"Well okay then" Nathan said and looked at Seth. "It looks like we are going to team up for now. I know perfect place to do the training, we leave around 6:00 am tomorrow so be ready" Nathan said, this time he was first time really passionate about the training. ".. Okay" Seth said and looked at his hands. "Will I finally be able to control my powers? Where is this training place? I might run into cops during the training" Seth had many things in mind, but his thinking was stopped by Nathan lifting him up from sofa. "Please don't try to think things so hard, just. please" Nathan said dragging him to upstairs. "Excuse us, but we are going to leave early tomorrow so we aren't going to chit chat the whole day here" Nathan called out to others who still stayed in downstairs.

 

Nathan walked to his room and looked around. The room felt still big after seeing it few times, probably because his own house was full of stuff all the time. Nathan unbuttoned his shirt quickly and jumped to bed, but he didn't take off his necklane. Nathan held crystal between his fingers and said: "Alternates, huh?"

Luke slowly turned his head to see that Nathan and Seth where going to their beds to rest up for their early training session. It wasn't long before Pacifica and Tery also went to their beds to rest "Hehe, now it's just me and three girls that are still up" said Luke as he quietly laughed to himself a little bit. Luke then said to them "Just so you three know, I think i'll probably pair up with one of you. That means it could be you Jenna, Hehe". After Luke said that Jenna started to stomp her way to her bedroom for some sleep annoyed at Luke, While Annabeth and Chelsea walk to their bedrooms to get some sleep too.

 

"MAN... what is with these people Black Hayate?, i'am starting to wonder what will become of me if i continue too get stronger. Will i be swallowed by my past which has nothing but darkness and pain or will i be saved somehow. Mmm, I wonder if Annabeth can see what lies in my future?, Oh well whatever happens *yawn* happens..." said Luke as he watch the fish in the tanks swim around in the water, Luke then started to feel sleepy watching the fish swim around and then Luke fell asleep on the couch with his dog 'Black Hayate' asleep next to him on the carpet.

Tery was completely taken aback. This was probably the first time had actually volunteered to be with him for anything. At school whenever people needed to pair up for something, he was either chosen because everyone else had been taken, or he would work alone. But if he had to work with anyone, despite how reclusive he still was, he would have wanted it to be either Annabeth or Pacifica.

 

Tery rubbed his eyes, the time starting to get to him. "I guess you're right, we need to sleep... goodnight, guys." With that, Tery walked up to his guest room, and lay down on one of the beds.

 

Tery stared at the ceiling for a while, pondering everything that was going on. In the span of a day, he had learned he was a guardian of some kind, that they had until the Summer Solstice before something bad would happen, and they needed to train to fight "alternates," whatever they were. Tery knew that this was going to be a long month and a half.

Jenna had gotten to her room and got dress in her evening clothes that she had luckily packed in her bag that she usually kept in her limo. She yawned as she got into the bed. She then went under the covers and pulled out a journal and started to write in it under the pillow. The journal read,

 

'Dear Diary, a lot has happen in over twenty four hours since the last time I wrote in you. I have met a group that are just like me with powers of their own. I found out that we have until the Summer Solstice to learn to use our powers. On all the people I have met, a certain boy comes to my mind. He found and adopted a black dog that is just like him. The worst thing is, I think I will be partnered up with him. He is so annoying, nothing like my boyfriend Zack. If only Zack was here, I would have a better time, he is the only one who truly cares about me. Well until next time, Jenna.'

 

Jenna closed and put away the journal into her bag. She then turned the light off and went to sleep.

It was about 6:00am in the morning when Luke started to wake up, All because Luke heard Black Hayate start to growl, So Luke slowly open his eyes to see what it was Black Hayate was growling at. It was Nathan and Seth walking out the front door "hmm, They must be going for their training session now, Darn it... now that i'am up, i won't be able to get back to sleep" said Luke with an annoyed look on his face. So Luke got up off the couch and had a quick shower, Made sure Black Hayate did his business outside as well as feed him, Then Luke started to look for any food in the fridge and the cabinets that he can have for breakfast.

