Music making program suggestions?

Posted

So, I only want to make some music just for fun, more specifically orchestra music and such. I was wondering what would be an easy program for someone completely noobish like me to use (that doesn't require knowledge of knowing how to read music notes)? If I have to pay for something, that'll be fine, but a program with high quality yet easy to use would be awesome.

I'd suggest FL Studio, if you really don't want to learn how to use notes. Course it's mostly for electronic music and is the opposite of free (or "free" if you know where to look), but there's a few good orchestral vst's floating around you could use. Personally I use Finale and Noteworthy Composer, but those require knowing how to read music notation and are both MIDI composers, but they get the job done for what I like to do.

Dubturbo (for beats)

Ableton (Pricey but try the free trial)

Audacity

Finale (if you know how to read and write music)

Yea FL studio is good... Also Reason is a good program to work with. I also use mixcraft as a fine edit.

fool. There is no program for you. You want to make music? You have to put the effort in.

I have an appreciation for music. I know what makes music good or bad. Why can't I make my own music for fun?

theres a nice program called magix music maker. I never used it, but I watched videos about it, and its easy to use.

fl studio works too, but very pricey and more complex.

they both offer vst instruments for making more music and stuff.

I get magix if I were u. go.to.best buy. they might have a good deal on the program for 60 bucks.

Fool. Appreciation is not effort. You can make music for fun. But you need to do some LEARNING first. Reading music is important. You need to at least know how to read it in some degree.

Well, Excalibur, I shall at least consider your advice, but I just wanna see what it's like before I really get myself into it. That's why I'm doing it for fun for now.
