I've only just noticed that the only final fantasy characters in KH3D are moogles. I guess they were replaced by the TWEWY characters but still... I don't really mind but I think that maybe in KH III they should add more FF characters or even a ff based world... After all, Kingdom hearts is becoming less of a merge between FF and Disney and is more of a merge with Disney and Kingdom Hearts characters themselves....

Whatever the reason is, I hope, they will show it to us this time around. I would love to see Sephiroth or some other FF-character as one of Xehanort's "friends".

 

 

About new FF-charas:

I doubt that there will be new ones - at lest for KH3.

I wouldn't be opposed to more Final Fantasy characters, but I really don't miss them either. I think that the ones from Radiant Garden, Destiny Islands, and Twilight Town will definitely make a reappearance, but I am not so sure we can count on any new ones. I also really don't see a Final Fantasy world happening.

I never played Crisis Core, maybe the Zack in the KH time line can live, like how Aerith was alive in KH1 before she died in FF(though, I don't know if she was still alive at the time of KH1's release in FF)

I agree, if you're talking mostly about where they're from and things/people they know. Of course they weren't really from those places and that is completely noncannon. Just like Dissidia isn't supposed to be cannon for any of the characters there.

 

Personality wise, to me, they did great it translating over everyone and kept how they act, talk, posture, etc very cannon. I may not see the idiosyncrasies you may see, but I'm super hyper anylitcal of FF characters being in and out of character (this is why i stopped reading fanfiction). I think maybe some people see Squall being out of character, but I find that they went more on how he was acting by the very end of FFVIII. He was a lot more open, for him anyway, and was capable of forming sentences that DIDN'T only consist of ellipses.

 

Nope. The FF characters were all butchered.

Cloud is nothing like FF7 Cloud, he acts like Advent Children Cloud... only KH doesn't give us ANY context for why, unlike AC

Aerith is a soft-spoken dainty, almost princess-like girl, when she was considerably more spunky and interesting in the game.

Cid is completely different. I don't even know what to say about him.

Setzer was annihilated in KH2. That abomination is a insult to the character.

And that goes triple of Vivi. Poor Vivi. Vivi was such a great character, seeing him reduced to how he appears in KH2 is... depressing.

Seifer is also way off... but compared to Vivi and Setzer it's not so bad.

And I don't recall Yuna, Rikku and Paine being extortionist assholes.

Also, Sephiroth, despite being a fairly pathetic fight ing FF7, is treated as a ridiculously power GOD in KH for whatever reason

 

That said, they did do a pretty good job with Zack. Though why HE was able to be possessed by darkness while Terra couldn't is beyond me.

I want to see more Characters from Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Parasite Eve, The World Ends With You and The Bouncer appear in future Games in the Series.

With Leon, he can still be standoffish and aloof, but he demonstrates that he has feelings and actually gives a damn. More dimensions and much more likable means a better presence within the game. Besides, did anyone really, really want Squall to sit around and mope some more, especially considering what Cloud is like in KH?

Agreed. It actually would have made more sense if, given what they had planned for the character's role to be, if they had given the assignment to Kuja. At least the narcisissm makes sense (and hey, his hair is white too, so it works)

I demand that Vivi and Roxas have a real heart-to-heart about the prospects of not existing. Because that would be the most heartbreaking conversation ever. Also, the prospect of Vivi sitting on the clocktower eating ice cream is adorable.

 

Unless, of course, he suddenly "stops." The tragedy would bring even me to tears.

I don't really want more VIII characters, I just want them to unbastardise Seifer so he and Squall can have an epic battle like Cloud and Sephiroth.

 

I would adore it if Malificient had won Siefer over and he was one of the reasons she was able to take over Radiant Garden and turn it into Hollow Bastion, meaning he had a hand in destroying Leon's home. I guess there's still an opening for him to go over to the Dark side, and it would be glorious.

Yeah, I actually do like Leon better as well,though I hadn't played VIII before I played KH. But that doesn't change the fact that he's practically a completely different character from Squall (And who knows, maybe if he had been like that, some bright fellow at Square Enix would have decided to write Cloud more like he was in FF7!)

Hm... yeah, actually, Treno nobleman and all that. I could even imagine his Dissidia voice saying all of Setzers lines...

Though, him being primarily a magic user could be a problem with his struggle fighting style... then again, Setzer is supposed to be a gambler, and THAT certainly didn't come through in his fighting style...

By the point in the game were Galbadia Garden attacks Balamb Squall had already gave a damn. Does no one remember his great long motivating speech? Squall is one of the FEW main Final fantasy characters that actually has growth and development in the game. He starts as an introverted, apathetic teenager and by the end he's learned how to love people and care for more than just his job as a mercenary. How come no one else seems to notice his growth as a person?

 

I don't see Squall from KH (I really hate it when he's referred to as Leon, and i HATE how SE has created a generation that believes that's Squall's REAL name.) as a different character, more of an OLDER version of Squall. A version of himself that has had even more time to mature and learn how to care for people, and sometimes even show it although it's always in a cool, nonchalant sort of way.

 

FFVIII was my first true FF, I play almost every year. So it's the one I know and love the best. I will admit they messed up Seifer by making him a kid, and they made him a bit too arrogant in my eyes. They took away his main reason for doing pretty much everything he does, and made him a wuss. By extension they did this to Fuijin and Raijin as well.

 

I also suppose I was wrong about them changing characters in KH from their FF selves, mostly because I went by how I feel about them. Y R P are still annoying and pointless, along with Yuffie, because that's how i felt about them during the games.

 

As for Setzer, I didn't feel he had enough screen time to even develop a character, but I certainly didn't like his outfit as shallow as that sounds. I agree that Kuja might have fit better, but so could have Edgar if we're going by narcissism. I do love me some Edgar, too.

With Squall, it's mostly just a matter of shaking off my first impressions, even when I know the character changes considerably. It's one of the reasons I've never been a fan of Cloud. I actually really love the idea of his whole personality being manufactured by lies, but even with that in mind, I still think of him as a total jerk, and I'm forever judging him based on "I don't care what your name is" and "Not my problem."

I like it. I enjoy the increase of more original characters. The Final Fantasy cameos are nice but I'd never want to see a "FF" world or anything. I wouldn't see the point. Why would I want to play through Midgar in KH when I already have in FF?
