I think Riku's related to Xehanort, I mean they both come from Destiny Islands and have gray hair (well Xehanort DID before going bald >.>), I know it's a stretch but I feel like it could easily be some plot twist Nomura would use- I mean Ansem SoD was able to possess him, and the rules of time travel dictate you can only possess a version of yourself- maybe that applies to relatives of the individual as well... o.O But that whole time travel thing confuses me still to this day so I could be completely off xDx

or maybe he could be related to terra in some way

 kairi's grandmother

kairi's grandmother.

Her grandmother

Oh yea...Kinda forgot about her lol (Im tired, thats probably why ;P). P.s: I didn't mean Ansem was related to her, i said that becuase alot of people have the theroy that she is.

O.o Terra being Riku's brother, or Xehanort being Terra's father- Young Xehanort looks like Terra, and something must've happened to Terra, Aqua, and Ven's parents seeing as how Terra and Aqua are training with Eraqus with no mention of their parents, and Ven's with Xehanort with no mention of his parents either- come to think of it, apart from Sora's Mom (assumingly), Sora's dad (Riku mentions him in BbS) and Kairi's grandmother, none of the KH characters have any mentioned blood family whatsoever! xDx

Well, since Ansem the Wise was the "King" of Radiant Garden and Kairi was the princess, wouldn't that make Ansem her father?

Sora's mother, we heard her in KH1 but she never appeared after that.

I would like some clarification on if Sora even ever went back to his family home after KHII. As far as the game wants us to understand, Sora and Riku may as well have lived on that island the entire time between KHII and DDD. Wouldn't their parents have something to say about them being sent to risk their lives again? The fact that that's not even an issue leads me to believe they never even returned home. That seriously bothers the crap out of me that it's never explained.

Funny thing is Sora never got that dinner in KH 1 when her mother called her for dinner. LOL

I personally don't care to see their family.  They were deemed unimportant to the actual plot in KH1 when we didn't see any of their faces (typically a move done in all sorts of media, if the person isn't necessary to the story they don't waste time animating them for the sake of it).  Only characters I want to see that haven't been shown are Pixar ones, any Pixar movie, I'll be happy.

Just cause she has the title Princess of Heart doesn't mean she is an actual Princess, the same way Alice has the title PoH and she is not a princess, so Kairi can have the title and not have any royal heritage at all in her so that kinda debunks that theory "well she's a princess, he's a king, must be family".  And Ansem was the ruler of RD, not the King, meaning no royalty ties even if he is in some way connected to Kairi.  The princesses of heart are also referred to as Maiden's of Light, so you might as well just forget the title since Princess is not more than a status for someone who is pure light, not a royal status whether by wedlock or  birth.

I think they did return home but not for long, but really if you think about the parents how can they really stop them from going off when they have freaking magic, weapons, and a space-defying gummi ship (plus other modes of transportation)

Also in action rpgs, parents aren't like normal parents who'd care about their safety and prevent them cause that would halt the story.  They see it's what they have to do and worry from afar.

That makes a lot more sense.

Nomura has already said he has no interest in using family ties involved in the plot and that none of the main cast are related which is why you only hear casual mentions of family here and there like Sora's mom,  Riku mentioning parents, and Kairi's grandmother. Kairi isn't related to Ansem and she's not the princess of RG - She's a PoH. There is a difference.

The main focus in KH has always been friendship - not family or even romance.