 

Luke made himself a sandwich and he also got himself a drink of orange juice to go with it, Luke then sat at the table and started to eat his sandwich "I wonder how long it will take for the others to wake up from their sleep" said Luke to himself.. "hmm, Who is it that Jenna likes... is it Nathan, no it can't. Maybe it's Tery or maybe Seth, no stop it Luke, stop thinking about it, just ask her went she wakes up" thought Luke as he was eating his sandwich. Then Luke said with confidence "I wonder how i should train, hehe, not that i'll be easy to beat when those fakers come. Hahahaha". Then Luke drunk some of his orange juice.

Jenna woke up sometime around 10am. She sretched as she got up. She then looked around, "So it wasn't a dream? I really am poor now." Jenna said. She got ready for the day, took her shower, and put on her makeup and clothes. When she was done, she walked downstairs to see Luke eating in the kitchen. She just rolled her eyes and sat down on the couch and pulled out her iPhone 5. She then made a quick text to someone and put the phone away. She then went into the kitchen and sat down at the table where Luke was. "Good morning." she said.

"Morning Jenna" said Luke with a smile on his face, "If your hungry there's some sandwiches on the table that i made for you guys, just in case you want some quick food and each sandwich haves a different filling in them too. Also since we are alone together, there's something i wanted to ask you Jenna" said Luke with a serious & curious look on his face. "So who is this person that makes your powers active and is this person special to you or was special to you?" said Luke wanting a good answer from Jenna.

"Well that would be my boyfriend Zack. We have been dating for over three long years. We are sorta the popular couple at school. I don't know why, but whenever I am with him I feel like I am able to do anything." Jenna said with a smile on her face getting lost in thought of her boyfriend. She then grabbed a ham and turkey sandwich on white bread. "This isn't stemmed sausage with worlds finest pancakes, but I guess it will have to do." Jenna said and then took a bite of the sandwich.

It was sometime after eleven a.m. that Pacifica woke. She still felt drowsy even if she had slept in long enough. Paci stretched, rising from her bundle of sheets to open up the windows, letting the salty air and ocean mist waft in her room. After feeling awake enough, she hoped into the shower and got herself ready. Today would be their last day of relaxation; tomorrow, serious business took place. Paci might as well take advantage when she could.

 

Although Pacifica worried. If the others were going to live here for a month and a half at best, they needed rations. Clothing, toothbrushes, shampoo, et cetera. Everyone but Jenna had dove into this adventure with nothing but what was on their backs. And they couldn't live like that for a month and a half. If she could, Pacifica would gladly buy them all they needed but she couldn't afford it. She did, however, know someone who could.

 

She saw Luke and Jenna engaged in a conversation, sitting at the kitchen island. Jenna looked, for the first time Paci had seen her, happy while Luke seemed extremely annoyed. There was a plate of sandwiches near them, a quarter eaten. Paci smiled widely. Perhaps this was the chance she had to ask Jenna if she would help everyone out.

 

"Good morning to you both," she said politely, grabbing a bowl and spoon from the cupboard. As she took out the milk and cereal, she asked Jenna, "Hey, Jenna. I was wondering if you could do me a favour? Actually, if you could do everyone a favour…" From Jenna's expression, Paci couldn't tell if she was irritated, bemused or intrigued. Regardless, as Paci explained what she wanted from Jenna and if she would do it, she hoped her fellow Guardian would say yes.

Nathan and Seth had walked few hours to the town close to them. "Why couldn't we just take a bus?" Seth asked with hopeless tone, wearing hoodie to prevent people seeing his face. He was scuffing behind Nathan who walked hands in his pockets, with hunch posture. "Stop complaining" Nathan grunted. "If you can't take this, you can't take the training" Few hours passed with few cars passing them and clock was about 11 am when they arrived to small town and Nathan looked around. "This place is as shady as ever.." Nathan said and Seth notied how people were looking at them and they were whispering something. "Umm, we seem to get lot of attention" Seth said and walked closer to Nathan. "Haha, I guess I am quite a famous in this town. I was raised in here and I have caused a lot of problems" Nathan answered with more glad tone, but it was somewhat bitter.

