But now I am up to the final battle with Sin, it's time to go up the top of the ship and face Sin. I need some help preparing for this epic final battle. What type of stats should I have? What type of equips/abilities should I have? Other than the default five, what other Aeons do I need?

 

I can still go to any area in Spira via the ship when needed.

Complete 98% of the game then fight Sin....

Set up a team to attack from a distance. Wakka and Lulu are natural choices, but I don't know if you've branched out into magic with anyone else. Personally, I taught Yuna black magic, so I used her. You need to knock Sin out of the sky before it can use Giga-Graviton, so don't spare your Overdrives.

try armor break and metal break,hastega (you will need more turns for more attacks)start with aeons overdrives and once he gets closer use you best attackers

I had tidus/auron/kimahri with hastega and using quck hit ability for more turns,also Sin had his defence reduced from armor break
