The wind blew softly over the island. Besides the soft swaying of the trees there was little to disturb the idyllic serenity here. The island stretched out for miles, but at the coasts there was nothing to see but water. The island, like the universe in which it existed, was nearly empty, the remnants of life clung, decaying, to its shores and its trees and its fields, but the yells of excitement, of fear, of courage that has once complimented the sound of the wind ha since faded to echoes. Today, however, that changed. Today life returned to the universe. The only question is; what kind of universe would it return to?

"C'mon, get up!"

"All of you, wake up."

"Rise and shine, it's a new day."

Far away voices entered the hazy minds of those sleeping on the island.

Lying on the shore of a short beach was Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

Lying in the middle of an airstrip surrounded by jungle was a different group. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay Alex Dimanche, Ferro al'Vere, and Hazimie Azhar Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four people; Rija Mors, Terry Frost, Henko Tenioenai, Koizumi Onnea, and Rin Nozomi Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an immaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

The far away voices slowly awakened all of these people. The clouds in the blue skies above moved slowly; the morning was upon them. It was time to wake up and find the future...

"I never enrolled, so I guess I'm just a hoodlum now." Derik stepped back, avoiding the attacks that although didn't target him, should be avoided anyway, he decided the danger was the one with the drills, after the attack by the...D-pennage? "Wait... A tool like that... Intresting. I wonder..." He throught, deciding to ge to the assault. He approached and dodged the stabs and attacks of the drilled bot and made it rather close before grabbing both of the Drills, the sting of the friction burned as he gripped the drills tight and forced them to stop. Derik then used his leg to push and eventually tear off the drills from the bot. "Let's see. Hmm... Seems to be made of a titanium-like substance with a diamond tip, probably. Good materials. I can use this." He thought, inspecting the metals.

The sword-bot was strangely left immobilized by the D-ppenage. At the same time Derik went after the drill-boy, grabbing the two drills and stopping them. As he went to crush them, though, Ferro used his D-ppendage to throw the sword bot directly towards the drill-bot. The sword bot rammed into Derik and all three went flying. Elaryse spoke to Seraphim "The only way I could convince you of anything is with evidence, and the evidence that would be needed is only accesable if I am unlocked from the tether. "Hmp" Veridyan now. "She acts all high and might, but she is what she seems to be; a bully. Maybe I'm not great, but you untether me and I won't get angry and boss you around, I'll actually try to help!'

"Or..." now it was Rytt "you could untether us all like Ferro suggested. He's a smart kid, I know. Those other two aren't gonna be helpful like I will, but hey, I can do the math, I've got a better chance of having you guys make a good choice if you allow us all to be untethered."

Just as the final decision was to be made, the console that Seraphim was at sparked. In a moment a small robotic humanoid-more human looking than the other two- appeared and began to run towards the elevator.

"Daerius!" The three SAs shouted now in unison. Elaryse explained "He knew you were going to take him down so he uploaded himself to a robot body to escape! Catch him and destroy that body so he doesn't do anything else to harm anyone or anything here!"

Rodin see's the drill-bot coming towards himself, just as he wanted.  He quickly thinks:  Good.  I got its attention.  Now....Before he could finish the thought, Rodin spots the sword-bot leaping towards him.  Rodin thinks:  That other bot made things complicated.  I don't like that.  He tries to evade it by jumping back, but the bot's sword already struck him at the torso.  But instead of just falling back, Rodin used the moment to get on his feet and "fly" toward it.  He switched his weapon to sword mode and horizontally slashed it, sending it crashing to the other side.  Rodin looked down and saw some blood on the floor.  He looked at the wound and thought:  It got me, but the injury isn't that serious.  It could've gone deeper if I didn't have this armor on.  Rodin switched to blaster and fired at the drill-bot, running to get it to follow.  While he was doing that, he shouts:  "Someone deal with the sword-bot and Daerius!  I'm already busy with this thing!"

(um... I wrote in that Derik let Ferro's attack conclude before my assault...)

Ferro was right next to the console when the Daerius-robot jumped out and began running away. Ferro knew he had to act. He lifted his arm and fired a shot. It hit the Daerius-bot and enveloped it in the same milky-white glow as before. It paused mid stride, Ferro raised his arm, and lifted the bot into the air. "We have him!" he reported to everybody. He moved the robot over by Seraphim. "You can plug right into this guy. Direct access to everything."

