[Spoiler] I'm confused about Young Xehanort...

Posted

The only thing that I don't quite understand is why Vanitas was the one talking to Sora in Le Cite des Cloches (I don't remember the exact spelling, but anyway) and then out of nowhere, the identity became Young Xehanort. For the majority of the game, I assumed Vanitas somehow found a vessel of his own, but then the ending lost me. Would someone care to explain the connection/reasoning?

Considering it was a dream, it's more than likely Vanitas was just an illusion by YX to mess with Sora's head. The game never even mentions him by name.

Ven's heart was reacting inside Sora.

Sora saw Vanitas because of Ventus' heart being within his own.

He appeared while Young Xehanort was talking about how Sora's heart was a prison to Ventus' heart.

That honestly makes perfect sense, I never thought of it that way :)
Actually, it was Nomura trolling us, putting Vanitas in the promos to make it seem like Vanitas would play a role in the game when he only appeared for 3 seconds.

Vanitas was a prisoner and he wanted out go figure :I
