CoreOnline- Square Enix's Free Game Streaming Service

I'm an optimist. I REALLY want to believe that a ad based game streaming thing like this can work. So I ask that you try to support this, show Square Enix that it's viable. There are only two games available at the moment, with two more on the way... but if this takes off, we could be playing Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy and the like for free on our browser.

Surely that's a good thing?

wow sounds like a good idea :D ill show this to my friends :)

Hmm...

Looks like it might be interesting. I don't particularly feel the impulse to try out either of the two games they are offering currently, but maybe when they add more games. Free games are always nice, and after looking over how the site works, a one minute ad for 20 minutes of game play doesn't seem like a bad trade off. If they manage not to mess it up, and the audience is there, this could become very interesting.

Yay! Square makes good choices

Im not interested in this. I'd rather buy a game from steam and have it downloaded on my computer. Plus that browser may get popular (doubt it) and it will run really slow, be glitchy and buggy. So I dont think I'm all for it. I rather think its a thing people think will be a success but won't be.

If it makes money, they upgrade their servers, and it becomes less laggy. Simple.

Do you not SEE what this could mean? Are you honestly saying you don't want to pay a game for next to nothing, simply because you want to have it installed?

I mean, this is the kind of thing that could dramatically change the face of gaming! Think about it; imagine a person likes Kingdom Hearts, and wonders just who this Cloud character is... if this takes off, we could potentially just say "Oh, he's from Final Fantasy VII, that game's great, here, you can play it for free here:"

So you'd like to spend more money? Ok, then.

I seriously doubt we'll see Final Fantasy let alone Kingdom Hearts on something like this. Maybe some of the smaller Final Fantasy titles but that's it.

Why you might ask? I don't see Square Enix releasing Kingdom Hearts games on PSN. A service which Square Enix would actually get a profit out of.

First of all, 'smaller' Final Fantasy would probably mean 1-9, which is A OK

Second, I could easily see an exclusive KH made for this service

Third, Square can easily profit off of this. Whether a person buys something because one of their ads, or they actually get other people to pay to advertise, or they make any microtransactions.

I'm personally predicting Final Fantasy IV will be added at some point

Square making good decisions no way!

This looks really nice. Definetely hope they can keep this working out.

This looks really fun.

You either pay for the game in full or pay for the time which I think its really dumb but seriously to me it doesnt look a thing Like it would get huge. Browser gaming just isnt exactly the same as having a downloaded game which Downloaded games are better well because you can mod them and I know tons of people here love having mods on their pc games :3

Spend more money? Paying for game time on the browser thing is more money. And steam sells games at regular pricing. And they have sales all week every week.

You aren't spending ANY money on the browser. You're watching ads. That's not the same as paying ten bucks for a game.

Yea you can watch ads for 5 minutes more of time but still you can also pay for time or buy the full game ;3 I tried the browser and played Hitman:Blood Money which i've played on PS2 but I didnt like how it worked and all soh I dont think it would really be anything I would want to use in the near future. Watching ads all day would be annoying just to play a game as well so kinda stupid >.>

I don't know if it's my logic is just stupid, but your reasons are shit. If you can't take free games when they're in your face, then ok. Don't need to tell us why you don't take them.

If you watch five minutes of ads, you get over an hour of gameplay.

You're being silly

Honestly, I would personally rather pay to play if it means that I don't have to sit through ads. But that's just me.

It's a one minute ad for half an hour of gameplay.

Geez

Sorry, but I'm not really into the idea. I think that some people would enjoy it, I don't think I would. But didn't you just say that it's 5 minutes of ad for an hour? So then wouldn't it be 2.5 minutes for a half hour? lol

My reasons are good >> watching ads to play a game is bullshit.

WHY is it bullshit? It's asking for you to give up a minute or two of your time in order to play and ENTIRE game for free

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Five minutes is a generalization used to describe a relatively short amount of time. The actual time given varies by how what ad you watch.

five minutes, then you get an hour of a game. It's hardly MOST of your time

There are no ad interruptions; you choose how many ads you want to watch, and it gives you that much time. The game doesn't just randomly stop and force you to watch an ad.
