Pretty much, unless for some reason, one is significantly cheaper than the other.

Reason why I'm getting Y version, man. :D

Pearl and HeartGold FTW!

Not always,

At first I got Pokemon Gold because Ho-oh looked freakin awesome

But when the Gen 2 remakes came out I got Soul Silver instead of HeartGold

I admit I picked up Pokemon Red just because of Charizard

But as the time went on I decided to randomly pick up whatever version I find best

I personally find that charizard is too hype, That's while I always choose blastoise, SHELLSHOCK FTW

btw anyone here play black or white if so add me ingame  3483 3621 0605

I base mine on which color I like better.

Normally I'd look to see what exclucive Pokemon are in each verson using Serebi.net, but since X and Y are coming out internationally at the same time this year, I'll probably use this method.

I bought Red, Fire Red, Gold and Silver(didnt even touch Gold like I touched Silver), SoulSilver, Ruby, Diamond, Black(I would own Black 2 if I bought it), and will be buying Y(I dont want X since Xehanort will know where I am).

True.......SOMETIMES

well this might upset you guys, but see i traded my soul to xehanort for a level 3 zubat, so i kinda am bound to do this

Either this or the exclusive pokémon in the game.

I chose the games mostly for the colour xD
