A lot of people do not like the Drop system or it's idea for multiple reasons. For one, they are forced to change characters every so often, and if they are in the middle of the boss and they drop, they have to re-do the entire fight over again. It feels restrictive and it may well be that way. However, this solves exactly the problem that there could have been with BBS. In BBS, or Re:Coded, you could always just dodge around until your Cure command reloaded, then hit the boss more, and if you take damage, dodge away, then heal again. The drop system makes it so that it takes a bit more strategy to beat the bosses, since you are on a time budget.
Another thing is, there is an item that restores your Drop Gauge anyways.