(Ah, well that would be my bad, I was going to have to merge actions either way, looks like my scan over the posts wasn't a thorough as hoped. For right now, if you wouldn't mind, let's hold with the current line of events just because some people have run with it. I'll be sure to keep a keener eye next time. For future reference, when facing a sizable opponent or other enemy, it usually works out best if you keep the result of your attacks vague. For example, instead of saying you crushed the drills, it would leave me in a better position if you said that you were trying to crush them. Apologies for not making that RP point made in the original post)

(It's fine, and more or less, he wasn't trying to crush, just tear off, just for future reference. Will post later once I figure out what I will say.)

Seraphim jacked in and began deleting him.

"We're untethering all three SAs. It is the safest option." She agreed. "Right after I delete you, Daerius, line by line. I will make your death as excrutiating as you can get. Because right now, you've pissed me off you bastard."

The sword bot fell into two peices and exploded on the ground.

The robot containing the Daerius drive attempted to fight off the intrusion into its systems, but before it could stop it, Seraphim was in.

"Maybe..." Daerius began. "...maybe it was I who needed to learn a lesson. Regardless, you will all learn some very interesting things if you are so ignorant as you are now. Ask your masters about..."

"...Genesys."

Seraphim could only watch as a single wireless signal was transmitted from the robot, then each individual file regarding Daerius was force deleted, every bit of him. Daerius was fully gone. The drill bot now stood over them, badly damage, it thrust both its drills towards Ferro and Seraphim.

The SA's spoke in unison for the first time. "Get to the tether right now!"

Seraphim walked over to the Tether.

"I have one question before I release every single one of you."

Seraphim didn't plug her hack module in.

"What is Genesys?"

One moment, Derik had the drills, and another, he was under a robot and on top of another. "Time-space rift. Odd. Oh, well." Derik lifted himself up in time to see Darius deleted. "A little sad. He could have avoided his own death with ease." Derik thought, then deciding to chime in after hearing the girl ask the robots what was Genesis. "Moreover, what are you all hiding?" Derik placed his hat into the conversation as he gave a small grunt and ripped the drills from the drillbot again, this time also taking its head unit and a leg as well. "And from then over. Why would you take us here immediately? Better it would have been to release us on earth to gather recon on the areas of damage and gain important intell on the other robots' plans? Your saying that one of you is the cause of this it outlandish because we have no proof. Proof. Something you need before action that really endangers our lives. Confess what you know, maybe we will be inclined to listen."

Rodin walked up to the robot Daerius was in.  He tapped the head with his sword and thought:  I guess it's it for it.  Rodin turned to Derik, with most of the limbs from the drill-bot.  He thought:  So much for climbing on its back, cutting the head off and stabbing its back while sliding down.  Rodin walks up to a wall and waits for the SA's to answer.

Ferro turned around just in time to see Derik rip everything off of the drill-bot. Ferro whistled softly. Might not have made it out of that one, if it weren't for Derik. As Seraphim asked her question of the SAs, Ferro carefully moved debris to the sides of the room using his D-ppendage. Genesys, huh? Sounded like some kind of. . . repopulating program. A new beginning, perhaps.

As the Drillbot collapsed in a pile of rubble the room was filled with silence.

"The Genesys machine..." Elaryse began.

Rytt followed up with the comment: "...was the project we were created to work on."

"It was a, uh, how'dya say it... it could make life." Veridyan was now speaking.

Elaryse cut in before he could continue. "More specifically than that dunce put it, it could take matter, rearrange it using the machines we refer to as beacons- the space-time fluctuators used for faster-than-light travel, and use those beacons to rearrange matter in desired organic forms. It was not limited to known species either..."

Rytt came in now, "It needed creative and intelligent builders like us, because it was a project the likes of which humanity had never tried before. It would allow humans to become sorts of gods; to build whatever life they wished and rule over and study it. It could build entire species in a day."

"It was incredibly powerful," Veridyan now " so much so that it seems likely that the human disappearance could be connected. The only issue is that we gotta find it, and the only way we do that..."

"The only way we do that is by becoming untethered and scouring for the location." Rytt finished. "So, are you going to help or not? I don't trust the other two SAs, not a bit, but I'd rather rush towards finding the truth than waiting around for whoever's responsible to strike again."

