Joint Souls RP

 

Necessary information:

You can be either a bad guy or a good guy. Good guys are trying to take down an evil guy who summoned a number of "Striders", residents of the Other Realm, a magical world parellel to our own. Bad guys are looking to wreck havoc and defeat the good guys. The Striders he summoned were very beast like. His sister, the only other person able to connect to the Other Realm, used the last of her strength to connect a number of Strider's souls to our world in hopes that they would find humans with souls they were compatable with to join. Her brother did the same to combat her forces. When the Strider's souls connect with a compatable human then the Striders are able to transport to our dimension and the connected human gains enhanced physical ability. They also get either a weapon along with expertise in using it, or a simple magical ability due to being connected to the Other Realm. In times of dire need, a human and their Strider can fuse, becoming more powerful than either individually. Striders must be non-human in appearance and smaller than the average individual. They are supposed to be like a mix between friends and pets. Striders cannot be OCs. Striders can talk, regardless of if their source material can or not (for example, Pokemon).

 

Backstory, not truly necessary:

There was once a boy and girl, brother and sister, with an uncanny ability. They were connected to the Other Realm, a place of magic, parellel in space and time, in a reality different from our own. They could reach across the gap and communicate with the unique residents there. They were even able to travel to that strange and magical place by connecting each of their souls to the souls of the souls of individuals living in the Other Realm. The two siblings grew up, each with their own ideals, and ultimately found themselves at odds. The sister saw the emotional side of the Other Realm, in that they only way they were able to travel there was by linking their souls with others, and became a teacher in order to invest moral ideals into the modern youth in hopes that it would not only effect our world, but the Other Realm via their invisible connection. While the brother looked into the scientific nature of the Other Realm, he made breakthroughs in science, and strived to find a way to use his mind to bring the Other Realm and his world together. Eventually fame and wealth took its toll on him and he became corrupted. He then organized an event hosting many of the world's elite to come to his lab and observe his newest findings, coaxing them with the promise of wealth and power. It was there that he put his plan into effect, connecting his single soul to the souls of many residents of the Other World whom he had convinced to follow him via the promise of this other dimension to control. The "Striders" as they were now called, due to their striding between the two dimensions, hadn't counted on the adverse effects of linking all of their individual souls to his one. They arrived in this dimension a mere shadow of their former selves, brutes to be manipulated under their summoner's will, while his connection to them gave him access to the magic of the Other Realm. The brother used his Striders to slaughter the world leaders, leading the world into chaos. After discovering this, his sister attempted to stop him, but was overwelmed. With the remaining energy she had, she opened up the Other Realm, and pulled some special souls from it in hopes that they would find and bond with people their souls were compatible with. Upon connecting to a person's soul in this reality, the Striders would be able to bridge the gap to this world with none of the negative side effects that accompanied the Striders linked to the brother. By linking to the Striders, the humans became linked to the magic of the Other Realm, manifesting itself either in the form of a weapon or a special ability in addition to over all enhancing their physical ability. Upon discovering what his sister had done, the brother summoned forth key allies from the Other Realm as well, setting their souls off to link with the souls of humans as to hold off his sister's forces. This is the story of their joint souls.

10.Be original. That means you can't have the same Strider, weapon, or ability as someone else.

Fused Appearance: Standard appearance but with Sonic's trademark shoes. His hair also becomes spikier and blue, his eyes become bright green, and blue energy cackles around him like lightning. A Sonic-esque spike also projects from each shoulder.

 

Bio: 5'11", 145 lb, Blitz was just a regular teenager whose life changed when he heard about what had happened to the world's leaders, and it changed even more so when Sonic linked souls with him and told him what really happened. He is a fairly high energy guy, but he keeps his head in a tight spot. He hates seeing others in pain, and will do whatever he can to save people from Vallen and his army of controlled Striders.

Bio: 5' 4" 104lb, Sybil is a normal teenager who found herself linked with Kirby. She found out what happened and she was terrified at first. Sybilbuilt up the courage to stand against Vallen. She is not the bravest girl but when it comes to tough situations she can come up with a plan for anything.

