There's a Pokémon subforum, so why not?

FORENOTE: I WILL NOT BE COVERING EVERY FREAKING POKEMON THING IN HERE PLEASE UNDERSTAND ;-;

So Wizard was bored yet again, so she made this.

Brace yourselves for information you can easily find on Google!

Warning: Wizard ain't no one got time fo dis, then get out.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pokéfacts:

1. Capsule Monsters, Pocket Monsters

This my friends, is a heart-rending story.

As you might know, the creator of Pokémon is Satoshi Tajiri. You'd be surprised to hear what he went through to bring Pokémon where it is now.

It all started in the 1994-1995. Satoshi was actually inspired by bug-collecting and hobbies such as that. Game Freak hired him for his sheer creativity. So that being, Satoshi implied the concept, collect monsters in a capsule and travel places, which was rejected many times by the Company stating that it was weird. What.

Anyways, that aside, his peek was actually captured by Miyamoto another Director of many of Nintendo's awesome games like LoZ, Mario and what not. Miyamoto monitored Satoshi and thus came Pocket Monsters in Japan. While localizing, shortened, Pokémon.

And for this single game, Nintendo almost went BANKRUPT, 5 authorities dropped out and Satoshi actually went unpaid hours, didn't get his salary. Depressing. But then you could see from the game, every concept and idea was made with lotsa love <3

Although the story, Pokémon did not hit off at first. it had modest sales, but soon after the Mew event  (luring 750 something thousand participants) the franchise became a huge hit.

2. Red/ Blue/ Yellow/ Green

Okay, that aside.

Why did Nintendo plan on making so many firetrucking copies of just one freaking game? Simple answer: Miyamoto Innovation Prowerz.

Not only was it way of raising Nintendo's burnt money, there were only a few specifc Pokémon you could catch in a specific game (like in pokémon Diamond, Dialga) this urged players to trade with their friends, which was actually cool back in the day.