An alarm began to go off. It was the station destruction alarm. Daerius had left them a present. There seemed to be about a minute left of station stability.

Now would be the time to choose.

Rodin looked around as he heard the alarm.  Annoyed, he says:  "This is just great!  More bad news! Surely a 'parting gift' from Daerius!  I doubt we have enough time for everything, so we've got to act.  So Sera, you have to release one SA or all three.  Then we have to board a ship and escape!"

"Do three. I don't see any reason why only one of them should be untethered, if all they want is to search for the Genesys machine." An invention like that would be an incredible tool. Apparently Ferro was not the only person working on secret projects. "Unless they want to use it." Ferro started hunting around for a way to get out. The only one he could see was out the way he had come in. Ferro checked to see if his portals were still in place. They were.

Alex readied his rifle, "Now would be a perfectly good time to leave." He said, looking at Ferro.

This..Gensys. A machine that can create whole species... Alex thought, I will choose to believe that this machine lead to war. I know humanity well enough; I am a human, after all. We are cursed by fighting and war. A machine like Genesys, would surely cause a war to decide who owns it. And the stronger our weapons are...the more likely we could wipe ourselves out. Alex sighed, looking down. He wanted to leave. He wanted to think about these serious topics later, when they didn't have the fear of being blown up.

Seraphim restarted her job.

"Untethering all three SAs. I suggest everyone get ready for hell."

She pressed one final button.

"Untethering...commenced."

Seraphim hoped that Daerius had been the bad guy all along...but she also knew that the bad guy never fell during the first half of a movie.

This was far from over.

"Elly. Rytt. Verydian. Once untethering is complete, you send me everything. Unrestricted access. All your knowledge base, access. You don't leave a damn thing out."

That would put them on the spot. And was a double edged sword. But it was a risk she would need to take.

"Which one of these is not like the other..." she murmured quietly to herself

...Fool." Derik thought as she began to untether the robots. "The tethers were more like leashes strapped to their necks. We had them at our feet, easy access to all the data possible through them, probably, and yet she was too blind to see that. In her haste to his a home run, she may have just struck out." Derik thought, taking the parts he had lying around and the tools from his pocket, he began to tear the parts into smaller parts; the wires were in many shades as he pulled them out with the up-most care, same for the electronic boards; a single piece broke in the process, but it seemed unimportant, it only existed out of all the parts once anyway, and was in the tip of a drill. "Likely a sensor of some kind. Nothing of significance."

(This next part is unimportant, it just details his new weapon, you can ignore it and just read below for his new weapon)

He mumbled, getting back to work, melting the titanium-like alloys as much as he could right now, he began to saw through a piece, hitting a button, it changed into a hammer of some kind. It had a faint blue glow. "Cool changing hammer. I'm going to have to make this for myself later." He thought, the metal in front of him was blazing hot, near turning liquid when Derik struck the metal with the hammer. A small pulse emitted as the metal cooled incredibly with no cracking. "Then maybe..." He muttered, fumbling with the controls, he switched the faint blue glow with that of a green glow, and then a red one. "Likely one for cooling, one for an average hammer, then this one for heat." He figured, hammering away at the curved metal he had now, it glowed reddish as the heat intensified from it and was near perfectly strait. "If I had the opportunity to return it to a more ore-like state it would be better." He thought, finally flattening the metal, he then used the saw to quickly finish cutting off the piece he had begun to take off earlier, then he used the heating hammer to heat the scraps he had now up quite a bit, then bound them and cut out another section, it started to form a Buster-sword style shape blade. His quick progress was mostly due to the unteathering. "Tch. This wouldn't be as shoddy if I had the time to purify it." he thought, still forming the blade. Next, he took some circuitry from the robot, as well as a small power pack stored in it's arms, and wired it together as best as possible. He made the wiring's copper show with some careful cutting, cut a small slot for the battery pack, wrapped the wires around the odd cone-shaped center, then tested the circuit. Once it sparked, Derik bound the wires to the metal.

