The wind blew softly over the island. Besides the soft swaying of the trees there was little to disturb the idyllic serenity here. The island stretched out for miles, but at the coasts there was nothing to see but water. The island, like the universe in which it existed, was nearly empty, the remnants of life clung, decaying, to its shores and its trees and its fields, but the yells of excitement, of fear, of courage that has once complimented the sound of the wind ha since faded to echoes. Today, however, that changed. Today life returned to the universe. The only question is; what kind of universe would it return to?

"C'mon, get up!"

"All of you, wake up."

"Rise and shine, it's a new day."

Far away voices entered the hazy minds of those sleeping on the island.

Lying on the shore of a short beach was Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

Lying in the middle of an airstrip surrounded by jungle was a different group. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay Alex Dimanche, Ferro al'Vere, and Hazimie Azhar Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four people; Rija Mors, Terry Frost, Henko Tenioenai, Koizumi Onnea, and Rin Nozomi Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an immaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

The far away voices slowly awakened all of these people. The clouds in the blue skies above moved slowly; the morning was upon them. It was time to wake up and find the future...

Alex looked up, "So..what? It's over then?" He asked, looking around the room. It was the first time in a long while that he actually felt...lonely. Usually, being a loner didn't bother him (better to do projects without any distractions), but after all of this, he at least learned a few things.

"Because if it is...after all of that...well, I guess I'll see you all later..or something."

"I would say its over..." Derik said. "You know what... It's kinda sad that its all over..." Derik muttered. "In a sense, this was kinda fun, if you look back on it. I mean, we got to meet each-other, travel the galaxy, pilot mecha's, and for me..." He looked at Rija. "Found who I was ment to be with. So overall, in a sort of odd way, it was fun..." Derik managed to sit himself up. "And I guess I just can't believe its over, if it makes any sense." He muttered. "Alex, if you're gonna stay on earth, me and Rija will be here, so you won't be alone."

"I agree.  As crazy as what we all have been through, I have to admit it was fun.  It was like living out a dream you wouldn't think could come true.  Well, at least for me."  Rodin puts his arms behind his head, smile and think:  And I got to meet with people I never would've known if I didn't go through the cryo freeze.  Especially Sera.  So I'm a little thankful for it.

((Oh my god, I had literally typed this out two days ago and thought it was posted, sorry for the delay everyone.))

Genesys had only one more thing to say.

"Confirmation received. Enacting construction."

Then the entire molecular material of all things marked as weaponry and space-faring devices was broken apart and stored in the extra-dimensional holding area of the beacons. It was then that it happened. After numerous trials, terrible choices, and irreparable loss, all the stored matter was reconverted after 20 years. Humans. They covered Earth again. Millions of them. With rudimentary knowledge instilled by Genesys and a future to look forward to. Humans once again returned in a real way to the universe. Genesys had an algorithm which allowed the initial confusion of their creation to be dulled and made vague such that humanity could simply begin again without issue. As this happened the metal taken from the weapons and ships was changed to repair the various APs at the space port at the top of the elevator.  They were ready to go if need be. The space elevator began to be taken apart as well. Only a single ride could be taken to the APs before it was gone. It was time to choose one last thing... Go or stay.

((Everyone will have at most three more posts to wrap up their character's story for an epilogue or such, and then I'll put in the final word, good luck everyone))

"Me and Rija are staying, so... I guess I'll see you when you make it back around, Sera, Rodin..." Derik muttered, grabbing Rija and Alex. "It was nice gettin' to know you. I'd stay and hug it out... But you don't got much time left, I would say..." He muttered, and after a moment of work managed to make both of his hands free to shake their hands.

Rodin had his right hand out and shook Derik's.  He says:  "Yeah, nice knowing you too.  Guess this is goodbye for a while."  Rodin turns to Seraphim and says:  "Well Sera, I think we should head off."  Rodin turns and starts walking to an elevator.  He stops, turns around, wave, and says:  "See ya!  Until we meet again."

(Were still at the bottom of the elevator shaft...)

(....  *sigh* Darn it.)

Alex blinked, grasping Derik's hand and giving it a shake.

"I..uh...erh.." He stammered, not sure at all. Would he leave or stay? What would be the point of doing either? Alex ran a hand through his hair and blew some air from his mouth, his mind running overtime for the final choice.

"I truly don't know where to go, but I may just stay." Alex said, "Not much point for me to go anywhere else."

(... Well then....)

((I'll pretty much give till tomorrow morning for any last bits, then I'll wrap it up))

Rija hugged both Sera and Rodin, before retreating back to Derik's side. "Well, you guys keep in touch now? We expect a Christmas card every year at least!" Rija calld jokingly. Joking was nice. It'd been awhile since she had done so. The soldier was relieved it was all over, and with a mostly happy ending at that. Granted, afew had been lost along the way... all people from Veridyan's group she realized now. Rija could only hope that humanity would be able to make a happy ending for themselves too, but Rija was done. She was happy with her ending.

And so it began again. Without weapons, or spaceships, or AIs. Humans in existence again. That is when the Frozen Few, the group of humans who had persisted and changed the course of history, separated from each other, and chose their own paths from their own. Some of them chose to live alongside those they had met along the journey, others went off on their own and mourned the loss of those who they had fought and struggled with while building a new future for themselves. A future for all of them. A future was something humanity did not have for 20 years, and due to them, it could occur. Laughs, and smiles, and inside jokes. Techno music, romantic comedies, and fictional characters with oversize swords. Fear and faith and love. All of the components of human life- the harmful, and the invaluably wonderful had returned. This is the last log I shall make, to be found by the sons and daughters of the humans those brave few brought back, perhaps the sons and daughters of the people themselves. One day we shall be ready to coexist with them, understand them, help them. One day they shall be strong and advanced and they shall learn from the past; this I know. Until then, I shall look forward to the purpose returned to this universe with the return of humanity. I shall never thank those few people enough.

(What's up with Sikota at the moment?)

(His parents wisened up to how he was getting on the site and blocked it on his iPad, which was his primary way to get on the site. In addition, they are closely monitoring his account.)

(That is bullshit.)

(I know, right? And it's only because he met Neko here.)

(Just re-read through this again. Let me remind you all... A gigantic kamehameha from a mech suit thousands of feet above the surface. Best post I've made.)

(I wish I had remembered to post. Was gonna do a touching exit for Seraphim.

And I kinda want to do a sequel...I have ideas Q.Q MDS WHERE ART THOU)

(Same here.

Saaaame.)

(I doubt MDS will do a sequel... doesn't seem his style. He has been on recently, so next time ya see him pop on, I'd chat with him. At the moment, he's probably working on his next original idea.0

(Hey guys! Good to see you all around here. As far as a sequel goes, it's not outta the question. You guys should message me if you have any ideas. Still, though, I need some time to setup and run an RP, and I'll probably handle one or two more original ones before going to a sequel, and as for as original RPs, I miiiiight have a few ideas developing. Anyway, till anything comes up, I'm looking forward to seeing you all around the boards.)

(Hooray!)

(I still have Like Clockwork on the back burner. It has simmered for an awfully long time now, though. . . Should I start it without Sikota?)