Bio: He's a loner and he continuously bears the weight of the world on his shoulders. He isn't antisocial, he just usually stays away from groups so that no one around him will get hurt. He wears a mask to keep emotional distance from those he encounters. His hometown was one of the first hit by Vallen's forces and he began fighting against them even before he gained Absol as a Companion. With scythe in hand and Absol beside, Zero is ready to face Vallen head on and willing to trudge through a sea of Striders to get to him.

Bio: when this whole fiasco started, Rick was somehow caught in the crossfire until Metalgelas saved his life, they've been partners in crime, or at least crime fighting ever since, when fused, Rick somehow gets a strange deck of cards that activate his and Meltalgelas' combined might.

Bio: Takeshi was also from the first town hit by Vallen and was nearly killed in the attack. Guilmon had rushed into save him and leant him his power. Together they were able to get out of there and survive. They found a new place to live and have been trying to get peope to join them in taking Vallen down.

Bio: 5'8", 135lbs, Fang grew up unlike most kids. His mom abandoned him at the age of five, his father was never at home, and Fang never had anyone he could actually call a friend. This eventually led him to believe that in order to exist he needed to excel in all areas. He became an artist, his grades in school were outstanding, and he was probably the most innocent seeming person in school. Suddenly his hometown was pretty much demolished by forces unknown to him, and he was found days later by a small puppy named Growlithe. How did he know? Well the puppy told him so, he also told him that they were going to team up, and take down the forces that had caused Fang all of the emotional distress. (As if talking puppies wouldn't cause emotional distress. Lol.)

Bio: 5'8" 137 Lb. Lark had a troubling life ever since he can remember. He grew up alone, having no family or friends. By the age of 13, Lark had seen many things people should not have. He never wanted to live this life of despair and loneliness. He spent most of his life stealing, and he was great at it. During Vallen's first attack on his town, he was trying to steal. When one of the Strider's of Vallen was about to attack him, a mysterious bird like creature came to his rescue. He said his name was Peckmon, a master of stealth like Lark. The two linked together and both gain unique powers and an indestructible bond.

 

Alignment: Unknown, cannot be determined at this point.

Bio: 5'6" 111lbs. Ebony was beaten by her family as a child and had an anger toward everyone. Linking with Shadow only added to her anger and she lost it. Ebony took her anger out on everyone else and was found by Vallen. She joined him and became one of the most fearsome fighters with him. It was said you can't even see her face until a moment before death, so nobody really knows what she looks like.

(OOC: Everyone's accepted! There are just a few conditions for Azure Flame and Keyblade_warrior895. Azure Flame, you can't have both fire and a sword, you must pick one. Keyblade_warrior895, if you want to use an ability in fusion mode, then just do so. No one else has cards, so it would seem kind of out of place for you to have them. Secondly, your Companion can't be any larger than five feet tall. It can still be Metalgelas, but he just has to be smaller. Also, to FrenchFrey, you don't have to change anything, but just know that if anyone targets your human character, he's pretty much defenseless. Bio: 6'3", 187 lbs, Drake was a book worm from the time he was five. He was never bored, and often dreamed of being a dragon and killing a knight trying to rescue a princess. Wait? No you heard that right, he wasn't much of the romantic hero type, but more of the adrenaline junkie who craved to be out doing hazardous activities. He grew up to be a tall teenage boy, even though he was fourteen, and he had a lot of friends. Then one fateful day his home was attacked by some nasty striders, he barely escaped with his life, but his friends and family were not so fortunate. He was soon found by Spyro, who was the coolest thing that Drake had ever seen, and the two of them set out to right the wrongs caused by whatever was controlling those striders.

Bio: 5'11", 144 lbs, Wreck, aka Prisoner #4703, was being held in Prison on three charges of auto-theft, one charge of child abuse, and two charges of 1st Degree Murder. This eighteen year old was on his way to the electric chair when Vallen sent out the Striders. Everyone in prison was released but he killed the other prisoners. He didn't know why, he just knew that it was something he did, but he went on like it wasn't anything major. Hours later he awoke from a nightmare and found himself face to face with Haunter (voiced by Christian Bale), and he was told to head to DC to meet up with Vallen. He liked this idea, and hoped it would give him a chance to further his career at bringing havoc to the everyday people's of society. The society that had constantly ignored him.

Appearance:5'7, 132lbs, rusty orange hair, emerald green eyes, wears a steel gray coat and a black shirt. Has a trademark set of goggles he likes to wear all the time.

