Does anyone here think that The World Ends With You needs a sequel, or a prequel? I remember reading a rumour that Nomura was considering creating one, but I am not sure whether this was denied or confirmed, and there was the picture of the unidentified girl at the end of the game's tablet version, which hinted that the franchise could have a proper future. The appearance of alternate-dimension versions of the game's main cast in Dream Drop Distance shows that the franchise is not being left alone as well.
Personally, I think that a sequel/prequel that does not contain the same characters, but has a similar art style and atmosphere, is a necessity. Though I never played the game, and my memory of a walkthrough of the game that I watched is extremely foggy, I believe that the franchise deserves a future.
I would like this thread to be deleted if a similar thread has already been created.
