Soul Eater. Is he finally settling whether it's a keyblade or not?

Seventeen minutes in, I have heard one new song. What's with all the ports from old games?

Anybody else find it weird that the first playable section is a boss fight, and the second is an unrelated mini-game? Seems like bad pacing to me. It couldn't be that hard to program some solid floors on Destiny Island, and make you walk up to the raft to initiaate the cutscene.

WHY does the drop minigame have Sora in KH1 clothes, then immediately give him a new outfit? What's the point?

The bold actions are a lot less fluid than I expected.

What's with constantly getting items during cutscenes?
