Joint Souls RP

Necessary information:

You can be either a bad guy or a good guy. Good guys are trying to take down an evil guy who summoned a number of "Striders", residents of the Other Realm, a magical world parellel to our own. Bad guys are looking to wreck havoc and defeat the good guys. The Striders he summoned were very beast like. His sister, the only other person able to connect to the Other Realm, used the last of her strength to connect a number of Strider's souls to our world in hopes that they would find humans with souls they were compatable with to join. Her brother did the same to combat her forces. When the Strider's souls connect with a compatable human then the Striders are able to transport to our dimension and the connected human gains enhanced physical ability. They also get either a weapon along with expertise in using it, or a simple magical ability due to being connected to the Other Realm. In times of dire need, a human and their Strider can fuse, becoming more powerful than either individually. Striders must be non-human in appearance and smaller than the average individual. They are supposed to be like a mix between friends and pets. Striders cannot be OCs. Striders can talk, regardless of if their source material can or not (for example, Pokemon).

Backstory, not truly necessary:

There was once a boy and girl, brother and sister, with an uncanny ability. They were connected to the Other Realm, a place of magic, parellel in space and time, in a reality different from our own. They could reach across the gap and communicate with the unique residents there. They were even able to travel to that strange and magical place by connecting each of their souls to the souls of the souls of individuals living in the Other Realm. The two siblings grew up, each with their own ideals, and ultimately found themselves at odds. The sister saw the emotional side of the Other Realm, in that they only way they were able to travel there was by linking their souls with others, and became a teacher in order to invest moral ideals into the modern youth in hopes that it would not only effect our world, but the Other Realm via their invisible connection. While the brother looked into the scientific nature of the Other Realm, he made breakthroughs in science, and strived to find a way to use his mind to bring the Other Realm and his world together. Eventually fame and wealth took its toll on him and he became corrupted. He then organized an event hosting many of the world's elite to come to his lab and observe his newest findings, coaxing them with the promise of wealth and power. It was there that he put his plan into effect, connecting his single soul to the souls of many residents of the Other World whom he had convinced to follow him via the promise of this other dimension to control. The "Striders" as they were now called, due to their striding between the two dimensions, hadn't counted on the adverse effects of linking all of their individual souls to his one. They arrived in this dimension a mere shadow of their former selves, brutes to be manipulated under their summoner's will, while his connection to them gave him access to the magic of the Other Realm. The brother used his Striders to slaughter the world leaders, leading the world into chaos. After discovering this, his sister attempted to stop him, but was overwelmed. With the remaining energy she had, she opened up the Other Realm, and pulled some special souls from it in hopes that they would find and bond with people their souls were compatible with. Upon connecting to a person's soul in this reality, the Striders would be able to bridge the gap to this world with none of the negative side effects that accompanied the Striders linked to the brother. By linking to the Striders, the humans became linked to the magic of the Other Realm, manifesting itself either in the form of a weapon or a special ability in addition to over all enhancing their physical ability. Upon discovering what his sister had done, the brother summoned forth key allies from the Other Realm as well, setting their souls off to link with the souls of humans as to hold off his sister's forces. This is the story of their joint souls.

(OOC: Sorry about not starting it up yesterday! It was... busy. Anyway, on to the rp! If you don't know what to do or where to start, I suggest working with others on the thread. Also, if a character of yours has a secret past, ability, or item that may prove to be a game changer later on, please specify it within one of your first few posts so that we can avoid people pulling random mess out at the last second without president.)

Gwen was exhausted, her knees hitting the ground and her breath coming in ragged gasps as sweat covered every inch of her body and made her deep red hair frizz up, but she kept on pushing forward, training ever harder with Escavalier, her companion. "Fool! You'll never best Vallen at this rate. His power is far superior to yours, even with such a gifted knight as I on your side," called Escavalier, trying to rile her up to continue the sparing match between the two of them. He always seemed like he felt that he was better than everyone else and that people should be honored by his presence, but deep down, he had a good heart and a steel will, intent on justice for the death of Vallen's sister, Justine, with whom he had been very close. Gwen stood back up, using her own lance, a weapon gifted to her through her connection to Escavalier and thus the Other Realm, as a cane to prop herself up on before charging at her Strider. She may not like it, but she knew that if she had the power to do something about the atrocities being committed by Vallen, she had to do everything in her power to stop him.

