So when the Destiny Islands were being Swallowed by Darkness and Sora found Kairi in their Secret place, and she vanished into him, that was Kairi's heart that Sora saw, and that was the point in time where her heart entered Sora, right?

 

I was always confused on that part, it never made any sense to me, i was always wondering, "At what point in time did Kairi's heart have time to join Sora?"

Yes, that is correct.

It's confusing because the games never addressed the heart's ability to project a "body" around itself. It's just a thing that happens for various reasons and ways whenever the plot needs it to. In the case of Kairi it was to confuse the kupo out of us, but yeah, when Sora found Kairi in the cave she had already lost her heart.

I always thought that was when it happened lol, cuz after i played through the game the first time and i remembered Sora and Riku's talk "Kairi's inside me?"

i went back and played the game again and i was like "oooohhh this is when she went inside him"

That is the whole reason i was confused. I never knew that the heart could project a "body" around itself. But then again, Ventus did in his story after he destroyed Vanitas(When he said, "I remember now. This is your heart").

 Yeah, the whole meta-body thing has been around for a while but it's never been brought attention to in game, which is weird because it happens ALL the time and not just with main characters. That's how Heartless exist (well Emblem ones anyway), they don't have real bodies so their hearts produce substitute bodies out of darkness.

 

Sora, Ansem SoD, Kairi, and Riku all had these meta-bodies at some point with various stability in just the first game.
