Sword Art Online General Discussion

Posted

Since I'm a fan of RPG games and anime and since it is the most awaited anime of the summers, I decided to start watching it, and it exceeded my expectation, and now I ask, who else besides me on this site has been watching it and what do you think of it?

The episode 21 were really good, the story progressed quite bit and now I'm really excited for episode 22.

I just don't understand why the name of episode was "the truth of Alfheim"

I can't believe we have to wait a week for Ep 22....

Do you guys think they'll continue the anime after 25 episodes? I really hope they do the other arcs, it's my favourite anime at the moment and I don't want it to end D:

There are 4 arc and the anime is only covering 2, so hopefully we will get a 2nd season

I'm finally free from work, so today I get to enjoy episode 22 early, today is going to be EPIC!Posted Image

Just finished watching newest episode. It was pretty good, but not as good as ep 21. It finally made some drama between Kirito and Sugu though, which is interesting. Fight part was too long in my opinion, just Kirito beating those guardians until he died. And why he didn't buy second sword and just dual wielded his way through? Too easy?

Indeed it would have been better to dual-wield, but even so this episode was shocking, I give it 10 out of 10

Episode 23 of Sword Art Online today everyone, I bet it's going to be a good episode, but it will have to wait until I get out from work at 6pmPosted Image

Again pretty good episode, but few annoying details killed it little bit: I don't understand that Recon's sacrifice, he didn't die and Sugu could have revived him easily so why to make so big deal about it. WHY didn't Kirito buy another sword, wouldn't have been too hard and what the hell was that Deus Ex Machina attack by Kirito in the end? Then why didn't those guardians do anything when they opened that door to teleport? The next episode seems to be interesting though

Just got home from work and saw it, indeed pretty good, the last two episodes should be awesome

Nice episode... and also one detail were discovered. The Admins of that game are a bunch of trollls.... :D

I just realized something. Kirito in his Alfheim form looks like Zack Fair-y : D

Kirito and Asuna are like assemble in Black and White, kinda like Zekrom and Reshiram, and that's my favorite though... xD

I want ep 24 this is going to be a pain for the bad guy Odeom ahahahahahha DIE YOU PEVERT!

So, what is this about exactly? I've seen a lot of things on it.

The first 14 episodes are about MMORPG called Sword Art Online. Basically: you use thing called Nervegear to play it and the fantasy world is like real world to you. Then there is boy called Kirito, who starts playing the and realizes in the first day that he can't log out. Everyone of 10000 players are trapped inside this virtual world and if they character die, they die in real life. However they have chance of getting back by reaching 100. floor of the game. Kirito (main character) was one of the beta testers of the game and decides to beat game and moves as solo player and is among the front lines of people who want to beat game. Soon Kirito meets girl called Asuna and their relationship is one of the main points of the series.

It's pretty good, but nothing spectacular really. The romance is kinda good, the story is not bad. Openings are great, but ost is excluding few songs kinda bad. The fights look good and they aren't filled with Deus Ex Machina attacks. It has zero gore (depending that do you like it or not)

You will like more and more as you watch it

In all honesty, today's episode was kinda crappy. It felt overly cheesy and the episode felt like it was only 12 minutes long. Sugou's personality was completely ruined with that crazy incest scenario (also: he looked soooo bad). It was kinda random that Kayaba suddenly appears and saves Kirito. I know that happy ending was obvious and something that this serie needed, but the outcome of this episode was in my opinion really stupid. I'm kinda interested and same time afraid to see final episode right now. It either is gonna be good and I'm gonna remember series as good or it can be very crappy.. I really do hope the ending is good

I don't remember Asuna being related to Sugou.

Man Sugou was such a hentai...pff, had he reaped Asuna I would have killed him. Asuna is da best in SAO for me. Well it's over guys on ep left and then wait for season two with ALO perfection and GGO. I can't wait, how will I leave w/o new SAO Eps...

stay on topic and don't talk about other anime's

You know what I really dislike about some people's views on the internet? Their dislike for Suguha. (this is in no way singling out someone on here, but is actually from places I've seen like tumblr and what not)

Suguha, whether or not people will admit it or not, is a rather strong character.

Yeah, her love for her cousin (they were never truly siblings) may be a taboo in the western world, which is why some people are disgusted by her, it isn't much of a problem in more Eastern countries. People watching the show or reading the Light Novels seem to disregard or ignore that.

However, what I really think is the issue here is some people's underlining reason behind their hate for Suguha is no other than Asuna. Don't get me wrong I love pretty much most characters in SAO, but when it comes to Kirito and Asuna's relationship, I have witnessed a lot of people pass off Suguha as some kind of horrible person simply because she's struck by love.

Suguha puts a TON of strain on herself because of her feelings already, and she knows that Kirito is already in love with someone else; however, she just can't help herself. Somehow she continues to try and be the bigger person and try to move on from her love for Kazuto/Kirito. To put it simply, Suguha's whole development revolves around the phrase:

"If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were."

She understands that Kirito would be happier with Asuna, and even though it pains her she is willing to let him go for the sake of his happiness. To me that takes a WHOLE lot of strength for a person to do. She COULD HAVE been exactly as how a lot of the fandom tends to depict her as: A selfish girl who just wants to keep Kazuto for herself. Does she? No. She does the exact opposite despite the pain it gives her. If she is really as bad of a person as a lot of people make her out to be, she would have left Kirito to fend for himself when he went to go save Asuna.

I think Suguha is a great character with a strong personality, and I really can't see any actual reason for people to hate her like some do. If anyone here really loves the show I would suggest reading the Light Novel too (you can find it online easily) because it really goes into more detail about things, shows greater character development, and is also further on in the series if you want to skip ahead. c:

I agree with you in that there's too much hate on Suguha. I like her she's the hero that makes you laugh and because of her Kirito was able to save Asuna. If It hadn't been for Leafa then Kirito would never go to the World Tree or even have the other factions help in the "Grand Quest". For me Suguha is a very nice hero but not for Kirito. Okay She may love him but he loves Asuan he would even give his life for her. He sees her like his sister (yes not a cousin anymore). Also she SPOILER will help Kirito later on the game. And BTW sry Kaiso I just wanted to take sb's opinion about Guilty Crown and Code Geass I got it if I need sth about them I'll make a thread if it isn't any refering to this :)