Blitz lay in the hospital bed, Sonic impatiently pacing back and forth while Blitz was being bandaged. Maybe it hadn't been the best of ideas to rush in and attack those other Striders after running ten miles straight as fast as Blitz could go, which was considerably faster than most humans ever since he'd met Sonic, but considerably slower than Sonic's blazing speed. Blitz's shoulder still hurt like hell, but he considered it his own fault for being reckless and over estimating his skill in relation to that of the Striders. The nurse who had been bandaging up his shoulder seemed more okay with Sonic being there than most people seemed to be, something both of them were thankful for. Another lady came up and tapped the nurse on the shoulder, getting her attention and whispering into her ear. The nurse beamed, smiling brightly as if she were seeing a sunrise for the first time. Turning to Sonic and addressing him, something few people ever did unless they were shouting, she said, "Don't worry, we'll have your friend out of here in no time. Better yet, he'll be good as new!" With that, the nurse headed off to the front of the hospital.

Necro had just gotten out of school for the day, having gotten the usual stares of either disgust or awe the entire day. In any case, people avoided him and only stared when they thought he wasn't looking. Necro was fine with it, though. He enjoyed the company of others, but was just as happy watching them from a distance. He met up with his companion, Chop Chop, right outside of school grounds. "My lord," began Chop Chop, bowing, "was your day at 'the school' pleasing to you?" Necro smiled slightly, the fullest extent of a smile anyone ever got from him.

"Oh yes Champion, I believe that people may be warming up to the idea of me. I got only twelve death glares today, while yesterday I had gotten twenty." Chop Chop was disheartened. How could the rest of the world look down upon Necro when all he ever did was help others? The boy had the mysterious power to remove injuries, even illnesses, granted to him upon joining souls with Chop Chop, but still people viewed him as a freak. Some called him "Skeleton Boy" while others thought of him as a "Miracle Child". At any rate, the boy's normal life was over. Chop Chop felt rather responcible, as Necro had been a perfectly normal boy before meeting him, and because admittedly, Chop Chop's appearance was a bit off putting. Necro had handled the burden incredibly well, though, viewing it as a gift that not only did he get this ability with which to help others, but he also gained the best friend he'd ever had.

"To the Hospital to see your mother and remove afflictions, then?" Chop Chop asked. Necro smiled slightly and nodded his head and the two of them headed that way.

Blitz saw the nurse come back into the room, but this time she had a boy, no older than fourteen and no younger than twelve, following behind her. The kid seemed nice, but really reserved. It was then that Blitz noticed something else of far more significance. "Whoa, you've got a Strider too?" he asked. The boy seemed similarly shocked.

"Necro, son, I'd like you to meet Blitz, one of our patients. When I saw that he had an Other Realm companion like you, I immediately offered to look after him. He was injured while trying to save some people from some of that tyrant Vallen's Striders. I was wondering if you might not like to use your gift to heal him up?" Blitz looked confused for a moment while Necro placed his hand over Blitz's wound, a white light seeming to pull the injury from the shoulder to Necro's hand, healing the shoulder as the injury left. Necro smiled and Blitz mumbled out a thanks, they then struck up a conversation as Necro went around healing people, Chop Chop and Sonic talking to one another as well. The nurse looked on as they walked down the hallway, contented that her son now had someone who could relate to him and even be his friend.

Meanwhile, a masked figure with a scythe and a companion by his side gets increasingly closer to his goal, a final confrontation with Vallen to avenge his father, killed in the massacre that started Vallen's reign of terror.

(OCC: So for some reason i can't edit my posts and i got a new idea for my characters, for my good characters ability, Sybil she is able to temperarily take the ability of her enemy, and my evil character, Ebony has speed.)

Sybil sat side by side with her Strider in the small park listening to the ramblings of people going along their ordinary life. She sighed quietly and enjoyed to the that never lastest long. Kirby hopped up and rose up to get a better look. He glanced down at Sybil and she nodded, " More of them..." She stood up and ran down the street to find a a pair of striders wreaking havic on a small shop. She threw her knife pinning one of them to the wall. Do they really have nothing better to do? She wondered to herself as she dodged the attack of the other strider. Kirby soon caught up with her and sucked up the strider's ability catching it off guard. Sybil took the chance to grab her knife and kill it but in the process letting the other free. " Didn't think about that." She muttered and turned to face the remaining strider. After 10 minutes of fighting and Sybil having to use her ability they cleaned the shop up of the damage hoping the owner wouldn't come back before they were finished. " Its like all Vallen is doing right now is being a pest with these striders and all." Kirby nodded his agreement and rose looking over the shop from the cieling, Sybil earned a thumbs up and the ran from the shop so not the be spotted, for some reason they were often mistaken for thieves whenever they tried to help out. The pair walked past the hospital as they looked for some cheap food Sybil got a strange feeling she shoudl go in but ignored it and continued walking.