Fusion appearance: Alaster's eyes turn cat like and the claws become longer, he is faster, stronger & is more agile in this state.

Bio:Alaster is an orphan, his parents died when he was still a young infant. He's very quiet, but still very friendly. He didn't have many friends, his only one for a long time was his Strider. He has an incredible sense of right and wrong, and always knows just what to say and do.

Weapon or Ability: He can absorb injuries and then cast a ball of light that inflicts them onto enemies, one affliction per injury absorbed. He can also absorb and inflict diseases, though inflicting them must be done via skin contact. There is also something that feels a little off every time he absorbs an illness. Absorbing something heals it within the person from which it was absorbed. Absorbing and inflicting both take a lot of energy, more the more potent the affliction.

Bio: His parents were killed in the first attacks of the war, so he holds great resentment towards Vallen. He is nonviolent, but wanted to help people as much as he could so he began to work at the local clinic following the attacks and worsening living conditions. Chop Chop discovered and connected to Necro, feeling great respect for his constant strive to heal others.

Weapon or Ability: Fighting with fists is Tsuna's speciality and he can control fire with his will.

Bio: Tsuna has always been weak and unpopular guy who isn't good in anything. When the war started his whole hometown was destroyed, but he survived and met with Reborn and he is seeking Vallen to end this war. Tsuna is kind for everyone, he is easy going normally, but can turn very serious if his comrades' lifes is on line.

Bio: Lucas and Silver are on the run from the Striders, but will always stop to assist others fighting them, they are also escapee's from the cops and FBI, but that's something they keep to themselves.

Strider: Trigger Happy

Fused Appearance: Hank keeps his appearence except for the ears and skin colour, gains Trigger Happy's pistols and abilities

 

Bio: Hank was already a bit of a gunslinger before he partnered up with Trigger Happy, when they did team up however, they became a force to be recond with, even if they get a little cocky sometimes.

Appearance: wears all black, black hair, tanned skin, 6'0", red eyes

 

Weapon or Ability: dark energy bursts (weakens him if over used)

Fused Appearance: Jason gains feathers, wings and the metal armor pices of Sonic Boom.

 

Bio: all Jason wants out of this is power, he joined the Striders out of his desire for power, and will eliminate anyone who gets in his way of that goal

Bio:

Atratus is a former high ranking member of a ruthless gang. Self trained to be an expert user of a double sided energy bladed scythe. He became disgusted by the members of the gang he was formerly in, and so he took off bringing a few members with him. His new plan was to be a mercenary and he set up his group to be a hit squad known as XX4. Atratus and his group never failed a contract and no questions were ever asked. If you had the money, you could consider it done. Atratus met his strider while on a mission to assassinate a target. Seeing the potential of the strider intrigued him. Knowing that the Strider would make him more powerful than he had ever known, he leaped at the opportunity.

Strider Appearance:

 

Fused Appearance: Rather than actually fusing, Enkidu transforms into one of three weapons: Arthur Pendragon's Excalibur, Cúchulainn's Gáe Bulg, or Artemis' Khryselakatos. I'm putting the weapon details in a spoiler box below.

 

 

Excalibur: "The Sword of Promised Victory". Excalibur is a divine construction, the pinnacle of holy swords, forged by the planet as the crystallization of the wishes of mankind stored and tempered within the planet. It is the crystallization of the prayer named "glory" and everything etched in the hearts of those who are scattered at the sword's radiance; the nostalgic, sorrowful, and exalted dream of those who were placed on the bloody hell called a battlefield, of all warriors past, present, and future fully exposed to the fear of death and despair, and whom still cling to a desire: "to be exalted." Excalibur holds the power to cut through almost anything, as well as protect its wielder from minor wounds. Cain is not in possession of its scabbard, Avalon.

 

Gáe Bulg: "The Barbed Spear That Strikes With Death". Gáe Bulg was obtained by Cúchulainn from Scathach after he finished his training, and was used to murder both his friend and son. The weapon has three special abilities: the previously mentioned "Barbed Spear That Strikes With Death", "Soaring Spear That Strikes With Death", as well as the power to cut through magic. "Barbed Spear" is a little complicated, so I'll quote the official ability.

