How do you see the KH fanbase evolving in the future?

Posted

We all know Nomura's intent with releasing the HD remix's is to draw as many people as he can into the series before the Xehanort saga's conclusion.

A lot of people didn't have a chance to play the original Kingdom Hearts games back when they were still on the classic Ps2. Now, especially with 1.5 to be showed at E3, obviously the KH fanbase will grow.

...And evolve.

And conquer all!

Erm, but no really. Do you see KH13 having more competition in the future?

Do you think KH's fanbase will ever be on the same level as Final Fantasy's fanbase?

Maybe. Maybe not. It all depends.

I'd rather stay away from the kh site subject because that has the possibility of leading off to an argument.

The fanbase in general will of course grow as Kingdom Hearts grows and become more popular just as it has done over the years. The HD remasters are great chances for some new fans to come to the series and for older fans to get back into it.

I think it will. I've seen more people walking around my town/state with Kingdom Hearts shirts...

When KH3 finally come out, so many people will cry tears of joy that it'll flood the Earth and destroy humanity.  There won't be much time for a lot of evolution.

I have been sorta "known" for my KH shirts on campus.

And I can't find anyone within a 50 mile radius of me that knows what Kingdom Hearts is about xP

Me niether :(All my friends say it's "Gay" just because it has Disney characters.None of them have actually gotten to know this wonderful story.

Tough question. To be honest, I don't see the remasters changing the fan base all to much. Ironically with it being on the ps3 I'd bet it would bring in more casual players than anyone who simply never bothered to buy all the handheld games and find some intrest in it. A large part of what I considered the fandom experience is theorizing about the next games coming up, and as much as there is to theorize on KH3, it has spread itself thin. What I mean by that is that there are a lot of little unresolved mysteries, but none has very much ground to theorize on. The three games after kh2 seemed to me to be the highpoint of this. Ahh, Xion is Aqua's nobody, good times...

The game I think that will really change the fan base will be kh3. It seems a lot of people just want to see how the Xehanort saga will end. It started for me back when I was in second grade with the original and now I'm going to college. It sort of feels like its time to move on. At the same time, I bet a number of the "KH3-whiners" for lack of better words will jump back into the series.

Personally, I don't think the amount of people on a website makes it better. The community and the attitude of the people on the site is what really counts.

KH makes me think this way now. That's a good thing.  ^_^

The Kingdom Hearts series will not become as popular as the Final Fantasy series.

We already have "competition". If your question is if we'll see any other major KH fansites then I doubt it. But anything's possible.

Of course, I agree. It's what makes KH13 stand out from the others in my opinion, and I suppose "competition" probably wasn't the best word to use.

...aaaaand this is the reason I joined this site. I wear Paopu fruit earrings and my Roxas necklace pretty much every day, I even wear my Kairi cosplays on random days just for the fun of it, and yet, the only comment about any of it is 'Wow, I like your ninja star necklace.'

No and No.

Ouch, must be terrible. Ninja star.. D :

I think it's a weird thought that so many people really don't know a thing about Kingdom Hearts. It's so important to me and my friends know it and i'm on sites where people talk about it in the net so it's strange that there must be a lot of people out there who have never even heard of it...

But I haven't really thought how remixes would change anything in the fanbase.. I quess more people will play other games than just KH1 and 2 and more people will play KH itself too. So I assume there's gonna be more KH fans? But I don't think there'll ever be as many of them as FF fans still.
