In Kh DDD opening it was shown that Sora,Roxas,Riku,Mickey,Terra,Ventus,and Aqua all faced MX for a final showdown.Thats 7 keyblade weilders.They could be the 7 lights.

MX gathered 12 darkness already,could Vanitas be the 13th darkness.He did make a apearance in Kh DDD.I don't think Tetsuya Nomura would make a scene like that for nothing.

Just a theory.

I hope that scene of Roxas was just to remind the players where he was but maybe your right. I hope your wrong tho because Rojas is one of my favorite charicters and I don't want him to fight sora

I'm pretty sure the Opening was just showing all the playable characters (in story mode) in the franchise.

 

And Nomura said Vanitas's appearance was just Ventus's heart reacting inside Sora.

Nomura siad those were not necessarily the seven lights especially considering the group did not contain Kairi the only confirmed Guardian of Light. Nomura went on to say we would be suprised to find out who the final lights are.

Yes, he was. In KHII, there are some boss fights where Mickey is playable if Sora loses/dies/faints/whatever. The only ones I remember are Xaldin and Shan-Yu.

I have always thought that Vanitas (no, not you Xylek) will be the thirteenth darkness. I just don't think we have seen the last of him especially since we saw a cameo appearence of him in KH3D which could symbolize that he might return.

Or instead of Vanitas being the 13th there will be an unexpected plot twist that surprises us all..

At the end of kH dd it says kairi can wield a keyblade
