You know what would tick me off? Like, what would really tick me off? If KH3 ends with a cliff-hanger. Think about it. It's supposed to be the end of the Xehanort saga, but they said the story will continue. So maybe Xehanort is defeated, but the story ends in a way where you have to play the next game to know what happens to one of the main characters, or ends in a "to be continued" as I hear FFXIII-2 ends. I mean, I'm not opposed to possibly purchasing more KH titles after 3, but if they did that, then I would feel like they're just cheaply forcing me to buy more games simply to know what happens. What do you think?

I highly doubt there would be a TRUE cliff hanger for KH3. Think about it did KH end in a cliff hanger? Did KH2 end in a cliff hanger? No, they both ended with the notion that another journey is starting up. So, why would KH3 be any different?

Good point, but some of the spin off games have cliffhangers ( ex- days) so they are clearly not above it.

Prequel games are a bit different, since they are setting up events to lead up into a different game. They are practically begging to be cliffhangers, especially when in the preestablished game has the conclusion of they story they are trying to tell.

Ok, so then how would you set up the next story without using a cliffhanger?

We don't even know what the next story after Kingdom Hearts III is. So I can't try to devise a way to lead into it, nor do I know how KH III is supposed to end. If I knew at least one of those two things I could probably write a fanficy alternative to a cliffhanger for you.

Or everything ends nicely and after the credits it shows a scene relating to the next saga and then says "Look forward to the Next Saga of Kingdom Hearts."

I can't see them labeling it, maybe showing a scene and not telling us where it is from, but it would still be pretty obvious... nice idea!!!

Yes it would be sad, for one reason and one reason alone. There would never be a conclusion to the cliffhanger if he got sacrificed.
