Since the Women's Football/Soccer kicked off today to start things off I thought why not make an official thread where we talk about all of the games? I know there are at least some of you that wouldn't mind talking about it.

 

If you do not like or care for the Olympic games we do not need posts in here explaining that. If you do not want to be part of the discussion then please by all means keep out. This is solely a thread for discussing about the teams you root for, the games, the athletes, and keeping track of the overall games. If your posts to don't contribute they will be removed.

Women's soccer semi-final just finished, the US beat Canafa 4-3. I'm sorry but that was a completely unfair match. The reffing was just so terrible, and Canada would've won if it weren't for those terrible calls by the ref.

If he were an athlete in any other sport, he wouldn't have anywhere near as many. It's only because of the huge amount of swimming events there are in the Olympics that he has so many medals.

This doesnt lessen his achievements . He earned every single one and is the most decorated Olympian ever now.

I thought a Norweigan won gold in Kayak? I must be thinking of another race. The one where Canada took silver. I think the guy who won silver is actually from my town. But he was winning for most of the race....

 

And we just won a medal in soccer! Yay! Too bad it was only bronze...

Until he achieves everything Phelps did and MORE , he's not better. Also, since he now holds the record on Olympic medals he IS the greatest olympian. At least until someone else overtakes it and it took decades for someone ( phelps) to break the previous record.

Most decorated does not equal greatest. I think that Bolt is the greatest Olympian, but that's just my opinion. Phelps may have the most medals, but everyone has a different opinion on who they think the greatest Olympic athlete is.
