    Team Magma is a Ground type team. Which is why they are looking for Groudon, a Ground type Pokémon to expand the Earth, aka Ground.

    Team Aqua is a Water type team. Which is why they are looking for Kyogre, a Water type Pokémon to expand the Sea, aka Water.
