Do you really consider Terra to be a damsel in distress? I mean, she's a really good fighter and she has Trance.

Not at all.

Terra is definitely not a damsel in distress. The only time we see her in any real state of weakness is at the beginning  when she's being used by the Empire, and even then, it's because she's being mind controlled and has never experienced free will in her life. After that, she's extraordinarily capable with her own powers.

Terra is more than capable of taking care of herself; the Returners need her help.  In the beginning, she's confused about what's going on, and she's hesitant about what side to fight for.  Once she makes her decision, she's anything but a damsel.  The only time she's truly in trouble is when she lost her fight against Phunbaba, and even then, when she solves her personal dilemma, she kicks that thing's ass.  Really, I don't get why people would think Terra's a damsel.

She is definitely not damsel in distress even though they really ruined her personality in dissidia