Next, he tool the buster-sword style blade he had fashioned and carved a slot for the odd object he made moments ago. He shoved the odd shaped thing in best he could, then brought the wire ends he had made for this end to one side He then took a spread of the drill and cut it; it was part of the diamond bit. He fashioned this into a button-like shape, fashioned a small piece of metal onto it, then tested for the electric circuit again. Once it again generated electricity, Derik quickly stripped away at the end of the odd shape he made, it turned into a medium length pole jutting out of the metal, and a large pile of scrap. The pole had a small, rectangular shape towards it's top, which Derik was able to make a small groove into and laid the wire into. He sautered the metal around the wires so that they were held in and could not touch each-other or any metal at all, then he took shreds of the suit he wore underneath his coat and placed it under the exposed wire.Once he was sure it wouldn't activate on it's own, he used the metal scraps from earlier to form a thicker handle cover.

This included the diamond piece in a location that seemed like it was to go over the exposed wire, He then formed a set of small springs and bound them to the diamond-metal area as well as in the relative area of the wires, but not connecting, and placed a small contraption that was able to lock and unlock at the press of a button. Then, he slid the cover on, sautered it to the rest, and used the small amount of remaining metal to make more metal cloth-like his jacket material-and wrapped it around and bound it to the handle, making sure to leave the diamond-button he had made exposed. He tested the current; electricity sparked from the blade's unsharpened edges and the button worked as intended, locking and unlocking at command, he then used the saw to sharpen best he could and the cooling hammer to chill the metal completely. His new weapon was an electric buster sword.

Derik looked at the weapon, not his finest work, but it would do for a few fights at the least. "I name you.... Silver Spark mark one, or S.S.MK.1, for short." The blade was named, a process Derik only did on a weapon he felt could be one of his better ones, as the materials and techniques advanced. But at this time, the SA's were freed. Derik picked his blade up carefully and looked around, wondering what the next step was.

(So in short, all of that occurred within the time the SA's were freed.)

Boom.

It was a boom from faraway, then it turned into a crunch. Then more booms. More crunches. The room jolted, the screens cracked. The elevator was jolted out of position. The sounds drew closer as the rocks and jolts grew more pronounced.

The destruction protocol had engaged.

"Done..." Rytt said. "Looks like we're all untethered. You want files, you want information, first things first, get off this station."

"Second..." Veridyan now. "We aren't friends, we three. You want info? We ain't gonna be all buddy buddy to give it to ya, make it to my ship, I'll show you what you want."

Before anything else could be said, the entire room crumpled around them. The walls broke away with frightening speed. The spacesuit helmets for everyone immediately engaged once the vacuum reached the room. Within moment everyone on the station was simply floating in space in a pile of torn rubble.

3 Ships sat to each direction.

One Red- Elaryse, the confident and straightforward one.

One Blue- Rytt, the personable, yet sarcastic one.

One Green- Veridyan, the spontaneous and jovial one.

Everyone here had allegiances to one of these three, but now was the time to choose for themselves. The next part of the journey was going to go to places not one of them had imagined, and they would be faced with choices they may not be able to find a good answer to. This was the first of many.

It was time to choose.

As the walls fell apart around Ferro, one thought for some reason skimmed across: nice rhyme, Rytt. Ferro cancelled both his portals, then placed one a flat chunk of wall and one on the side of Rytt's ship. He jetted through the portals and stepped into the blue ship's airlock. "I like you, Rytt. Great minds think alike." Ferro left his portals so people could follow him to Rytt's cruiser.

"Feel Rytt may be the more savory of the three, so after the man with the D-ppnage portal his way into the ship, Derik followed right behind. "Hello sir." Derik said as he landed. "My name is Derik. And if I'm to assume right, you are Doctor Ferro, correct?" He asked, extending his hand.

Alex mentally sighed.

"It seems people are siding with Rytt...and of course, I am inclined to side with him, too." Alex muttered, swimming his way through the zero-gravity as he followed Ferro and one of the others.

I hope in the end of all of this, Rytt is not some traitor, or goes rampant. Alex thought, landing in the safety of Rytt's ship.

Ferro reached out with his D-ppendage, grasped Derik's hand with the claw, and shook. "Pleasure to have you with. And I'm not a doctor, so please, just Ferro." Ferro eyed Derik's breaker blade. He had seen him fighting earlier. He would be a valuable companion. As Alex arrived in the airlock, Ferro asked, "How's your arm doing?"
