Posted November 15, 201212 yr Is it normal for games created from ISO to run a bit slow? Like I was playing KHFM and whenever I moved to a new location(Like from the 1st district in Traverse Town to the 2nd) the game takes a tad bit long to load the next screen. Is this common?
November 15, 201212 yr ISOs are normally supposed to take less time to load, if they're saved on a hard drive or memory stick that the system reads easily from, but if it's on a disc, then it should take about as long as it does with the normal disc version of the game.
November 15, 201212 yr I've noticed that FMV's on burned discs typically have stuttering problems, but otherwise I haven't encountered significant issues. It may be your PS2.
November 15, 201212 yr How are you using this ISO? An ISO is just a game file, how you use it determines how it works. For example, on an emulator the speed will directly correlate to the quality of the emulator and power of your PC. Burning to a disk has a lot more variables that can affect it. Care to elaborate on your means?

I download the ISO file, burn it onto a disc, place Swap Magic into my fat ps2, take it out using a sliding card, put the disc back in and lock it with the sliding card. Then I start playing my slow, downgraded game.

Then I start playing my slow, downgraded game. It's probably that long process that is causing the slowdown. I know that running an ISO directly can lead to drastically improved performance, though that requires a powerful computer
