Koko 3,944 Posted May 8, 2013 Today I was called by the pretzel place at the local mall for a job interview. It's my first and while I'm pretty good at making first impressions when necessary, I'd still like some advice because I REALLY NEED A JOB. So any advice you have to give me about presentation, answering questions, etc., will be appreciated!
Paranoia 494 Posted May 8, 2013 Dress appropriately for the position. Take it serious, but you don't need to be extremely formal for a cashier position. Be as honest with the person as possible. Be as calm as you can and things should go well for you. Its okay to flub up words, we're only human, but try not do it often.
Oishii 3,987 Posted May 8, 2013 Try reading up a little about the place you're interviewing for. You don't have to be an expert about everything but it helps to know a little about where you're going to be working. If they have a website then it's easier cause you can look at the menu and they usually have an About page. And don't mention that you're Satan. Let them hire you and witness your glory before you depart this extraordinary news to them. 2 Koko and Kinode reacted to this

Guest Posted May 8, 2013 Show energy, but not too much, if the interviewer cracks a joke, laugh a bit, but not like a really light chuckle, or a hyena like one. And trust me, since I do interviews, the interviewer is VERY nervous, mostlikely more than you.
Javelin434 3,164 Posted May 8, 2013 Firm handshake to show confidence, but make sure your palms aren't sweaty due to nervousness. That sets a horrible first impression and may ruin your chances. 1 Koko reacted to this

Static15 90 Posted May 9, 2013 I actually just finished a job interview...it went ok in my opinion...i couldve done better but the main thing is be yourself. They put me on the spot a few times to the point where I had to make up a few stories and exaggerate a little so hopefully you can think on your feet. But other than that, dress well, be confident and just flow with it....and what everyone else said...they won't guide you wrong...
CJ Smith 123 Posted May 9, 2013 Have you seen Ted(Seth Mcfarline, Mila Kunis)? Don't do that, personal experience talking. Good luck
