One thing that worries me about that KH video IGN just posted..

Posted

In the video (like nine-something minutes or so in, I think) he says that the voice doesn't often sync well with the lips. Now, Idk about you, but this worries me. I don't want to see the original KH smeared with poor dubbing like in the original Re:CoM.

Of course, I do realize that he could be referring to the regular "emotionless" unanimated faces that the characters make during gameplay and quite a few cutscenes. If that's what he means, then I'm fine with it, because that's how the original was. But if they just slapped English voices over Japanese lip movements on the scenes that have full facial animations, then I'm not gonna be happy.

What do you think? Are we gonna get a poorly dubbed version of Kingdom Hearts? I sure hope not.

Some scenes are not as well dubbed, but many of the memorable scenes still have the original animations, example, the "I've become a part of their heart" scene and the "Give Kairi her heart" scene. So, no worries!

I'm already disappointed with the 1.5 ReMIX as it is. The way I see it, it was lazily done. They didn't add any new features, anything to make it stand apart from the original games, unless you count the 358/2 cards in Re:CoM, which I don't.  I mean, yeah, we're getting KHFM in english finally, but there are already some fantranslations of it you could get if you wanted to. I mean, they could have added a summon, an extra world, hell, I would be happy even if they did what P4G did, add a menu where you can view the new OSTs and concept artwork and stuff like that. And if they don't add a feature to switch between the new and old tracks, then I might as well just not buy it.

Are you talking about the Japanese version? Because I also noticed that with the cutscene before the Riku/Ansem fight. So yeah, I'm happy that those cutscenes are set. I'm still a bit worried about the others though :/

Yeah. Most of the Japanese cutscenes are still animated for the English dubbing. Not sure why they didn't fix it, but I'm not complaining. Some cutscenes are going to be using Japanese dubbed animations, unfortunately, but not to noticable ones. Mostly for the fish face animations, like you said. All the best scenes are still English animated, however. Well, this is for FM, at least. Odds are, Re:CoM HD will still have Japanese animations, along with the Days *movie*. After all, both of these kept the Japanese animations for english release.

Actually, they added some new abilities to KHFM HD that were not in the original FM. Combo Master, and Zero Exp. And, to be fair, most of the dedication went into the creation of the Days movie.

What I believe he was referring to was when the fish-face 3D models are used for cutscene rather than the high quality ones. I wouldn't fear that the lip-syncing suddenly became worse than the origianl KH1.

It would had been nice if they added a new intro...

Whoo, *most* of the scenes were like that? I only watched a couple. Kinda makes me feel bad for the Japan fans, but hey. About time they got the short end of the stick on something KH related. (Kidding... sorta)

Still, it's reorchestrated music, full Days cutscenes, all that jazz. I can imagine that there are a ton of worse HD remasters out there, so hey. I could see a new summon, but an extra world would have made no sense, and would have been kinda detrimental to the nostalgic feel. And aren't we already getting concept artwork with the preorder?

When they worked on the game, the scenes are mixed up between Japanese and English facial animation to match the sync. I doubt they worked to change it to the full English facial animation for the English version of 1.5 Remix.

In fact I'm aware Everglow did an analysis video about the Japanese version.

Yep. I've been watching the KH 1.5 cutscenes on Everglows channel. Most of the cutscenes still have the original English animations from KHFM.Also, yeah, there are some really bad HD remakes... Silent Hill HD... don't get me started.

The old tracks suck ass next to the actually orchestrated tracks.

Now now, no need to say that. Some of us like the old tracks.

I like 'em too, don't get me wrong. I adore them, actually. But I meant compared to. : p

It makes no sense to want to revert to something obviously inferior.
