Am I the only person who uses these forums who simply cannot stand the fact that the only noise that almost all of the Pokémon make in the English-dubbed Anime series is constantly repeating their own names? Though I am sure that there are others, the only Pokémon in the Anime that I factually know do not constantly repeat their own names are Starmie, Mewtwo, Entei and Tropius. I am being entirely serious when I say that the fact that they constantly repeat their own names is the main reason for why I stopped watching the English-dubbed Anime series. The fact that Pikachu is having its in-game cry replaced with its Anime cry is very unfortunate to me, despite the fact that I do not particularly like Pikachu. I find the Anime "cries" of Pokémon to be so embarrassing to listen to that I feel like I am on the verge of imploding when I listen to them.

Am I alone on that opinion, or do other users of this website think similarly to me?

Honestly, Pokemon has done the same thing for so long that i don't even care any more....

Yes you are.

wait does the japanese version not do that?

I think that was a tad melodramatic man haha Honestly though, I got use to it so it doesn't bother me.

The problem to be honest is within the English dub(Hitmonlee's cry made me laugh so hard)

But the Japanese cries are totally fine....in fact except Pikachu,Gengar and some others.....most of the Pokemon in the Japanese dub don't repeat their names

So yeah I think you should watch the Japanese dub

But I seriously got used to it and it doesn't bother me that much

It isn't that big of a deal as you think it is since it's more of a dubbing studio problem rather than being a problem within the games or the anime

Oh and before I finish, please don;'t think that my comment is patronizing you

It can be cute but can get annoying after awhile yeah.

Squirttle Squirttle. ( It doesn't bother me one bit because that's what i was use to from the anime)

Fool. It's what I'm used to. The noises they make in the video games don't make much sense anyway. Go Taurus! jshgknbvksj. Go Nidoking! dgsnlrgnlshre.

That does not mean that the cries cannot sound good. Personally, I do not think that Nidoking's cry is that bad.

That is good to know.

I do not think that you are patronising me for the time being.

i think the only annoying thing is when the characters hear a pokemon say its own name, and then they ask "what pokemon is it?" or "i think its a (whatever it just said)"

I do not think that I would have such a major problem with it if the fact that they constantly repeat their own names was not so unrealistic in contrast to real-world animals. I think that the only real animals that are named after the noise that they make are a few species of birds, and nothing else.

your not the only one dude.

I don't see how that could affect you lol, but a lot of people are annoyed by the littlest of things. But yes you are the only person I know who has that opinion.

I think it's cute. But y'know, I barely watch the show anymore, I really only watch the movies and specials.

Some of the movies are very very good

My favorite movies are:

The First Movie(I used to hate it but it grew on me)

the Mewtwo's Return special(I consider it a movie)

The Entei & Unown movie

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew

Dialga,Palkia and the Rise of Darkrai

Zoroark Master of Illusion

mmmmmmmmmm I'm still mixed about Arceus and the Jewel of Life but it was kinda good

I could care less as I'll never go back to watching the anime. Maybe the movies, but those are getting intolerable with Ash.

I didn't notice Japan has them say their names less often. It would explain the BW2 promo. (Serperior ftw) Then there's those who talk in the movie. In the Japanese version of the movie Darkrai premiered on, his voice was badass.

What about the Pokémon Ranger movie? I thought that one was cool. But yeah, the Darkrai one is my favorite.

You mean the one with Giratina????

I haven't watched it yet but I'll give it a shot

I don't watch the anime anymore, but when I did, it didn't really bother me.

but that one Pokemon movie with Latios and Latias, the sound that they made was really annoying to me.

That was hilarious.....couldn't stop laughing at Kricketune's cry
