February 21, 201312 yr Black will have a whip, surely. But I don't think anyone but Red will be based off fairy tales. I think RoosterTeeth themselves said they wouldn't. The animation in White is definitely much better than Red was. I'm looking forward to this so much!

Actually, Monty (the creator and director of RWBY) admitted in a podcast that the looks are based off of the fairy tales (or at least inspired), but that's where the similarities stop. The story and everything was said to be completely different from the original stuff they came from. It's kinda like how Stein from the anime Soul Eater is based off of and inspired by Dr. Frankenstein, but aside from his looks he has nothing to do with the original story that he was inspired from. I quite like that, actually. And White is based off of Snow White. Her name is Weiss Schnee, which is "white snow" in German. Reverse that, and you get Snow White. Plus, she's white, like snow. Geddit? *slaps knee*
