So, I was dressed as Sora Final Form. Walkin' around the convention yesterday. Was just chilling, then started talking to this Sephiroth cosplayer. IDK how, but we got on the topic of Nobodies, then joked that Sephiroth was a Nobody. We then joked that if he was the Nobody, then Cloud was the Heartless. Then smeone asked "Well who would be the somebody?"

 

I then had this brilliant idea.

 

Zack Fair.

 

I converted the Sephiroth to this headcannon, then a Maka cosplayer.

 

So, my reasons are few but w/e.

FIRST OFF! We never see Zack Fair after Birth By Sleep. Ten years of not a word, not a mention. Zack's just GONE. Who instead is there ten years later?

Cloud Strife.

 

Who else?

 

Sephiroth.

 

Let's see...

 

• "Cloud... you'll never let go of the darkness."
  — to Cloud when he arrives to confront Sephiroth.
• "You'll never let go of your past"
  — to Cloud as the two prepare to battle.
• "Absurd. Defeating me is meaningless. You know that more than anyone, Cloud."
  — during the battle.
• "No matter how many times I fall, your darkness keeps calling me back!"
  — during the battle.
• "You can't. He'll never let go of the darkness."
  — to Tifa when she tries to help Cloud.
• "Let's see what this light of yours can do."
  — directing his attacks to Tifa.
• "The light doesn't suit you."
  — after Tifa offers Cloud her light.

So.

 

Cloud can't let go of the Darkness. Sephiroth keeps coming back.

 

Cloud has never died so we don't know what happens when Cloud and Sephiroth are dead at the same time (not that Sephiroth has died in KH).

 

 

Yes I know it's kinda weak and probably has more holes then swiss cheese, but it's something I thought of. Just wanted to share (and maybe continue spreading my headcannon Mwahahaha >: D )

So after reading this I have one question.......Does that mean when they clashed in KH2 and disappeared they killed each other and reformed Zack Fair?

The world may never know...... Unless you work at square enix in which case you probably know and wont tell anyone. So yeah..... NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!

although i like your theory, it doesn't explain why cloud and sephiroth look completely different from each other if the theory were to be true. the nobody must look like the somebody (the only exception being roxas but his is legit)

Given Sephiroth's obsession with being not only unique, but dominant, I think the knowledge that he's a Nobody (not only half of a person, but not even unique in his own existence) would send him on a killing spree that would make Nibelhiem look like a pool party.

namine has the differences because she isn't a normal nobody. she's a product of both kairi and sora. and perhaps sora's darkness had an appearance effect on her.
