I think he was just creating a base for it to appear when Vanitas uses the x-blade to unlock it. Kind of like when magicians summon creatures or demons.  I don't know how else to explain it, but that is what I think he was doing.  Or he could have found a way to reach the real Kingdom Hearts; I don't know.

The X-blade was destined to appear then? MX rambled on a lot about fate and things being predetermined so maybe Kingdom Hearts just knew.

It is one of the many thing that Nomura retconned we have never actually seen the true Kingdom Hearts. The one in BBS was also a fake made by MX, had the X-blade actually been forged it would have immediately summoned the hearts of every world to that point thus creating the real Kingdom Hearts.

Well Master Xehanort has a twisted sense of what fate is, the X-blade was never meant for mortal hands MX is forcing it to appear. The reality of it is that MX has manufactured every event that has occured so far, so anything of "fate" that occurs by his own hand is forced and therefore is unnatural.

There's a lot of things to the Kingdom Hearts series that I understand, but Kingdom Hearts itself is not one of them. >_<  I've always been so confused about that!  But, as Xaon said above, I kind of think all the Kingdom Hearts we've seen weren't real.

It was an artificial form of kingdom hearts which would give xehanort the power he needed to obtain the true 1 by opening the DTD with the help of 7 princesses. 

 

KH 3D: mickey: i should have realized when maleficent started gathering the 7 princesses of heart, it was all your doing.
