Cucco 1,907 Posted November 9, 2013 remember the secret ending of dirge of cerberus? genesis awoke, grabbed weiss's corpse, his awesome black wing opened, and he said "it is time my brother". then he flew away. a lot of people seem to forget about this(and doc in general), when i'm still expecting that epic sequel that the secret ending suggested... 1 Dio Brando reacted to this
Varnish 319 Posted November 9, 2013 Not to worry. The series has not been active for quite a while, but it is definitely not dead.

BlackAceZero777 77 Posted November 9, 2013 It should be called VII-3 or 4 since Advent Children is a sequel in itself and Dirge of Cerberus came after....Something like Final Fantasy VII: Genesis or something like that...
Cucco 1,907 Posted November 9, 2013 Not to worry. The series has not been active for quite a while, but it is definitely not dead. yeah, i thinks its because most people want a remake instead of a proper conclusion to the series. dont fix what isnt broken VII is done mate. not according to the doc secret ending

Agree with you here the reason people forgot about the secret ending is because they hated Dirge of Cerberus....I personally loved Dirge of Cerberus it's possible to make VII-2 and I want to see VII-2 happening, but a lot of people think Square has milked the FFVII continuity way too much with all the spin-offs,movies and OVAs 1 Cucco reacted to this

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted November 9, 2013 Maybe, but I would still like to see that remake of the original they half-promised us first. THEN I would like to see the sequel that is supposed to tie all of this stuff together, and I hope it does just that, because everything feels so scattered from the original game. I love all of the spin-offs, but I feel like they distance themselves from each other way too much. So to repeat myself: Remake first, sequel second! Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted November 9, 2013 That anime was official? Lol. Well the games are all great. FINAL FANTASY XV. Well that anime DID get turned into a prequel game...and an extra scene in the movie. But yeah, in terms of VII ever getting a remake, much hinges on Final Fantasy XV, which I feel very concerned about when I think about all of those stubborn older fans who are complaining that they aren't sticking to the traditional turn-based system anymore. It's people like that who are going to keep this dream from ever becoming a reality!

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted November 9, 2013 I love XIII's gameplay. Same here! Even if it was a little difficult to get used to at first, I still found myself scrambling to get to the correct commands at the last second, just like in every other Final Fantasy game. Why is it that people always notice the differences in things before the similarities?

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted November 9, 2013 I think the question is: Why do people hate change? I had no issues with commands. The final boss battles were easy. i had issues with hope being a little bitch and not healing me. that was about it I think it just comes from the childish assumption that change is bad. When you're potty trained, people don't have to clean up after you anymore. When you move, you leave all your friends behind. When you get older, you have to give up all of those things that you loved so much. It's all of these personal experiences that, while they are all very common, are still just PERSONAL. To cling to such a concept and apply it to things that affect everyone else is very subjective, as well as very one-sided. Change has to happen so that things will reach their full potential, because while things would have worked fine if we stayed as babies, we would never have reached our full potential if we never grew up. Likewise, if games and other things don't do that, they won't reach their full potential either. If Sonic stayed in 2D, than he would never have been brought to more recent titles that REALLY showed off his speed. And Sonic still has 2D games, heck, there are 2D portions put in there so that they could please everybody! And even though games like Mega Man never really made it to the 3D world, they still had lots of changes made to them over the years, even if their dimensional format hasn't. Change can be hard to accept, and it doesn't always seem to benefit anybody, but that doesn't mean it is inherently bad, it's just nature. The good or the bad is determined by us and how we perceive change, which isn't always accurate. There is a difference between being nostalgic and being a stubborn whiny brat/old mule who won't accept the new.
RoxSox 3,593 Posted November 9, 2013 If they got their shit together and released a remake of VII, and it sold well (which it would) and it had good reception, seeing a sequel to it wouldn't be out of the question. But as of right now, getting the series back into peoples heads is infinitely more important then making a sequel to it. Do you know how ENRAGED fans would become if they came out on stage, and said: "Coming to you straight from TGS, Final Fantasy VII... 2!" - Satan The outcry of rage would be astronomical. I have no issue with change as long as the change makes sense I loved the battle system in XIII,problem is everything else is shit Again I like change, but there is a difference between change and putting a bacon in a milkshake, and then gift rap the milkshake Edited November 9, 2013 by Metal Snake
