Monty Oum, the creator of Dead Fantasy is creating a new show, called RWBY {Red White Black Yellow} so far, there is a trailer which showcase what I believe is Red, a girl based off of Little Red Riding hood. It's incredibly badass, and the soundtrack so far sounds amazing!

Sad to say, I think this is the last episode I'm watching.  I can't get into it.  It has too much of the overused cliches anime has with not enough originality outside the art style.  It pulls me out of it every time making it very hard for me to get immersed into it.  And this last episode's scene with Weiss, Juane, and Nora was just bad.  That dialogue between them was very uncomfortable to watch.  It felt too unnatural and forced.  I feel like Nora changed her character three times in that sequence that now I'm left having no clue who she is.  It's very disappointing.

 

It's sad because I really wanted to get into this because of how unique the animation style is, but the writing ranges from terrible to slightly amusing which doesn't cut it for me.

you know, I kinda agree with you there. But the thing with me is, I write that off as the VA's problem, I get what the writers are doing, and I like it. Since its just VA for me personally, I tend to be more leniant. But no one blames you, trust me.

Honestly, Weiss is a total brat.

 

Now having said that, I will tell y'all this.  Weiss needs to be a brat for the story to work.  Why?  Well look at RWBY.

[*]Ruby is insecure and has a hard time making friends.

[*]Weiss is a brat.  Doesn't know of friendship or even what it takes to bond with someone.

[*]Blake is quiet, completely introverted.  She likes being this way.

[*]Yang is extroverted.  Fun to be with, but can sometimes be too much for anyone (no offense).

Obviously we have a clash of personalities.  Who wants to watch a show where everyone gets along all hunky dory on the first episode?  It isn't realistic.  I personally like Weiss as the brat she is.  She's true to herself and that's great!  They all have well established personalities and now that we know them for who they are, we get to see them develop, like what Blake said.

^this, like I said before, she probably is.

 

My favorite theme in most stories are how everyone perceives the world.  The world isn't black and white and it probably never will be.  It's many shades of gray and you have to accept the fact that everyone has their own reasons for doing things.  You may think one side is wrong and you're right, but it's like the saying goes.  Have you put yourself into their shoes?  Do you know what Weiss has gone through?  Do you know how it feels to be put into a new school without any friends and immediately hated?  I'm sure some of you know certain things, but you haven't been through all their situations, so I'll just put another cliche out there: Don't judge a book by it's cover.

 

To address Oishii.

 

Although it may have many cliches, how many stories out there contain no cliches?  Close to none.  So the story can be better, sure.  Not everyone is born a great writer and I honestly think this series has something that most don't.  Potential.  It has a huge fandom ALREADY and it will only continue to grow.

well.....the show is okay......good to see that the action will start picking up in the next episode