3. Gen 2 - Psychic, Dark and Ghost

After the awesome hit off, the birth of Gen 2, my personal fave region, came into running. In this a bunch of more Pokémon including the three new types, Ghost, Psychic and Dark were introduced. There was significance in the three types linking to the fighting types. The dark type moves, 'Bite' and 'Crunch' were considered to be unruly type of battle, thus making it weak to disclipined type of battle, the fighting types. I'm not too sure with the Psychic and Ghost types atm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pokérumors
Note: I cannot assure anything here, these are by far only rumors. And these are WIDE-SPREAD rumors NOT trivial ones likes Lvl.49 Magikarp.
1. Pokémon MMORPG
There was some word going on with an online Pokémon Massive Multiplayer Online. This could've been an awesome step for the franchise but a recent announcement confirmed that there is no such thing in planning. Spoilsport.
2. Mew
Ah Mew. The Pokémon which was left out from the original Pokérap. As per stated by the directors and staff at the Pokémon Company, Mew could NOT be attained by any other means than cheats or an event. However, a little digging around spread two rumors on how you can actually catch it.
1. The Truck xD
This started all of the shiz
Rumor has it, if you surf around the area of SS Anne, to the right, you land on an area with truck. If you use Strength on it, pop-up Mew!
2. Bill's 'Secret Garden'
This is some complex thing with Electrabuzz. You actually enter an area behind Bill's house, and encounter Mew there. But, you have to come right out of the garden and Bill's house, and SAVE or else your Mew WILL DIE *in Gannon's voice
3. Digital Monsters .__.
"I seriously don't know where this rumor came from, but someone said you can get a number of Digimon in Pokémon games."
I don't know either. It's probably garbage but yet an interesting rumor.
Pokémysteries and myths - The fun part cB
Okay as the Pokémon Company is known for its awesome gaming, rundown anime, it is also wideknown for its awesome yet creepy mysteries. You can see where I'm going with this.
Some of these are not verified by Nintendo or the Pokémon Company. It's upto you if you trust it or not.
1. missingno.
Ah, a bio bout myself. I'm flattered.
One of the most widely know glitch about Pokémon HAS to be missingno. There are many theories surrounding missingno. but as far as I've collected, missi was supposed to be a Pokémon actually a part of the original 151. It was supposedly assumed to be a pre or an evolution of Kangaskhan, namely Marowak. But last minute changes decided that this was not the case, thus in production, in the Pokédex, the 'Pokémon' was added as MissingNumber aka Missingno. As in how to get Missingno. if you're particularly curious, in Pokémon Red, talk the old coffee guy, he teaches you to catch Pokémon. After that, fly to Cinnabar City and surf very close to the shore. Wild Battle Music! Viola, missingno. Although, I'm pretty sure you attain this through a cheat.
2. Mum, where do you sleep?
Okay this is a firetrucking depressing point. I can strike out myself and tell you, your 'Mum' in the games has no bed to sleep in. Seriously, look at you kid, you have your own little room. Where does mum sleep? In the firetrucking kitchen?
3. What do you guys even eat?
Are everyone in the Pokémon universe vegetarians? I'm not willing to believe otherwise... o.e
4. The 'God'
Arceus. I'm talking about Arceus not Shana. Seriously, if Arceus is the creator of man and Pokémon, and man made Pokéballs, wouldn't it be blasphemous if you caught, or to say, trapped a God Pokémon in a small cramped up ball?
Last,
Creepypastas
I'm getting real tired of yer shit wizard, pls stop.
Okay, everyone knows Pokémon creepypastas and how well they can ruin our childhood. These, are obviously fan fiction horror. I can waste my life trying to type a complex essay about all of that, but it's much better if you get to youtube and watch them yourself.
There's much more than this, the Lavender Town high frequencies, Ash's Coma Theory xD and also Gary's Raticate. Not to also include the Haunted Chateau. But I'll save that for a later time trolololo
Post any more of this if you find and please, hard work and love was put into this ;-;
Hope Wizard killed you with spam text kthnxbai :3
Sweet work Shera ^_^
But I have a question
Do you watch Tamashii Hiroka or Jwittz on Youtube????
Those two has two of the biggest Pokemon youtube channel I ever seen.....especially Jwittz and his Pokemon fact of the day videos.....I LOVE HIS VIDEOS
+
As for the vegetarian thing
In an episode they've shown a cooked Magikarp and sometimes they've shown real fishes or birds
But it's still kinda confusing to me and I think it's much better not to think about it.....It's like thinking what they eat in Final Fantasy and they end up telling you they eat those adorable little Moogles.....Kupo
+
There is an interesting theory about why Ash doesn't age.
in Ho-oh's Black & White 1 & 2 Pokedex entry,it states that Ho-oh grants eternal happiness to those who sees it.
Since Ash's idea of Eternal happiness is Pokemon battles,it's possible that Ho-oh granted his wish somehow and made him ageless
+
Note: Missigno can also evolves into Rhydon
haha and thanks for the info!
As far as I heard, Missingno could evolve into Kangaskhan. And I think I've seen a few of Jwittz. And about Ash, does that mean he'll be immortal? PLOT TWIST!
This really opened my mind. O.o Thank you.
One of the books in Canalave Library explicitly describes the consumption of Pokémon as food:
"Sinnoh Folk Story 1"
Pick clean the bones of Pokémon
caught in the sea or stream.
Thank them for the meals they
provide, and pick their bones clean.
When the bones are as clean as can
be, set them free in the water from
which they came.
The Pokémon will return, fully
fleshed, and it begins anew.
Also, I'm pretty sure Farfetch'd's Dex entries state it to be a popular delicacy, that being the reason why they're rare; they were hunted for food. Then you have stuff like Moomoo Milk...
Missingno./glitch "evolutions" are simply the result of index number placement; Rhydon is 01 (fun fact, Rhydon was also the first 'mon ever created), Kangaskhan is 02, glitches are either 00 or placed after Victreebel (190), hence their "evolving" into them, because they're the first two indexed.
p.s. you must not know much Pokétrivia if this is all you've compiled...example: there's been a working Mew capture glitch for almost ten years now.
But then again, you cant survive on just MooMoo milk. Unless they use Miltank for many reasons than that firetrucking rollout... o.o
About missingno: As I've heard it was supposedly a last minute change (as stated to Kangaskhan and then decided it wouldn't be), since re-progamming and re-glitching would be too time consuming the company stored missingno in an empty memory location in the pokédex. This is as far as I know.
and there are many more than to this, i cant compile everything in one post. Thanks for the info!
Before anyone else mentions F.E.A.R., I'm going to pitch in with my two cents on it; it was started by a bunch of guys screwing around on GameFAQs, not Marriland (I wish I had saved the topic...), it was never meant to be serious, and it will always stand for "f***ing evil annoying rodent".
You watch Marriland???? Dude I love his playthroughs and I'm currently watching his HeartGold Wedlocke challenge playthrough(It's similar to Nuzlocke but with little differences)
I do not (I only mentioned him because he was very influential around late '06-early '07, being the only person who recorded full walkthroughs at the time), and I hate Nuzlockes.
 Okay so I know most of this stuff, but what's the deal with the Haunted Chateau? And did you know that the ghost of the little girl who gives you the Lunar Wing in B2W2 can be seen in Black and White on  Marvelous Bridge but she disappears when you get close, much to the shock of the guy standing next to her.
There's also a Mew glitch which you need an Abra in order to suceed.
Actually there were only 2 types introduced in the 2nd Gen: Dark and Steel. The Psychic and Ghost types were already around in the first Generation. In fact, the Steel and Dark types were made to try and counteract the somewhat overpowered Psychic type. The Steel type, along with moves like Curse and new Pokemon like Skarmory and Blissey helped define most of today's "Defensive" strategy.
