Im really sorru if subjects been discussed already I did check to make sure it wasn't.

I'm hoping to get a job after I finish my LC in June. I plan on using that money to buy Swap Magic and Import ReCoM from Amazon or wherever...

Sooooooo... I was hoping to get anyone who knows if Im going about importing the right way.

Is Amazon the best choice?

Is Swap Magic a better option than buying a NTSC PS2?

Does anyone know if PAL memory cards are compatible with NTSCs?

Nah I live in Ireland and since I plan on getting the money to import it I thought I should ask for purchasing advice.

I know I'll probably like a tool but you're not meant to double post, it'll drive the mods crazy

Amazon is a pretty good site for that stuff. And i have swap magic myself and i like it so i can recommend it., rather than paying for a whole new ps2.

As for the memory cards, i know in america they work on any region code, so yours should too.

dude irish rock! good luck with that!

yes, i have to swap magic plus thingie. To install you have to take your ps2 apart and put on a new disk reader. Make sure there is someone there who knows how to do it. And yeah I got it off of the swap magic site. But you have to be careful. once you take apart your ps2. It removes every Warritany associated with it. you can't even sell it agian on ebay or whatever. make sure it's a skinny ps2. I have the final mixes. And there aweosme!

I thought it was like when you have Swamp Magic you DON'T have to take your PS2 apart...?

You dont have to take it apart..technically. But you have to add little annoying bits of plastic to it. Its an okay solution i guess. But its not awesome..

I've been reading up on it and Swap Magic seems like an easy choice. From what I understand the idea of it is I dont have to take it apart. Besides my sister has a Slim PS2 so I dont have to worry about using my old one.

Kingdomlanelover you do not have to take your PS2 Apart, one way is just to keep it up until you have the game started up.

It would also be best if you have a back up PS2 since their only about 100 dollars you should be able to get it easily.

Are 100 dollars worth round 50 euros?

Sorry i dont know, but i seem to like Modding a PS2 Better then Swap Magic. If you can find someone who will mod it legally its well worth it.

Wow. You have no idea how wrong you are. All you have to do to your PS2 with Swap Magic is remove the little face plate on the disk tray so you can insert a slide card. You can also just make a hole above the disk tray and turn it into a flip-top.

@Sora96: Modding your PS2 is about as illegal as dropping it out of a second story window. It's not illegal, but it'll void your warranty. You just have to be sure to solder it in right. But since most PS2s are already way over their warranties anyway, you have nothing to worry about.

I'm from Tipperay.I was thinking of doing magic swap too because I want Re:CoM and KH2FM.I don't think you have to take your ps2 apart anymore,I heard you can install it directly from a normal cd.