Ebony sat against the wall of Vallen's safe house, of course it was consantly changing. She looked over at Shadow who seemed as terribly bored as she was. " When is he going to make a move already? Those striders have been doing the dirty work for way to long." She muttered to herself twirling one of her swords keeping her fingers busy. Ebony sighed and stood up, " Well I'm tired of being a stupid little guard, whers the fun in that." She frowned at the thought of Vallen coming out and finding her gone, that would end in her death, she leaned back against the wall and started to wonder what he could possibly be doing in there, planning another attack maybe? She didn't know, Ebony longed for one of the those fools that thought of themselves as heroes to try and challenge her

(OOC: Awright! I get to be third...or fourth if someone else is posting at the same time and happens to manage to get there before me. xD )

Fang and Growlithe were running through the woods, they'd just finished taking out a small band of striders, and were on their way to the next town. "So, any idea on how many people there are like us? You know, with the whole strider-person combo?" Fang asked. Growlithe shook his head and said, "No, but I tell you one thing if they're half as reckless as you started out this world is doomed." Fang laughed a bit, it was true his anger had clouded his judgement before, but now he was smarter and thought of every situation as life or death. Suddenly he stopped. He heard the sound of an English accent, and what seemed to be a girl. "Growlithe...this might be trouble. I don't know what we might find behind this thicket, but whatever it is we need to make sure its a friend not a foe," Fang said softly. "Awright, let me work my magic. Nobody can withstand my adorable puppy charm," Growlithe whispered. He then exited the thicket and saw a strider, and a girl. So he sat down, stuck out his tounge, tilted his head slightly to the left, and gave the cutest puppy dog eyes he could muster. "If they attack me, there is no way in Hell either of them have a soul," he thought.

Drake landed ontop of a strider's head, smashing it into the pavement, and Spyro came walking up behind him. "So, how many does that make?" Drake asked. "This isn't a contest hot head! But it makes me at 15 and you at 12. So....I WIN!!!" Spyro said grinning. Drake looked down disappointed, but then noticed that there were tracks. Not just any tracks, people tracks, and blood. "Spyro! We need to follow these tracks, there might be an injured civillian out here!" Drake shouted, he then immediatly began running along the path. "Yeah, or a trap...either way is good though! Maybe you can catch up to me!" Spyro said laughing. They followed the path for a good long while, and then found themselves infront of a hospital.

The room was cold and dark, just the way Haunter liked it. "You three...we must meet with master Vallen immediatly. We'll get further orders and be on our way," Haunter said darkly. Wreck nodded and said, "Yeah, it's not good to stay in the same place for too long. I learned that in Atlanta, cops almost shot me twice before I made my escape, and I never tried to eat all the icecream in a DQ again." Shade rolled her eyes "What's with that guy? He's such a.." "Pain?" Haunter asked, "I agree completly, but I chose him because he's not afraid to get his hands a little...dirty." Stealth Elf frowned and yelled, "We're wasting valuable time!! Vallen expects a report on our team's success. I'm not going to report late to him again!! Do you even remember what happened last time?" Wreck shuddered the last time they reported in late the group was shoved in a dark room for days...no food, and just the dripping ceiling water to drink. Reminded him of prison, and how he never wanted to go back. "Alright, let's move out people, don't wanna keep the boss waiting!" Wreck said enthusiasticly. The group walked out of the house, but made sure to burn it down like the rest of the town. Just to keep things simple.

Alaster walked through the town with his Strider, Taokaka, or Tao as she liked to be called, float near his shoulder. Tao let out a whine, "Goggle head, Tao's hungry, can we eat?" she asked, rubbing her stomach, "Maybe later Tao," Alaster told his Companion, who whined yet again, "But Tao's hungry now! If you let Tao starve to death I won't ever forgive you!" Her hooded face revealed only her glowing red eyes and a pouting mouth. Alaster laughed lightly, she could be such a child sometimes, "Alright, come on, lets go eat" Alaster said, lighting up his Companion's face, her wide, fang lined smile spread across her face, "Yippeee! Meat buns, meat buns, meat buns!" Tao exclaimed as they walked into the restaurant

( OCC: Who are you talking about with your first character damion strife?)

(OOC: I was talking about Gwen, but pretty much anyone who picked up on it would be great!)

