Firaga 5,947 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) "Father, I finally understand your feelings… The freedom you felt when you chose to die to protect your friends…" A, uh, tribute for the fallen.... I-If you're a little, um, confused what I mean by that statement....then I suggest you go read the newest manga chapter for Naruto, or more likely, the newest one as of today (12/20/12). If you already know, then....well...I felt it was just. Remember back a little awhile ago? Around maybe, uh, between the Hidan and Kazuku Arc and Invasion Of Pain Arc? I think it was back then...well, regardless of when it started, or even if its still prevelent now, I might think...rememeber when we had all those fans complaining about killing off important characters? Well, I'd like to ask those same people, the same people are now sad or even outraged...at what has happened now. I have to be honest here: Neji was my boy. I-I thought that he was pretty much one of the guys in this series, like, the man. I mean, we have the main cast with Naruto and Sasuke and Kakashi and them...but let's be honest here, without characters like Neji, they're hopeless. Let's not forget one of Neji's most prominent moments in the series, being his Chunin Exam Arc battle with Naruto. Not only was he was he a proverbial stepping stone for the boy in orange himself, but then after he steppped up in the SRS Arc, he had already grown on us as a fanbase as a great person and of course a great friend. Now, he didn't get much time in Part II/Shippuden...but hey, I can't say I don't expect more, because, let's be honest, he's a supporting character. He's not supposed to have a lot of screen time. However, he is one of the few characters in this series who I personally believe should--or, I guess...should have...gotten more screen time. He was a great shinobi, always kicking ass, in whatever the battle, whatever outcome was, and no matter who it was he was fighting. Both his fight with Naruto and Kidomaru will always be two of my favorite fights in the series; even the little spots he got with Kisame and that carbon copy was pretty cool, if you ask me. To conclude...I think Neji will be a missed character for sure. His death was, in it of itself, inspirational as you can see how he's come full circle...from an arrogant and angry lower-branch member of the Hyuga Clan...to a man who is willing to put his life on the line for his comrades. You did see that Curse Mark fade away in those last few panels, right? I sure did. Now, Neji, you can finally be free from your cage. 17 years of being trapped...and now you can fly like a bird. (WAY Big Picture, I know...) R.I.P. Neji Hyuga. Born, July 15. Died, December 18. Cousin to Hinata, Son to Hizashi, Nephew to Hihashi, Friend to Naruto. May this fanclub bring together his followers and may his name be remembered in their fan love for him. Ultima Weapon 71 Posted December 21, 2012 I love Neji, is one of the best characters that the Naruto manga has ( and one of my favorites). And I'm really disapointed of the way he died, it was pretty lame ( a couple sticks, please) Anyway I'm still hoping that he revives somehow .
nenni32 31 Posted December 21, 2012 I just couldn't believe HE died. I thought one of them was going to die during this war but I just didn't think it would be Neji. I was always on and off with Neji. Sometimes I loved him while others didn't really care. But I am definitely going to miss him. Rest in peace buddy! 2 Firaga and RikuVazquez reacted to this
Hei 3,233 Posted December 21, 2012 It's a shame that he wasn't show more in the series during Shippuden. Gonna miss the guy though, one of my favorite Naruto, if not any anime, characters. R.I.P Neji Hyuga. 2 RikuVazquez and Firaga reacted to this

This is Naruto; anything that's thrown at you, that has chakra in it, hurts like a motherf**ker. We've seen that in Neji's case...unfortunatley... No, he shouldn't be revived. It would be both as meaningful and disrespectful as Jiraiya coming back. His development is done, and so is his relevance. As much as I want him to stay...well...he's done his time. Now he can be free. Edited December 21, 2012 by Firaga96

Number XV 490 Posted December 21, 2012 Eh, he actually was like my seventh favorite character, but I think his death was pretty badass, and I did like the imagery Kishi used. 1 Firaga reacted to this
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted December 21, 2012 I didn't really care for Neji. But I didn't hate him either. His death was quite sudden and handled VERY well, imo. The art was great, the dialogue was great, and the characterization of everyone involved was handled well. This is the way deaths in stories should be handled. R.I.P. Shulk 8,623 Posted December 21, 2012 To be honest, when I started with the series, I hated Neji. The way he acted towards Hinata didn't go off well with me. After watching Naruto SD, he kinda grew on me, and I began to like him a lot more. He's definitely one of the better characters in the series, and he's definitely earned a fan in me. I haven't read the new chapter yet, but I already had it spoiled for me, and I honestly couldn't believe it. One of the Konoha 11, dead... I'd expected Sasuke or Naruto to go first, but Neji... RIP Neji. Your death was not in vain. 1 Firaga reacted to this

You're right, his death would be meaningless if the story was more serious. I Still think it was really crappy the way Neji died (not why, just the way ,Neji had already been pierced by a giant arrow and survived, I do not think that something like it can kill him) I simply don't like how Kishimoto is ending the manga, or maybe I just had really high expectations for Neji, I just can't assimilate his dead. -_- Edited December 22, 2012 by Ultima Weapon

I'm over him, now, and I'm sure you can find a way to get over Neji. It'll be tough, I know...but you just gotta keep your head up to the sky. He's in a better place now. I'm not entirely caught up to the point of its revival yet (Having friends that are means getting spoiled every week) but I understand that an attack from it would probably kill. 1 Firaga reacted to this

I'm kinda speculating that Tsunade could die and pass on the position of Hokage to Naruto, but I don't want to see any of the others share a fate with Neji...
