Well we all know Pokémon has grown from a small anime/game series into a franchise that drives fans rabid today but right from 1993/95 to 2013, we've had a series of genwunning tsunamis and 'lack of innovation' rants.

 

And with the release of the Pokemon X and Y series, what do you feel about franchise on scale from its first release?

 

I dont want to make it a Genwunning post but I think the series quite lost a bit of its charm over the ages, from the anime to the games, but on a whole, I completely left out the anime. And since I havent owned X/Y yet, by the looks of it, I think its awesome.

 

Long story short: Do you think Pokémon is shit today On a scale from the top to bottom, how do you still like the franchise?

pokemon died in johto league to me. But i loved to see Mega Charizard in pokemon origins special.

The X and Y pokemon are all soo cute and cool! Espesally Delphox and the fairies!

They meant the games not the anime

XY Anime has yet to come out so not going to rate that yet...

 

XY however, so far, I'm going to give it a 9.5/10. It's not as good as BW in terms of story but it has better features and gameplay so it's tied with Gen V has my most favourite generation. 

I think the series now in terms of games is at it's best

 

Sure the story of XY isn't as epic as BW 1 (seriously Team Plasma is the best evil team) but the gameplay from what I've seen looks as fun as BW 2 or even better

 

 

the XY anime hasn't arrived yet so it's early for me to judge Ash's next adventure.

 

But overall,I think Pokemon has improved a lot and in terms of games I think the franchise is at it;s best now compared to previous gen

 

I won't get myself stuck in the Gen 1 illusion like most of the genwunners because I learned to appreciate the new designs over time

 

In fact,Pokemon is one of the few(if not the only)RPG's that remained true to it's roots and improved over the years Unlike some other RPGs that stayed far away from what made it great in the first place(Looking at you shitty Final Fantasy XIII)

Gen 5 is also my favorite Gen with gen 2 coming veeeeeery close to it ^_^