 

"Gáe Bolg: Barbed Spear that Pierces with Death (刺し穿つ死棘の槍ゲイ・ボルグ, also translated as Spear of Impaling Barbed Death^?) is an attack focused on a single target, created by Lancer to suit his own style, that strikes a fatal blow that always pierces the opponent's heart and ruins their body from within with its thousand iron thorns. It literally freezes the mana in the air, and it can easily be perceived as a sure-kill technique by all those around simply from being charged with prana. Once Gáe Bolg's name has been called, the cursed spear reverses the nature of causality to make it so the cause of the "lance being thrust" comes from the effect of the "opponent's heart being pierced" by it. The actual action of the thrust is merely a formality, as the lance has already pierced the opponent's heart before the attack has even started. Once the heart has been successfully pierced, either by a normal thrust or its ability, it is nearly impossible to heal the wound with normal means unless Gáe Bolg is destroyed or Lancer is killed. It is impossible to dodge the thrust of the lance, no matter how agile, well-guarded, or far away from the lance the opponent is standing. Even having EX rank agility would be useless, so the only benefit would be allow the opponent to back out of the attack's range before it is initiated. The lance can move at impossible angles, signified by turning into a red beam of light, that always manages to reach its target. Even if he thrusts directly at the feet of the opponent, such as in the battle with Saber, it will immediately point upwards towards the heart without growing, bending, and or any movement from Lancer, and if it is thrown from a distance of ten meters, or rather than truly being a throw, "Lancer's own body is fused with his soaring spear", it will change its path around any obstacles or pierce through any wall in order to reach its target. This action looks completely normal to onlookers, as if it it were already piercing the heart, because rather than truly changing its course, it is simply an action meant to prove the fact that the heart was pierced."

 

Essentially, Cain reverses the principle of cause & effect. The spear pierces his target's heart, and then the weapon is thrusted. Only sheer luck can save the victim. The second ability, "Soaring Spear" is much simpler. Cain takes a running start before leaping into the air. He then throws the spear, which divides into countless projectiles. While considerably weaker than "Barbed Spear", it covers a large area. Needless to say, using Gáe Bulg requires an incredible amount of energy. It serves as Cain's trump card.

 

Khryselakatos: "Of the Golden Shaft". Artemis' bow in Greek mythology, gifted to her by her father Zeus as one of her six wishes. It is said that the arrows are capable of bringing sudden death and disease to girls and women. The bow itself has become the symbol of the waxing moon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bio: The appearance of the Striders marked Cain's chance to finally show the world what he's made of. A former gang leader, Cain sees this as an opportunity to take what he wants and destroy anything that stands in his way. And he won't be satisfied until everything falls under his control.

Bio: Sarah joined with the Striders to protect her sister, Grace. They've lived alone for the past five years. While she would rather avoid a fight altogether, Sarah will fight to the death if Grace is somehow involved, a point of view opposed by Palmon.

Appearance:

Weapon or ability: Grace can fuse with Strider's other than her own. This ability has only been demonstrated with Sarah's Palmon, however.

Strider: Gatomon

Strider Appearance:

Fused Appearance: Silphymon normally, Valkyrimon when fused with Palmon as well.

Bio: Sarah's younger sister. Grace joined with Gatomon, much to Sarah's dismay. Her sister is afraid that Grace will become swept up in events to come, though the Striders assure her that her younger sister will be safe. Grace would rather play with her Strider than fight, and usually acts childish.

(OOC: I feel as though your character Cain is jumping between two extremes of really weak (when Cain isn't carrying a weapon) and incredibly broken (Cúchulainn's Gáe Bulg, to hold true to its definition, would make killing any character, even Vallen, really easy). I'm not so sure about him. The other two are accepted, though! So is SamuriLegends' character, Atratus. Also, to those who are getting impatient, I promise to start the rp soon. With so many characters in this thing, I have no idea what'll happen, but hopefully it'll be fun!)

OOC: I actually only planned on using Gáe Bulg against myself, mostly because the cost of using it would pretty much immobilize him. That, and once you figure out how it works, it pretty easy to get out of. It's really a one-shot deal. I'll change it if you want.

Bio: Shade was a sad child, her mom had died early and she was a total daddy's girl, but when her father was killed she looked for revenge. Stealth Elf found her and kindled her hatred, she helped her realize that it was humanity's fault for what happened to her family, and then her teaming up with the delinquent Wreck didn't help...
