Ok so ill star by explaining what I believe is the explanation of why, ven and roxas look alike, why riku and terra are connected, why kairi and aqua are connected, and lastly why vanitus looks like sora. (Spoilers ahead)

 

Ok so ven and roxas look alike because at the end off bbs little sora merged hearts with ven so that he could still live. So when sora's nobody was made it took the form of ven, since ven is like half of sora's heart.

 

riku and terra are connected because when terra went to destiny islands he met young riku. he felt that riku had the light to whiled the keyblade and gave him the ability to whiled one. Thus making riku able to control the soul eater keyblade.

 

Aqua is connected because of when they met in the radiant garden. Aqua saved young kairi's life. aqua felt that there was great light in kairi and put a spell on her that if her heart was ever lost to the darkness that her heart would go to another heart of light. with that being sora. in kh1 having kairi’s heart within him.

 

and finally my long thought out reason to what everyone is being confused about.why vanitus looks like future sora...ok here i go..

 

vanitus looks like sora because in the beginning of bbs they showed Xehanort with passed out ven on destiny islands. They showed how ven made a deep dive to his heart and a big part was missing. He merged it with young sora, thus making them one but not fully. They show ven imidiatly after the merge hold up a keyblade, wich was given to him because of the merge with sora's light filled heart. (if you remember in kh 1 everyone is saying how sora is the chosen one of the keyblade. an if you remember as well the keyblade masters give there students the power to use the keyblade that also explains why sora would be "the chosen one of the keyblade" cause no master gave him that blade) Xehanort saw that ven could now use the keyblade and saw the pure light from sora and the pure darkness from what was left in his heart,diciding to make the χ-blade. ven became conscious and Xehanort decided to try to creat the blade but ven refused. Not getting cooperation Xehanort ripped to other half of darkness out of him leaving him only pure light. The light ended up staying with ven and what was left of his heart; the rest sora gave ven, turned out to be the dark coming out looking like future sora. At the end sora agrees t fully merge ven's heart with his.

 

But I don’t believe sora's looks were influenced by the merge as some others believe. sora was already born and looked the way he did, I don’t believe that’s why they say ven looks like roxas and roxas looks like sora. If you look at vens and roxas's face they have some differences. But feel free to comment I want to hear if you guys think my theory is right! @_@

I thought sora already had the ability to wield a keyblade, connecting hearts with Ventus just gave more reason and dual wielding to a certain degree. (mostly Roxas) and when aqua is at destiny islands she says 1 keyblade is enough for any friendship , because of terra giving the ability to wield to Riku there were 2 keyblades.

Nope Nomura has CONFIRMED Sora was always meant to wield .Vens heart only sped up the process but he was always meant to. Probably why Vens heart sought out Soras to begin with.. Vens heart was in Roxas hence his appearance .Sora could still wield after forming his nobody( vens heart wasnt released it stayed in the body hence Roxas..When he lost his heart and from that point on till CoM he was wielding WITHOUT vens heart in him .Roxas can duel wield bc he uses Soras and Vens .Yes its possible to grow a heart but Roxas wielded from the moment he existed before he even had time to grow his own heart.When he defeated Xion it awakened his ability to duel wield with Vens ..This is stated by Nomura... Furthermore Vanitas looks like Sora bc Ven merged with Soras newborn heart and bc of that connection thats what gave Vanitas his appearance .....

At first, it was Ven's heart that let Sora wield a Keyblade. Then after Sora turned into a heartless, Ven's heart went into Sora. Sora then knew how to wield the Keyblade by himself. After he got Ven's heart back, he learned how to dual wield.

Why are there people who didn't know this yet

I feel that I should mention that the scene at the begining of the game when Ven and Sora's hearts first connect, Sora is just a newborn baby, since it seems the original poster didn't seem to realize that.

Did you seriously miss where myself and several people told you its CONFIRMED that Sora was destined to wield even without Ven? We even posted you a link to show you where Nomura said it

No Sora was born with the ability to weild the keyblade Ven's heart sped up the process of him recieving one it also allowed him to duel weild as he was now able to wield a keyblade of his own as well as Ventus's keyblade. Chain of memories is proof of this as Ven's heart was within roxas the entire time meaning Sora lost the aility to duel wield but was still able to use his own keyblade because he had the ability to wield one.

What I meant by the last sentence is when terra did the ceremony with Riku that made it so that both Riku and sora would have keyblades, I mean when aqua was talking to sora and Riku she basically told them the plot to kh1.
