I might get the Yoshi Amiibo for Mario Kart 8, but aside from that, I'm waiting until later. I really want the Amiibos for Ness, Greninja, and Shulk. Hope those come relatively soon.

 

Also, does anyone have any ideas for who those secret characters could be? I've been trying to come up with some ideas, and wanted to see what other people think.

 

My thoughts:

 

Wolf: Wolf was a popular character in Brawl, and was one of the three secret characters. It wouldn't surprise me if he came back as one this time around. Lucas and Ice Climbers seem to have been cut (Unfortunately), and I don't see them making the transition to secret characters. I think Wolf's still got a shot, though.

 

Mewtwo: With Dr. Mario making a return according to that leak, we know that some old Melee characters could come back. Mewtwo and Roy were the most popular, and since we already have two newcomers from Fire Emblem, I think Mewtwo's more likely. I've seen more people who want him than people who want Roy, too.

 

Marshal: Given the Rythm Heaven character that we have in Smash Run, it seems likely that we'll get a newcomer from the series. While most people lean towards Chorus Kids, the recent suggestion or Marshal seems much more likely to me. If Sakurai had trouble with Ice Clibers, there's no way Chorus Kids would be able to work. Not to mention that Marshal seems more iconic, at least to me.

 

I'd like a fourth character, but I can't really think of anyone else who would fit. I WANT a Mother newcomer, but I know that's not going to happen.

The Masked Man, or Jeff could be a good one. Or even Boney. But they would never happen...just cuz they'd be different and interesting Mother chars..

Just preordered Link and Peach amiibos. Hoping to get all of them.

So, is anyone else excited about that soundtrack offer through Club Nintendo? I'm really excited about it, especially considering the Xenoblade and Pokemon music that will be on it. Both have amazing soundtracks, and getting the best of them from Nintendo sounds awesome.

I think the most exciting part is the fact we're getting them both just for registering our copies on Club Nintendo. Normally, they'd make something like this worth mass coins.

For the first 12 amiibos, I'll be getting Kirby, MAYBE Villager...

Not at the moment. They'll have one, plus all the others you noted soon enough.

Who isn't?! Shulk has to be one of the best/must haves of the amiibo figures. I mean, where else are you gonna find a Nintendo official Shulk figure?

Agreed. It's going to be awesome seeing him get his own official figure. I wish he'd get a higher quality one too, but Amiibos are still really detailed, and good enough for me.

SHIRTLESS SHULK FIGURE FTW

 

 

Pic of the day. The legendary hero Riki appears as an Assist Trophy and in Shulk's Final Smash!! As an Assist Trophy, he uses many arts like Happy Happy, Freezinate, and Yoink! He sounds a bit like Tingle…but don't worry, Tingle will make an appearance too.

By the way, a cursor will appear above Assist Trophies and Pokémon to indicate which fighter is its ally. Now you can tell right off the bat who it belongs to!!

This also puts Reyn at the chances of only being a trophy and not an Assist. Unless they choose to have two ATs for Xenoblade, which doesn't really make much sense there.

"It's Shulk Time!" is about all he's gonna get outside of a regular trophy. Which is pretty upsetting. Although it's cool, why do we need a character from a Final Smash to also be an Assist Trophy.

Yeah, the reason I thought Reyn would end up as an AT is because Riki was in the Final Smash. Just seems weird having him in two different roles. I guess Sakurai liked the Shulk/Riki/Dunban team when he played the game.

I've been thinking about it... It's tough to believe that the game's going to be released in a little over a month now, and in just two weeks in Japan. I'm excited to play it and all, but the hype's honestly been half the game for me. I don't know that I'll ever have a game that gets me this excited over two minute clips and screenshots ever again. : Kinda crazy to think that it's coming to an end so soon. It's been a fun ride on the hype train, and I'll miss it.
