I think there was something about having to make a finishing move to kill it, so make it was that... I don't know, don't have the game and can't remember that much about the game... It's been a while

That would suck too,but at least Sephiroth is fun to fight unlike phantom

That's weird. I'd suggest burning your game then buying a new one. I haven't had that happen

I'm thinking so. I thought Kurt Zisa was a pain in the butt to fight, but jeez.. Phantom makes me just want to give up. I know he's an optional boss, but I want the dang trophy.

The second time around my last hit wasn't a finisher, it was like the first hit in the combo. He just wasn't feeling it the firs time i guess

Edit: Phantom is extremely easy compared to Kurt! Even the final Ansem fight is literally 10x harder as long as you know the strategy.

 

All you have to do is stock up on elixers, make sure to use a blade that raises MP, keep the clock stopped the entire battle by casting stop on it every minute or so, move to a different side of the clock as soon as he starts casting his cheap blast so it can't hit you while you line-of-sight it, and you shouldn't die at all as long as you have Second Chance. Once you do those 3 things, it's a cake walk.

I like it. It's good to have a relaxing fight after the final Ansem...I hated those freaking lazer beams so much....lol

Amen my friend. He's really not too hard if you know his pattern but at a lower level he's extremely annoying. Not hard, just annoying.

No matter how well you're doing in that ansem fight, you keep getting rammed by those lasers. I'm always wailing on Ansem from behind and you're almost completely safe but those laser annoyingly track you down. Not hard when you have leaf bracer but honestly, most ppl try to beat the game before reaching high levels for the challenge and sometimes leaf bracer isn't available. For me I don't go for lvl 100 until I'm fighting the other bosses

My boyfriend actually ended up doing this fight for me, and he even managed to keep Goofy alive the whole time. I was getting too frustrated with it, but I really wanted to get stopga. I stocked him up on ethers and only had 1 elixir. MP was at 18 and HP was around 105 or so. I'm sure I could have beat it, but knowing me I'd get too flustered and do the wrong spell and die. It's just a really tedious fight especially having to keep on going back to the clock tower and also trying not to get slashed.

lol it's easier than it seems! As long as you keep the clock stopped, and you go behind the clock when he casts his blast, no one dies. :]

 

But yeah...Extremely tedious. I hated how he moved around so much. But Sephiroth is testing my patience. >:[