Sarah took another step back, the CRACK of her revolver splitting through the air. The Strider fell to the ground, the girl checking behind her. Grace pinned Gatomon to her chest, nearly sufficating the poor creature. "Sarah! Watch it!" Sarah snapped back to attention, spinning around as another Strider fell on top of her. The SAA flew out of her hands, the Strider's rancid breath feeling as though it were eating away at her flesh. Before she could struggle, the creature was lifted into the air by vines, Palmon hurtling it a good few yards away.

"Thanks!" Sarah pulled herself up, reaching for her gun. She grabbed it, turning around and firing in the blink of an eye. She had narrowly hit the Strider, but that hadn't made the shot any less lethal. The foe met its friend's fate, sinking to the dusty ground. Breathing heavily, Sarah made her way back to her sister, Palmon meeting her there. "Grace... are you... alright?" She barely managed to huff out.

"We're fine. You were really good, Sarah!" The little girl beamed, the Strider in her arms bulging as she squeezed it tighter.

"We may be getting better, but so are Vallen's forces." Palmon reminded them. Gatomon nodded.

"I'm afraid fights may not be as simple as they have been until now. I was about to jump in and help... if I hadn't been catnapped..." The Strider looked up at Grace, a hint of resent in her voice. She loved being there for Grace, but the girl would never let her fight. Fortunately, Sarah was always there for them. Sarah had always been there for her sister, from what the Striders had heard, and nothing about that was going to change.

"Come on." Sarah motioned for them to follow her. "We need to find somewhere to stay the night. That, and we just need some rest." Everyone agreed, Palmon trodding behind her companion as Grace followed with upbeat footsteps.

Cain sneered at the sight below him.The red-haired girl thought she could become stronger by training with her Strider? How can you gain experience in a fight that you can't win? The only way to signify victory was the death of your opponent. "My lord." His thoughts were interrupted by Enkidu, who sat beside him. The wolf was the only one whom's presence Cain didn't take offense to. Most likely because they had so much in common. "Why are we simply standing here? Why do we not destroy them now?"

"Information is the greatest weapon." Cain replied, never looking away from the scene below. "If we know how our enemy fights, we can use that to our advantage."

Enkidu looked between Cain and Gwen in the distance. "How do you know that she is our enemy, my lord?" Cain's momentary silence burned inside of the Strider. No answer was the worst kind.

"Because... everyone is an enemy."

Takeshi and Guilmon were walking around the town. They were putting up fliers for those who want to rise against Vallen, saying to meet them at the pub. Once they placed fliers everywhere, they headed to the pub.

Gwen paused her training for a moment when she saw the adorable puppy. "Awe! How cute are you?" she asked him as the smiled brightly and began petting him.

"Fool!" called Escavalier in a short, pretentious tone. "That is no simple puppy. Do you not feel the heat from within? He is a Strider, a being from the Other Realm who'd traveled to this plain like I, though surely with less grace than the mighty Escavalier had. He is very unlike Vallen's forces however, so we should expect no competition from him, not that it would be anything I wouldn't scoff at, however."

Gwen quickly apologized for her Strider's rudeness, then asked Growlith's partner was anywhere around.

After Necro had healed everyone he could manage for the day at the hospital, he invited Blitz and Sonic to his house, to which they happily agreed. On the way there, however, they noticed the fliers hanging about. "These guys want us to meet at the pub if we want to fight against Vallen? Dang, either these guys are ballsy as all get out, or this thing is a trap," said Blitz, to which Sonic agreed.

"Ya know, I could blur in and out of there in a snap," offered Sonic.

"I think that you and me should definitely pay them a visit," replied Blitz. "Even if it is a trap, we should be able to take out a few of Vallen's forces. If not, then it'd be a great way to gather strength in numbers for the fights ahead. Necro, you and Chop Chop can come with us, but wait a little bit away. I don't know how this is going to go down, so I'd rather not have the one guy I know who can fix me up in no time flat lying injured on the ground beside me."

Necro agreed, so the two pairs of human and Striders headed to the pub. Sonic, finding nothing really wrong in his quick, and I mean quick, sweep of the place, told the others to come in, where he saw a person and Strider waiting.

(OOC: All enemy striders are basically monsters, so just treat them as such. Feel free to invent special striders to fight or base some off of videogame enemies. They can be much larger than five foot, unlike the companions, but they still can't be human like in appearance.)

