This. I adore their friendship, but spinning it into yaoi...no, just...no.

I agree! The ridiculous shipping is one of the KH fandom's worst qualities. Especially the obsessive, crazy shippers who give the fandom as a whole a bad name. Enough is enough. Unfortunately, it will

I love you (not in that way). Agreed, Kingdom Hearts is all about friendship. People insisting on making their relationships romantic pretty much spits in the face of that theme. In a way, it's alm

thread needs moar attention

Just some food for KH thought. Hearts seem to get their power from any kind of meaningful bond between people. No one ever said it had to be romantic. Quote Sora and Ventus: "My friends are my power, and I'm theirs!"

One of KH's main themes, guys. Friends. Go ahead and have your fun, shippers. I'll have mine.

Even though it's a fact only I and maybe 2.5 other people on the internet will ever support this club, I felt I'll make it, anyway.

This is for the select few people who, like me, have a distaste for shipping in the Kingdom Hearts fandom. Shipping's everywhere in every fandom, but KH is among the worst I've ever seen. Maybe you just don't like most of the pairings. Or maybe you support a few of them, but you're just so sick of the prevalence of it--the shipping wars, the need for every character to be paired up, the assumption that no dynamic is ever, truly meaningful unless kissing's involved--that you've decided to give the practice the middle finger, even if only temporary.

It'd be nice to read fanfics with my favorite characters that didn't insist on shipping them, like there's no point to being close if they're not going at it like rabid dogs. It'd also be nice to read fics that didn't revolve around romance somehow. Question to fanfic readers and writers: how often do you see plots where romance takes a back seat to the story? Not that many in comparison, especially with all the high school AUs that take away everything remotely interesting about the source material and butcher the characters into unrecognizable shadows of their canon selves, in order to get them paired together.

(Okay, so all fandoms in existence do the high school thing, but KH is particularly bad about it. I don't have any problem with it at all, I do it myself, but c'mon people! You an have a KH high school AU and have a story that centers around something else and still keep the characters' personalities as intact as you can AND find a way to include Disney, hearts, magic, and other things that make the franchise what it is. But my point is that most fanfic "plots" are nothing more than framing devices to get one's pairing of choice together, and high school AUs just make it easier to do that.)

*ahem* So yeah, to the 2.5 people who'd ever join this club, tell me your bad experiences with KH shipping. We can also watch the ensuing shitstorm that this thread will cause.

I'm not against kh shipping, but that's because I couldn't care less on whether you wanted "AKUROKUNAMI" vs "AKUROKUSHI" or whatever people called it.

" It'd also be nice to read fics that didn't revolve around romance somehow. Question to fanfic readers and writers: how often do you see plots where romance takes a back seat to the story?"

I actually have great ideas that have nothing to do without romance. Like Roxas, with Caius' heart of chaos. Dark theme, confusion, and an actual point to Org XII rather than being the Xehanort-sheep they were meant to be.

So if you mean "ANTI SHIP" as in "ANTI OBNOXIOUS SHIP" , that "2.5" people has turned into "3.5".

I find myself agree with most of everyone here. I DO ship a little bit (I can prove all of my ships, minus one, with FACTS) here and there, some of the fangirls....*cringe*

I really don't like yaoi, not because it's boyxboy or whatever, but because the fangirly-ness is just oozing off of it.

Comedy yaio , yes (because it's usually written well) ; Fangily fluff, NO.

I'm not a big romance person but I generally don't mind shipping. I ship a little my self but because KH is a series that revolves around friendship every paring is a "crack pairing" by default. That's what I think the fandom needs to remember, that their ships are crack pairings. Granted, some are more drug laced then others (I'm a fajitasxkiwi shipper. Come at me bro) but either way I think people should ship whom ever they want so long as they keep head canon and real canon separate. I don't think people necessarily even need "evidence" to support their pairing on the grounds that it's never going to happen anyway so looking through the canon is null.

The few KH pairing I do sort of like, I like just because I like the idea of them, even if it'll never happen and I don't expect them to. I kind of like SoRiku and I'm fine with its existence but it and other pairing, slash or other wise, suffer from the fandom criss crossing head canon and real canon. As mentioned before I'm fine with shipping and people can ship whom ever they want and I don't care who or what you ship be it hetero, Yaoi, Yuri, furry just remember: It's NOT going to happen. Ever. I have my pairings for the shits and giggles but I know they'll never happen and I don't pretend they will.

As for fanfiction I feel the same way. Even though I have a soft spot for a few ships I'm not a big romance person and I'd like to go on Fanfiction.net and not find that 90% of the KH stories are romance. Or at least not heavily romance based. I can tolerate it if it's a sub plot or background thing or maybe even if it's really well done but most times it's not. I wish they would come up with a filter...