 

Soon Seth and Nathan arrived in front of old fashinoned yellow house. "What are we doing in here? Seth asked. "This is my parents' house, I'm going to get some stuff we are going to need. You just stay here" Nathan said and entered inside the house. No one seemed to be in home. Nathan was used to it, his foster parents worked a lot and they had aged already so they didn't even come home too often from their work. Nathan left small letter where he explained what he had taken and told few things about his whereabouts. Nathan steped out from house and threw bag to Seth. "What am I going to do with this?" "Well, I guess we need some clothes and other useful stuff so you can carry them" Nathan said with irritated tone.

 

Nathan and Seth continued walking down the streets and Seth wondered where Nathan was dragging him. Seth noticed there were people gathering around them.

"Yo Nate! Long time no see!" One guy with weird haircut shouted and walked in front of Nathan. "Get lost, I have no time for you" Nathan said with low and silent voice.

"Now, now Nathan. Wouldn't it be nice to have fun like we used to have" The guy said and others were also coming closer to them. Nathan remained silent. "You know Nate, you became so boring after you beated up your own brot-" The guy hadn't chosen his words wisely was sent flying by Nathan. People around Nathan and Seth attacked on Nathan and one of them hitted him with baseball bat from behind.

 

For moment, Nathan didn't move. He slowly turned around having blood dripping on his face having demonic smile on his face. "Well it's my turn now" Nathan said and people started to attack on him on panic. Nathan punched them one after another and soon the fight was over and Nathan and Seth left from scene quickly to not cause any more trouble. Nathan hadn't noticed, but Izaya was watching them from distance clapping his hands. "Splendid! Splendid indeed! I didn't expect you to be this intresting guy! It seems that this game is going to be intense!" Izaya spouted on air as he walked swinging his arms around.

Jenna had listen to Paci's favor for everyone. She then had her face back to normal. "Why? Why would I help people who do not respect or care about me? If it wasn't for me needing some things while I am here, I would say no, but yes I will buy everyone whatever they need, even that stupid animal." Jenna said as she looked over at the dog pawing at the clear garage door and back to Paci. There was then a knock on the door. "I will get that." Jenna said and went to the door and opened it. At the door, there stood a tall muscler guy with black hair and wore a black jacket, a red shirt, black leather pants and black leather shoes. "Jenna, I came as fast as I could." the man said. "Wonderful, now I won't be lonely." Jenna kissed the man on the lips, dragging him outside with her.

"Finally.. We arrived" Seth sighed when he and Nathan arrived in front of the cottage in the middle of the forest. Nathan took key from his pocket and opened door and threw bags inside. "We may rest for while, we walked pretty long way" Nathan said with tone like the way to cottage would have been just beginning of today.

"..." Seth didn't aswer and just went lying on bed. Nathan also remained silent being surprised that Seth didn't respond with any way. "Here, drink it and make yourself home" Nathan said and threw water bottle for Seth. "Ah, thanks" Seth said and drinked. Nathan took cigarette and went outside waiting for Seth to get everything ready. Nathan took his thoughtful attitude and thought: "One month here and we should be able to train our powers we can't even control.. atleast we know our powers and how they behave so it shouldn't be too hard to think up something" Nathan thought and tried to light his cigarette, but his lighter was broken. "Damn.."

 

Seth was setting his stuff inside the cottage. Seth sighed a lot when he thought what kind of hell he would have to go through during the next month. "Atleast I have change to learn how to control my power, although it doesn't matter since police is already looking for me" Seth thought.

Tery's eyes slowly opened, and he pushed himself upright to a sitting position on his bed. He let out a loud yawn and rubbed his eyes, blinking several times. He hadn't gotten very much sleep the previous night, he couldn't prevent his mind from racing over everything that was going on in his life. Well... guess this is how it begins. Day 1.

 

Tery swung his legs off of the bed and slowly stood up, still feeling somewhat drowzy, had a shower, and got dressed. He knelt down on the ground beside the bed he slept in and picked up his purple crystal necklace, having taken it off just before he fell asleep the previous night. He stared at it in his hand for a moment, and his hand tightened slightly around it. He threw it on around his neck and walked downstairs.

 

He reached the dining room and saw cereal and milk sitting out on the counter. Tery found where the bowls were, filled his with cereal and milk, and went to sit down. Maybe it was due to him still being somewhat drowzy, but Tery hadn't realized until now that Luke had gone into the garage on his own and Jenna was with her boyfriend outside, so there was only one other person in the room with him: Pacifica. Tery picked up his cereal and began to slowly walk towards the table. "Um...... good morning, Pacifica."

