Dave 5,715 Posted February 18, 2013 Something I always get a kick out of when playing through Kingdom Hearts. Even when Riku has the power of Ansem and Darkness in him... he still only has as much HP as Captain Hook. That's not saying anything ill about Riku. That's saying how much of a champ the Cap'n is. 7 Rayo_Rojo, Queen Tery, Xaldin III and 4 others reacted to this
Weiss 8,279 Posted February 18, 2013 Captain hook is epic like that
Indecypher 495 Posted February 18, 2013 Yeah, I saw Hook under the Video Game section of the Badass Normal page on Tv Tropes: Captain Hook in the Kingdom Hearts series counts as this. Consider it this way. By the time you reach him in the first game, Sora has punched out very powerful heartless, a god-like genie, god-like entities in general, villains the size of smallbuildings, etc. You have an insane aerial advantage over Hook as well. Also, he's not overflowing with the power of darkness either (at least compared to other villains) and lacks real magic. Yet somehow, he still manages to put up a good, solid fight and doesn't die. It's not an isolated incident either. Captain Hook is tough to beat in both Chain of Memories and Birth by Sleep as well.

I would die on Captain Hook so many times it wasn't funny. But it wasn't because he was a good fighter or anything, ITS BECAUSE HE KEPT THROWING FIRETRUCKING BOMBS AT ME EVERY FIRETRUCKING SECOND!!!! The bombs literally follow you, they're almost impossible to dodge through, and you're in a very enclosed space to fight. I would get bombarded by the bombs(no pun intended there) and die. Then i just decided to make my deck into the Sonic Blade deck, and Captain Hook didn't stand a chance. But still, i got so frustrated with Hook that it was ridiculous. Reyn 1,755 Posted February 27, 2013 When in Rome. What does that mean?
Indecypher 495 Posted February 27, 2013 What does that mean? It's a shortened version of the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
Reyn 1,755 Posted February 28, 2013 It's a shortened version of the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Oh, got it then. When in rome, do as the romans do, and spam sonic blade to win fights in COM. I think 90% of the fights in COM(the GBA version) can be won with the Sonic Blade deck. As long as you have elixirs to reload all cards, including ones that dissapear in sleights.
_The Door To Light_ 1,507 Posted February 28, 2013 Bleh, I hated when Captain Hook unleashed those barrels with bombs inside of them in Re:COM. But I agree with you, that is pretty funny.

aquaguardian 9 Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) I never had any trouble with him and I always skipped Halloween Town- I did never land before HT. I just wasn't impressed by him! But I have to admit I havn't played CoM yet so I will see about that. Edited March 11, 2013 by aquaguardian
