It's ridiculous that kingdom hearts is still PS3 only

Posted

yeah i know, brought up before, but its something i just can't stand now more than ever.

yeah kingdom hearts started out on PS2 but that was back when PS2 was king of home consoles and widely something that people liked. and since kingdom hearts 2's release all the other consoles are on a lot more of a level playing field, especially with a lot of problems the PS3 has and square still wants it to stay Play station only on consoles even though they have used nintendo handhelds for most of their handheld games.

yeah maybe there are some limiting factors from it becoming completely multi-platform. I won't try and say the xbox is perfect or as good graphics wise as PS3 and i wont fight for a release on it. but what about the Wii U? graphics wise its pretty much on par with everything and the discs for it are 25GB, and its not like KH3 will probobly take a big graphical leap whenever it does come out with what we've seen of 1.5 so it wouldnt really be a problem if it came out on Wii U and probobly at that point PS4. but yeah maybe they dont want to take any risks if Wii U falls short in some departments

but you know what really ticks me off? why it's not on PC. PC is above the current generation of consoles graphics wise, and i doubt many people wouldn't have powerfull enough graphics cards considering this game is PS2/3DS level graphics. its not like its going to be a storage problem, and it's not like there would be a confusion problem since 1.5 is the beggining of the franchise. Even Namaco has finally brought the Ace combat series onto PC which has been primarily console for years. It's certainly not a lack of PC capable developers since they have the FF14 team, and it wouldnt be taking up their time like making the game from scratch on PC would, all the assets are already there. and it certainly isnt a distribution problem, they can publish games on PC, their entire catalog of games they have published on steam is having a 4 day long sale, and final fantasy 11 is on there. even if they didnt want to use steam they have used their own means to distribute 7 on PC.

I just find it ridiculous how closed they are making Kingdom hearts when they are a third party developer. theres no reason not to put it on PC at least, at most it should be on PC and Wii U.

Hmmm it's exclusive because it's a marketing strategy, and is for selling more consoles, in this case ps3, when the companies make their games multiconsole is because they fear they don't going to sell enough to make profits, in the case of the KH they are so sure they going to sell it that they can make it exclusive. And that strategy really works they made me buy a psp just to play the KH BbS and a NintendoDS to play 358/2days. (OMG I guess I'm a fanboy after all, but a Kingdom hearts fanboy)

your logic is flawed in several areas.

number 1 square enix does not profit at all from PS3 sales, square enix isnt trying to sell more console they are trying to sell more games, and they would do that a lot better if KH was on PC and maybe wii U.

2 companies dont make games multiconsole out of fear its to make more money. if i had a fantastic game i knew was going to do well on console i would defeniately port it over to another one that could handle it so i could make even more money and get a larger fanbase. being multiconsole dosent degrade quality.

FEZ which is currently an xbox eclusive has plans to be ported to several differnt consoles its so good

valve a PC distributor makes their games playable on console even though it could do fine just with sales on PC. Does portal 2 being multi-console mean it couldnt stand on its own? or half-life 2? or left 4 dead? no, it dosent.

Pffff please don't compare it with the games for download they are nice games but not the better, and half life wasn't multiconsole at the beginning, they made ports for other consoles later, and how could you possibly know that square enix doesn't have some kind of profit, maybe sony don't give them cash but obviously they have some arrangement, business are business.

Yes, because getting a Wii U for $300 is so much more expensive then getting a PS3 for $300.

If you think the Wii U is expensive, think back to getting a PS3 back at launch. Only reason why I don't regret my $599 US Dollar purchase is because it can upscale PS1/PS2 games. Heck, even the Xbox 360 too; it was just as much as the Wii U. (sorry if my memory is bad in case I'm wrong)

Check that out and say that the Wii U and the PS3 are the same price -_-

it dosent matter its still the smae principle download or not, you can't say it applies to games that only have physical copys, FEZ was a massive succes and making it multiplatform is going to make it even more of a succes. being one console just limits a games sucess, you can't argue against that. and keeping a game to one platform dosent magically make it better

at the begining or not half-life was still eventually ported, and portal 2 was multi-console from the begining.

and i highly doubt square has some kind of arangement with PS3 since KH and FF are the ONLY games square keeps strictly on that platform and handheld, if they really did have a deal all of their games would be PS3 only.

I agree that Square has no arrangement with Sony, but Final Fantasy isn't strictly on Sony systems (though they never left) as you have suggested look at the Nintendo handhelds getting spinoffs/remakes of FF games and Xbox getting FFXIII and its sequels.  Kingdom Hearts has been on Nintendo consoles and mobile phones too.  Square isn't nearly as devoted to any console as they were back in the PS1/PS2 days.  As for this specific game it cannot be stressed enough that Square is making this gamefor the Japanese market first and foremost (international release is important but KH is seemingly more popular in Japan) that means PS3 is going to be the home console of choice at the moment for an HD remaster.

Far out! Kh1.5 will stay only for PS3 no matter what! I'm already sick of people saying that kh1.5 should be on Xbox and whatnot, and I've hardly seen any!

Nobody wants KH on Wii U! Wii/Wii U isn't the right console for such a game. DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was available on Wii and it sucked. Don't want a KH Game to suck too. Just let it be how it is, it's the best for the perfect performance.

I want a KH for Wii U