Drake picked up on the fliers, so he and Spyro headed to the pub. He ordered two shepard's pies, and two large glasses of root beer. He and Spyro noticed the two men and their striders, so he and Spyro moved their food and drinks in their direction. "Top of the mornin' to ya! Did you guys set this up?" Drake asked them in a really good Irish accent.

Fang stepped out from behind Growlithe. "Hey! Sorry about that, I just needed to make sure you guys weren't Vallen's. I'm Fang and this is Growlithe," he said quickly. He was embarassed by how easily the other strider had called Growlithe out on being what he was, but then remembered how easy it was for Growlithe to spot this strider as such. "God, you knew that wouldn't work didn't you Growlithe?" Fang asked. "Yep, I just wanted to pull out my adorable puppy face!" Growlithe answered with a grin.

(OOC: I didn't forget about you Azure Flame, it's just my character Drake is super ADHD, so seeing the two striders with the two people made him have tunnel vision. It's his character flaw.)

Alaster had long finished eating, but Tao was still far from finished, inhalling fresh steamed buns. "Tao want more!" the Strider exclaimed. Alaster laughed at his Companion's appetite. Something caught his eye to his left, on the floor was a flier, one of an interesting topic, the flier was for people who fight against Vallen. Alaster and Tao had fought against the Striders that worked under his control, so he thought that it'd be a good idea to go. Alaster paid for the food and made way for the pub stated in the flier, Tao following close at his heels

(It's ok.)

Takeshi and Guilmon saw the three pairs of humans and Striders enter. They walked over to them and asked "Are you guys here for the meeting too?" Takeshi asked. He was trying to act like he didn't know what was going on, to make sure they were here to take down Vallen and not him.

Drake span around quickly and said, "Yeah! I can't wait to get my hands on that guy! Who do you think called this meeting? I'd like to shake their hand and tell them how boss they are!" Spyro nodded and concluded, "I think this guy made the right call on getting a head hunting party together."

Before Alaster could join in on the conversation, Tao jumped in yelling, " Tao wanna fight! Tao wanna fight! When we gonna fight goggle head?" she asked excitedly. After she was calmed down, Alaster introduced himself, explaining that his name was not goggle head and how his Companion has a habit of giving nicknames to everyone. "So are we the only ones who saw those fliers?" He asked

Blitz turned to the others in agreement. "It's great that someone set up this meeting to take Vallen down, but honestly I can't say that it was the best of ideas. What if Vallen were to have found out about this?" Blitz pointed out.

"Aw, you've got to learn to let go and enjoy living in the moment!" stated Sonic, his companion.

Necro sighed. "I see people walk into the hospital everyday, wounded and at death's door, all because of Vallen and his Striders. If there's anything I can do to help, anything at all, I'll do it gladly." Chop Chop was proud of his human partner, but also worried that his selfless nature would end up costing him his life.

Gwen smilled at Fang and Growlith. "Well I'm Gwen, and the rude one's Escavalier. I know we may have looked a little foolish earlier, but I was training. I've been doing my best to fight off Striders when I can, but honestly I'm not quite as powerful as I need to be right now, especially if I'm going to take on Vallen. Escavalier told me that there were others like us, but you're the first person/strider team I've seen so far. Do you know anything about any others?"

Sybil walked up to a flyer posted nearby, " A meeting huh? What do ya think shoudl we go?" She asked Kirby who nodded. She sighed and entered the pub looking around at the striders. There didn't seem to be a real order to this meeting so she leaned against the wall waiting for whoever put up the flyers to speak up about this rising up plan.

"It seems so." Takeshi said. "That upsets me because we need more. I was the one who left the fliers, I just had to talk to you guys as one of you to make sure you weren't working for him." "What Takeshimon said!" Guilmon said, a big smile on his face. "I told you Guilmon, I'm not a Digimon, it's just Takeshi."

Drake quickly grabbed Takeshi's hand and shook it. "Great! Nice to meet ya! The name's Drake!" he said loudly. Spyro shook his head and said, "Yeah, that's my human Drake, and I'm Spyro." Drake then turned around to the girl who was just kinda chilling with the pink puffy marshmallow guy. "Hiya! I'm Drake!" he said loudly once more. "Yeah I think they get the point buddy," Spyro said. He was beginning to be embarassed by Drake's constant introductions.

Fang shook his head and said, "No, but Growlithe and I were on our way to the next town. We were just going to do a little hunting for striders and bash in some heads. Would you like to join us?"