 

Pacifica looked in Tery's direction, and he immediately felt shy.

Jenna and Zack were walking to a nearby Walmart not too far from where the cabin was. They had taken Zack's red SUV and have now gotten out of it. They walked into the store talking about what would have to happen. "So what you are saying is that you are not the only one with special powers, but all the people we met have powers too?" Zack asked as they walked. "Yeah, but unlike us they are kinda low class." Jenna said. "Well everyone got their problems." Zack said. As they were walking in, they saw Luke standing at a drink machine drinking a Dr. Pepper. "Yo, Jenna and the other dude." Luke said. "Hey Luke, so whats up? Why are you here?" Jenna asked. "Its not really important. Just note that I am going to go back to the cabin to see if anyone would want to start training with me." Luke said as he left to go back to the cabin. Zack and Jenna looked at each other. "That was weird. It is almost like if someone replaced his shoes." Jenna said. They then walked futher into the store and went to get stuff everyone would need. They got loads of different, expensive foods, different toothbrushes so everyone would know which is theirs, toothpaste bottles, soaps, shampoos, etc. They then went to the check out and payed for the items. The cashier raised an eyebrow at them, but didn't say anything. They then left the store with two buggies loaded full of items and then went to unload them in the limo.

"Hi," she said with an almost joyful sigh. Someone she was actually happy to see in the morning despite all the long, stressful hours she had to suffer through yesterday.

 

Almost seeming surprised by her enthusiastic response, he gave her a wide eyed stare from the other side of his cereal filled spoon. "H-Hey."

 

Paci got off her stool and started washing her bowl and spoon in the sink. "Jenna promised me she'd go into the city to to buy you all clothes and other supplies you might need. I'm also going to go into the city to visit my parents and when I get back… I was wondering if maybe you'd like to walk with me to find certain areas along the coast to train?"

 

She turned to face him, staring straight into his eyes as she asked her question. As Tery was still wide eyed and surprised, he could only stammer a faint, "S-Sure."

 

Paci smiled brightly and turned back to drying her dishes.

It didn't take long for Jenna and Zack to drive all the way back to the cabin, due to the fact that they knew shortcuts no one would ever take. Soon they stopped in front of the cabin and took out the fancy items they needed to get the group. They then walked in the cabin carring four large bags. "Okay, so where do you want this stuff?" Jenna asked as she walked through the door with Zack following beside her.

 

Luke had already reached the garage a while ago. He was laying down on old tire with Black Hayate laying on him. Luke had fallen asleep as usual.

Black Hayate wagged his tail as Luke was fast asleep. Black Hayate then stood up and jumped over Luke and barked,licking his face. Luke blinked a few times and looked down at Black Hayate. "Oi,down boy."Luke says with a slight smile as he petted Black Hayate. He rubbed the back of his neck as he satted up and Black Hayate jumped off. He stretched a bit and ruffled his hair as he looked up at a random old mirror that was resting against a table. He stared at the crystal that hung around his neck. It was crystal clear,ordinary loking,yet powerful. He threw it up and catched it in his hand. "Well. We better started that training then."Luke says as he stood up and looked down at Black Hayate,who simply wagged its tail and walked inside. "Wait up boy."Luke says as he followed and entered into the kitchen. Black Hayate satted down in a corner as Luke filled up a bowl of water and served it to Black Hayate. "Here ya go boy." Luke then looked up and turned at the group. He grabbed a chair and spun it backwards before sitting down and resting his arms down on it. "So,guys,what kind of training are we going to do?"Luke asks. They each had different abilities. They would have to train for their own gifts plus psysically.

Seth walked outside and faced Nathan. "Nathan, lets begin the training" "huh?" Nathan said with questioning look. "Lets begin training right now, it's better that I learn to get control over my powers before I burn this cottage down" Seth said and Nathan could see the resolve in his face. "Haha, I'm okay with starting right now, but first we gotta figure out what we can do to get control over out powers" Nathan said trying to ease the tension little bit. "Well first you can be my lighter, since my own broke" Nathan said and passed cigarette to Seth. "Just light it like yesterday" Seth put his index finger on the tip of cigarette and it was lighted. "Looks like you can control your powers little bit" Nathan said and noticed that Seth had still burned the tip of cigarette with too much power. "I really don't have any control to it.. I just took it on my hand and that's it. Same is when I walk I fry the grass by accident" "I see" Nathan said and spun his lighter on his left hand.

