The real reasons Square keeps making FF XIII games and not new titles.

Posted

Everyone keeps complaining about how Square keeps making sequels and spin offs to FF XIII. Well here are the reasons:

A) Alot of People actually like XIII so they're milking it a bit for more money, and unlike VII, it gets better with each game.

B ) Square Enix loves Lightning to death.

C) NOMURA IS DRAGGING HIS ASS WITH XV AND THEY CAN'T MAKE XVI UNTIL XV COMES OUT FOR THE NEXT GEN WHICH HASN'T EVEN COME OUT YET. THEY HAVE TO STALL FOR TIME. They said after a year when XV was in development as Vs. XIII, they decided to change it to XV, that was a long time ago they did that, they just didn't announce it until now when its close to finishing development. This is probably a major reason in why they haven't already moved on with XIII. If he came out with XV sooner, maybe Square would've probably ended the XIII games with XIII-2, or maybe they might not have even made XIII-2 at all.

Im glad how things turned out to make the XIII games into a trilogy, since i like the games alot. But those reasons are why it keeps getting sequels.

yes it gets better, but i think that each game is definetly more than a spin off for milking money, there is a story that needs to be told, and they are telling it with original and very different sequels.

also 13-2 and lr are new titles because they are not part of the game ff 13

I like crisis core and dirge of cerberus :(

Crisis Core and The original VII were Great. The other ones were crap and it went downhill from there.

When i say New titles, I MEAN NEW NUMBERED TITLES IN THE FF SERIES, LIKE XVI AND XV. Those games are sequels, not actual new original games. THey're just continuing the story of XIII, not telling a completely different story unrelated to XIII for another group of people like any new numbered title.

ah so you specifically meant numbered titles, sorry about that, kind of figured but had to make the new title thing clear just in case :)

Why not make a Final Fantay VI-2 then or a prequel,I don't think there's a single fan who hate that game or the full remake of Final Fantasy VII that have been asked for years. There's a billion things that could be done instead of making 3 FF13 games.

At least they seem to be doing it right this time...Finally,but still,I'd rather see FFVI-2

Remaking VII would cost alot of money, and we have to see if a game that surpasses VII in sales shows up before they do that. So that's why it hasn't been done.

They wont make a sequel to VI since its a Sprite game. They'd have to make this next one in 3D and it wouldnt look right for one game to be in sprites and another to be in 3D. It still deserves a sequel, it was a great game.

Well crisis core had a different art style then VII and it worked and they could do a downloadable game with updated sprites

It had a different art style, but it WASN'T SPRITES. IT WAS 3D LIKE THE ORIGINAL, except it looks miles better.

I like XIII too so I'm happy Square made a lot of them.

Square Enix like to make sequels now. They have been doing this since Final Fantasy X. X & XII had sequels, so XIII had to have one. And Lightning Returns is required to complete the story and release another FF game on the PS3.

B: They did the same with KH, so why not? lol