Sarah nearly stumbled into the pub, her sister and the two Striders behind her. Sure... Grace technically wasn't allowed in, but she wasn't causing any trouble. She found a large table, collapsing into the seat. Grace took the seat next to her, that beaming smile still pointed in her direction. It always warmed Sarah's heart, but it also hurt. Could she ever feel that way herself? She put on a kind grin, which seemed enough for the girl. Gatomon, finally free of her partner's grip, began to scout the establishment. Palmon, however, prefered to remain by Sarah's side. After all, you never know what could happen.

Gatomon quickly picked up the chatter in the corner, sauntering over to sneak a peek. There were humans, of course, but there were also plenty of Striders. She even recognized one or two of them. "Guilmon. Hm." She made her way back to the table as Takeshi corrected his crimson companion, jumping up into one of the chairs. "Sarah." She leaned closer over the table, which wasn't saying much considering her size. The lowered voice did, however, help. "They're talking about Vallen. I think they're putting something together."

"Really?" She was drained, but the prospect of something like this was too good to pass up. "Come one. We're changing tables." She took Grace's hand as the group moved closer to the aspiring rebels, claiming a closer table. Getting involved right now might not be the best plan, but a little eavesdropping never hurt anyone.

Blitz stepped up to talk to Takeshi. "I'm glad that you did so, however reckless it may have been. I believe it to have been worth the risk. Since you're the one who called us all in together, it's obviously your call on what we do here. I would, however, suggest that we form battle teams of people and striders that could work really well together to take down other striders. Believe it or not, Sonic says that the guys we've seen up to this point are child's play compared to some of the monstrosities ahead. Even worse than that are the human/strider teams that Vallen has on his side."

Escavalier looked indignant at Fang's request. "Fool! It will be you who is joining us, for Escavalier and his trusty human sidekick will never follow another." With that, Gwen took her lance and his Escavalier incredibly hard upside the head with it. Turning to face Fang with a warm smile taking the place of the near murderous look she had held towards Escavalier before, she said "Sure! We'd love to travel with you two."

Walking down the street with his human partner, Absol saw a hanging poster. "Look, Zero, it's a gathering for those who oppose Vallen," spoke Absol, calling Zero's attention to it. Zero cursed under his breath. "How could they think that broadcasting a gathering of Vallen's enemies would be a safe plan? They might as well have sent an invitation for him to launch an all out assault." Sure enough, out at a distance Zero could see a swarm of Striders headed towards the town. "We might as well give the others a fighting chance, right Absol?" Zero asked. "Right. Who else is going to slow these things down until their meeting is out?"

Alaster smiled, Drake's attitude seemed to amuse him a little, reminding him of Taokaka, who at the moment was making a sound of hunger and desire. Tao was staring at the girl's Companion, the pink ball creature, drooling, "Tao hungry..." she said bluntly and a with a loud snarl, attempted to eat the other Strider, thinking it resembled food.. "Tao no! You can't eat that!" Alaster shouted, snatching the small cat-girl by her tail at the last second.

"Believe me, I know what Vallen and his troops are capable of." he said. "Guilmon and I were in the first town he attacked, and we were barely able to escape with our lives. What we need to do is band together and form an army to take him on. If we can't get enough people and striders, then we'll have to switch to a more stealthy plan where we try to infiltrate his stronghold."

Drake quickly turned around and shouted, "Gorrilla warfare huh? That's perfect! I'm great at being sneaky!!" Spyro shook his head and said, "It's true. Even though he's not acting it now, he's actually stealthy. He's ok in a fight too, but don't ever EVER give him anything with caffine..."

"Ok, well then, it's just down past the next treeline, and that should put us near the pub," Fang said with a smile.

"Wait, who's that guy in the middle of the street over there with the scythe, and what kind of animal is that beside him?" asked Gwen to Fang. Escavalier interrupted, however, and decided to answer for himself.

"The name of the person is of no significance. That is a Strider next to him, and they seem intent on facing some opponent," Escavalier retorted before turning to look out into the distance where the two in the middle of the street were facing. "That fool! He'll get them both killed facing an army like that!" Escavalier called out.

"Then what are we standing around here for?" asked Gwen. "Come on, let's go help!"

(OOC: Okay, I know that no one's fighting anyone else's character just yet, but I figured I'd let you all know how I kind of pictured it going down. Since there is constantly a team of human and companion, a lot of emphasis will be placed on teamwork. That includes not only combination moves, but also entire attack plans, where one action is followed by another and so on. It would be helpful, when a person is writing their character's actions, if they would write the character's intended plan of attack, and then the person being targeted decided how much of the attack hit, if any, or what was blocked, etc.)
