Hi guys, in this thread I will give u my opinion about Kh3D, I've played this game and it was really cool and fun game to play, but it got some disappointing things and cons, we all know that there is no game without cons. Let's start
Story:
The story is cool without a doubt, but I just didn't like how they shorten some of them like: The Grid and Prankster's Paradise. In Prankster's Paradise, it's like cutting most of the movie and only having the last quarter of the movie. The Grid disappointed me when Sora couldn't save Rinzler (I know they have to walk with the movie) but still they could've done something about it.
Characters:
Characters were cool, they chose a great characters to appear in each world, but was disappointed in some worlds for it few characters, for example La Cite Des Cloches: come on Nomura u brought most of the characters and u couldn't bring Esmerelda's donkey, Phoebus's horse and Clopin?
Prankster's Paradise: Couldn't u AT LEAST bring Lampwick, what about Castor as a boss fight in The Grid, wouldn't it be cool? cuz I felt characters weren't enough in worlds I just mentioned.
Environment:
- We all know how Birth by Sleep got one or two people to talk to in each world, which was a bad thing that affected the rate of it in most of the reviews (I don't care about rates personally specially with my favorite games) but still the game really got a lot of hallow worlds, and now KH3D became worse instead of better. Now there is NO ONE to talk to in KH3D except the characters in the storyline of each world (only while ur doing the story) and Moogle, which is a way bad thing because we know how having people is cool in each world I mean imagine what would happen if we saw Neku or anyone in Traverse Town just standing( AT LEAST STANDING), it would be a bet cooler than just having Nightmares in ur face.
- Side quests, KH3D made a good job in making portals as side quests (although they were all repetitive), but wouldn't it be better if it was from people? I mean look how it was cool to talk to people in Twilight Town and have some side quests (KH2), we can't forget about talking to some Organization members and having a small quests (Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days), even Re:Coded got a side quests from people, which was cool thing to have and to do after beating the game. Look how FFXIII became less enjoyable just because of having quests and missions from a machine.
- Places and designs, they made an amazing KH3D worlds, they were so huge which fix KH problem in BBS small places in each world, but I was disappointed about some worlds for example: The Grid, I know how the movie was cool, and I understand that they made the world as what the movie showed, but still having everything blue was a bit boring and less cheering to investigate. Also Symphony of Sorcery, the most thing I was excited to explore is Bald Mountain, after I saw the trailer, I was expecting something like investigating the city near the mountain, walking along until the mountain to fight Chernabog, I was expecting some fights with goblins or souls which would be cool, they should've brought that, I mean we all know how Night on Bald Mountain was one of the famous parts in the movie Fantasia. We can't forget about the tower itself, I was expecting some more deeper designs in this place, for example the well that brooms take the water from, and stuff like that. As I said: the worlds are really cool but these were just some things I got disappointed about.
Dream Eaters and party members:
A lot of people liked the Dream Eaters idea and I respect that, but don't u guys think that they conquered most of the game? I mean it's a cool to have them in two sides: Spirits and Nightmares, it's cool to level them up with many ways, but it became overmuch. They also became the party members for the whole game which is something I didn't like at all, we had the chance of having some cool Disney or TWEWY characters as party members, but Spirits took it all. I mean wouldn't it be cool if Neku joined u in the first fight against Nightmares? wouldn't it be cool if Phoebus or Quasimodo joined ur team to search for gypsies hideout? wouldn't it be cool if we had the beloved characters: Donald and Goofy as Musketeers ( for example they join with you and each of them fight but with his personality, like Goofy fight a little but he miss some of his attacks, and Donald attack a little then become afraid) I know things like that would be really cool instead of putting 50 SPIRITS.
Flowmotion and Reality Shift:
Those two were an amazing things to have in KH3D, Square Enix made a great job in having these two, but if u guys remember one of KH3D trailers shows Sora using flowmotion then spinning around the flag in La Cite Des Cloches then making Buzz Saw, while using Buzz Saw he cut it and flow again then attack with Kick Dive. Which means that they were planning to make flowmotion a bit more freer than what it is now by cutting a move u made in flowmotion to do another flowmotion move which would be a cool thing, but still flowmotion is a great thing even now.
Summons and D-links:
I was really disappointed about not having any of those, they would've changed the weather somehow if they were in the game, or at least making something new in the same way, but they sadly added 50 Spirits instead of this.
Keyblades:
I REALLY REALLY liked the way of having different keyblades for both Sora and Riku in the same world, because that was a problem that BBS had, but was disappointed that it only happened in Prankster's Paradise, but let's hope that its a sign for more different keyblades in future titles.
Commands:
It was a cool thing to have a special commands for each Sora and Riku to make each of them special.
Mini Games:
Mini games were really few in KH3D, and also as I said before: Dream Eater conquered the game, I mean most of the mini games are only for Dream Eaters which is a bad thing and might end up with becoming bored very fast. In BBS we had many different kinds of mini games which was cool.
Arena and Tournaments:
I can't believe how they removed that in KH3D, tournaments were really a fun thing to have in most of kh games, it's true that they didn't put it in BBS, but hey they added Mirage Arena to have some cool arena fights, I can't believe how they turned all that into Flick Rush, it's really disappointing.
Multiplayer:
I was really disappointed about not having something like Mirage Arena, multiplayer became less enjoyable after KH BBS (Re:Coded and 3D).
Secret and Optional Bosses:
- Frog Prince was a cool optional boss to have, I also liked how he escape and we start searching for him.
- Julius was a cool secret boss to have, but was really disappointed how he was the only one to have, not only that, we always got a secret boss that gives a sign about the next game and he is usually a KH character (KH1FM: Xemnas sign for OrgXIII in KH2, KH2: Lingering Sentiment sign for TVA armored keyblade wielders in BBS, BBS: Mysterious Figure sign for some timeline things in KH3D, but Julius?! he is not even a KH character.
*I remember Nomura once said that all KH3D Disney worlds will be new, he surely did what he said, but let's look at the hidden thing. Prankster's Paradise: we had Monstro before and now he took him back with it world. Symphony of Sorcery: some parts of that world are the same as Mysterious Tower parts. The Grid, hey it's Tron world= Space Paranoids.
For me, the only worlds I felt they were COMPLETELY new: La Cite Des Cloches and The Country of the Musketeers, with all my respect to other worlds.
*I understand the pressure of the space, but I am sure what made it full is the overmuch care of Dream Eaters. Nomura once said that there was a big pressure to add things in BBS, but he ended up adding Realm of Darkness in the Final Mix. I am not saying that he lies but u can just understand it the way u want.
*Thanks for giving some of ur time to read this, sorry for some wrong Grammar stuff and sorry for the long thread but that was my opinion that I kept inside me for a long time and now it's out
