Ok so I was reading the Directors Secret Report XIII, and Nomura said the period of Riku's absence is one of the four untold stories. The other three untold stories that were eventually told are the period of the Kings absence (KH Coded), Xehanorts past (BBS), and Roxas's time with the Org. (KH Days). I was thinking in the next upcoming game (whichever one it is), the one that Nomura said that the main character will be someone that has been a central character, but not main. So I thought, it has to be Riku. What do you guys think about this?

I am saying that he has been a central character throughout the series, and they might make a game that takes place during his absence between CoM and Days.

The thing about Kairi is that she didn't even have a Keyblade until Riku gave her that one in the World That Never Was. She really didn't do anything but go to school and forget about Sora everyday lol. Then again, we don't know EXACTLY what happened with her after KH, so it would be interesting in that aspect.

Well we know that Kairi can use the the keyblade because of Aqua so it may be Kairi you play as but Riku is more likely so it explains what happened it the World of Darkness between him and Mickey

She'd have to actually get a Keyblade before she becomes a main playable character though

 

I'm guessing it's these possibilities:

1. Young MX/ME game

2. A game showing the gap between BBS and KH1

3. Dark Realm game

4. Riku game

Plus I don't think Nomura wants to make Kairi a "fighter". She seems to be just like Namine, in the background but essential at the same time. There probably won't be need for her to actually fight until Sora and co. look for Aqua, Terra and Ven.

Well I'm not sure if it's going to be exactly that but I think its about time Riku got his own game. He is a very important character in the story.

 

But I also think its time they get back to the main story line (KH3), all these spin off titles are starting to get annoying.

 

Well the spin-offs are good games but what I mean is that we've been waiting for Kh3 for over 5 years and we are getting plot fillers instead. But alas they are important holes in the story filled and answers a lot of questions.

Yeah I agree with you. I also made a thread about this very topic a while ago. In my thread, I posted how I think, well be playing as mickey, or xanehort. Cause rikus absence- com, and re com. Roxas- 358/2 days. Xanehort- kind of bbs, but I think there will be a game with xanehort as the playable character, and one with mickey.