 

"Hey I got idea" Nathan said and threw lighter to Seth. "Try to make work" Nathan said to Seth and Seth looked to lighter and then gave weird look to Nathan. "How is that gonna work?" Nathan sighed and then said: "If you can use your powers then there is possibility that you might be able to use fire based items to help you controlling your power. Try something like channeling your power through it and then use it" Seth nodded as mark of his agreement and tried, but his efforts were futile. "It doesn't work" Seth said, but Nathan looked without saying word "Guess I was wrong.. Is there anyway to trigger his powers?"Nathan thought and went inside . "Don't worry about it, we work out something"

 

Seth stayed outside trying to make lighter work "Damn.. Why must this be so hard?" Seth thought getting more impatient as he weren't able to make the lighter work out. "Channel power through it?" Seth asked trying to figure out how that was possible. "I don't even have control of my power so how can I do that?!" Seth shouted and lighter lighted with bright flame, but same time exploded to Seth's hand. Seth shouted from the pain and his hand got few bruises and it bleed, however he didn't get any major injuries. Nathan ran outside "What happened?" Nathan shouted and saw pieces of the lighter on the ground and Seth's hand bleeding.

"Didn't I tell you to not worry about it?!" Nathan shouted and snapped Seth to forehead as hard he could. "I didn't thought that we should open the first aid kit on the first day.. " Nathan said and then dragged Seth inside.

 

"This wound is nothing, we shouldn't waste our time treating it" Seth said with silent and disappointed tone as Nathan put bandage over the wound. "I already told you to not worry about it" Nathan said with annoyed tone. "Besides, now we know that it is possible to use your power that way" Seth just nodded and remained silent.

"I also left note about our whereabouts and my phone number to cabin so we are in touch with others" Nathan said trying to get conservation to somewhere else. "We can also learn from others how they have controlled their powers. We can get through this" "I know" Seth said. "Besides this is just the beginning, we shall go ahead everyone else with MY special training course" Seth sighed to Nathan's enthusiasm about training. "Aye aye"

Chelsea tripped and fell.She skidded a little bit as dust flew up from the ground. Swearing, she got up and dusted herself off. The girl had walked to an empty lot a few blocks away, and was now taking laps. It was the only way she knew how to train. Breathing heavily, she sluggishly walked over a water bottle she had taken from the cabin. She took a swig and wiped her mouth. The sun was hot now, unlike when she had gotten there earlier in the morning. Chelsea hadn't gotten much success at all in the hours. Lap after lap, she couldn't get herself to activate her super speed. She thought about it a little. Maybe she was going at this the wrong way. She walked a few steps over and turned. She took a ready stance. 'Deep breaths.' the girl thought to herself. She focused all of her energy on going fast. Chelsea began to run. She hit something and fell over backwards. Rubbing her head, she looked up. The girl had hit the fence on the other side of the lot! It seemed to her that she had barely taken a step, but she had gone about a hundred yards. A grin formed on her face. "I might just get the hang of this yet." she spoke confidently.

Luke rested his head down. "(Well,I guess I should be able to practice on a few insects...then bigger and bigger till I get the hang of it. If I can heal and unheal tiny insects I'm pretty sure that I can do the same to a human being with enough time.)"Luke thinks. He then stood up and fixed the chair. "Well,if any of you need healing or anything,you can find me outside besides the riverside."Luke says as he walked off and outside. Black Hayate watched as Luke walked outside. Luke walked down the small hill to the river. The day was clear and the river was pretty clean. A few fishes could be seen swimming around. "Alright."Luke says as he rubbed the back of his neck and satted down. "Now,how should I start training...?"Luke asked himself. He looked around and saw a few butterflies fly around. He extended his arm and one landed on his hand. "Hello there."Luke says as the butterfly walked around his hand. He stared and noticed the butterfly had a broken wing. He got his other hand over it. "Let's see..."Luke Says as is crytal started to glow slightly and a slight aura came from his hand down to the butterfly.
