So what exactly was Sora near the end of Kh to the beginning of KH2

Posted

Near the end of Kingdom Hearts Sora in Hollow Bastion stabs himself with the keyblade that's formed from the Princesses of Heart's hearts and he becomes a heartless (temporarily) and when Kairi hugs him he's back to himself; I have a question though does he have half of his heart, and he didn't get the other half back until the beginning of KH2 when Roxas went back to him or did Ven's heart leave instead (which we all know is why Roxas looks like Ven), or was he half-Heartless or Nobody/ half human??

No, Sora was pretty much a walking heart. His entire heart was kept with him, thus why Roxas doesn't look like Sora at all (and took Ven's instead).

Technically, he was in Castle Oblivion, and then was forced into a year-long sleep.

He was given a "Projected Physical Shell" by Kairi; he was essentially a heart with a fake body.

Roxas still had some of Sora's memories inside him while he was in the Virtual Twilight Town, but Namine took the memories from Roxas' heart and returned them to Sora's.

Actually there is a theory that says Sora was a heartless since he stabbed himself at Hollow Bastion...but like Xehanort's Heartless(Ansem SoD) he managed to keep his human form as an Emblem Heartless....which is what Axel said to Larxene in Re:Chain of Memories

He became a full human when he united with Roxas at the beginning of KH2

Sora was basically what would be called a "Pseudo Heartless", a person who turned into a Heartless but was able to be restored without fusing with his Nobody. Since Sora didn't fuse with Roxas until KH2, Sora was basically human but wasn't whole, so he could still technically be considered a Heartless. In a way, he was "artificially" restored. It makes sense...it's just still confusing is all. Much of Kingdom Hearts is like that.

That is not what happened. Because Sora willingly became a Heartless, he managed to retain his sentience and memories. When Kairi hugged him, she used her "Princess Magic" to give him a human form.

If you read the beginning of my post...I said it was a theory

Second of all,yes he maintained his human form thanks to Kairi, but so Did Ansem SoD who also willingly became a heartless when he was an apprientace and  maintained his human form after becoming a heartless....which is what Axel said to Larxene in Castle Oblivion during a conversation.

The theory is not applicable if it has already been disproven within the series.

What form Ansem SoD was in before using Riku's body for his own has not been confirmed. It could have been the same, or it could have been him appearing as a normal-looking Heartless.

He had gotten his heart back when he and Kairi came into contact. After KH 1 he went into Castle Oblivion and Sora lost his memories of Kairi. These were his most powerful memories that he held closest to his heart. Namine was restoring the memories into their rightful chain and some of them were missing. The memories flowed into Roxas and so Sora couldn't wake up. Roxas gave back Sora's memories of Kairi which he needed to wake up. Roxas didn't have Sora's heart, he actually had Ven's heart. He gave Ven's heart back to Sora, too, when he joined him

In Chain of Memories and Days, it is suggested that Sora was actually fine without Roxas at first. Though the part of him that is Roxas was missing, it wasn't absolutely necessary that he get him back. But over time, Roxas started to absorb Sora's memories (because of Namine messing with his memories in Castle Oblivion), and those memories got trapped inside of Xion, too. Then it was suddenly imperative that Sora get those memories back.

It was also implied that Namine COULD have taken the time to sort out Sora's memories and remove them from Roxas and Xion, but that it would have taken a LONG time. So in the end, Namine, DiZ, and Riku decided that the quickest solution was for Roxas and Xion to both be returned to Sora.

At least, this is what I got out of it.
