Sword Art Online: Another Log-In (Roleplay Thread)

Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

(Thank you. :3)

Wolf thought for a moment then nodded.

"Alright." She grinned. "It'll be fun with more people like you around." She looked at the random guy that appeared behind Abisk, then saw his name. Aether.

"Um. Who's he?" Wolf asked Kei.

(Aether's a girl. xD)

"Her? That's... Aether?" Kei was surprised to see that Aether had shown up. "What are you doing here, Aether?" She asked. She looked back at Wolf, and whispered again. "She's a beta tester who helped us out earlier... Her and Abisk seem to know each other. She's a solo player though, so we don't see her much..."

(Oops.)

Wolf raised an eye brow and looked at Aether.

"A beta tester, hm?" Wolf muttered. She was a beta tester herself, but she wasn't going to say anything about it.

Abisk blushed slightly when Kei looked at him.

Abisk's first reaction was to turn around with hand on his Anneal Blade, but noticing it was Aether, he relaxed a little. "I haven't hit the cap yet. I'm taking my time, most people won't be to whatever the cap is for a while, anyway, and you remember the first boss, it took somewhere near one-hundred Beta Tester's to beat the first one, even with good amount of revivals and retry's allowed. We have to hope that either a large number of fighters get to the cap or a small group of very-skilled players take it on, but the number would still have to be somewhere near thirty-five. I think. unless we got some special Sword Skills developed and the best equipment this floor has to offer, even still...." He thought it over. "Next time, don't sneak up on me." he added.

"Next time, up your detection." Aether said, smirking. "Anyways. It was more like twenty, not one hundred. And yeah, the amount of revivals and retries were ridiculous. But now we have advanced warning. And..." She paused. "We know what we'll be dealing with."

She then looked at Wolf. "Yeah, Beta Tester. Why? Got a problem with me?" She asked, slightly on edge.

Wolf tensed slightly at Aether's gaze to her. She wanted to tell her that she was a Beta Tester too, but she didn't feel it was the right time.

"No. I don't." Wolf muttered and put her hands behind her head.

"Next time you'll be dead like a boar in the hunting grounds outside the Town of Beginning's." Abisk shot back, placing his hand back on his Anneal Blade's handle when her tone took an edge. "I think it may be best we part way's here and now, at least until the boss." He said, keeping an eye on her as he said to Kei and Wolf "Go. I'll meet you outside."

Wolf nodded and followed Kei out of the restaurant, giving a slight warning glare at Aether before walking out the door, her hands in her pockets.

She nodded to Kei. "Bye."

Ignoring Wolf's glare, she looked to Abisk. "Has anyone come trying to cause problems and get everyone to hate the Beta Testers?" She asked. "I had a pair of idiots try and complain to me outside of town as I came back. I was...concerned your...party would be targeted if this...frustration with Beta Testers was not an isolated incident." She actually blushed. "Don't go handing out my charity."

She brushed past him. "And there aren't any boars outside the Town of Beginnings by now anyways. Even you gotta admit some people would actually go through the night to hunt and train."

"All right, let's go" Lock responded, and walked out of the inn to the town's main plaza. He was surprised by just how many people had already made it to the town. [Wow, we really need to pick up the pace.] Lock thought, when he saw a man standing outside the carpenter's shop with a quest bubble over his head.

"Oh good, help has arrived! Last night my shop was robbed by some monsters. They stole three of my wood carvings. Do you think you could retrieve them for me? I'll be happy to compensate you with 800 Gil and some rope." the man, who apparently was the carpenter, said.

Lock turned toward Vash and Black, "What do you guys think, should we take the quest?"

"Yes! lets go!" Vssh said  eagerly.

"Well let´s go, Anyway.. Abisk and Kei Should have a lot to talk today" Black said enthusiastic

"All right then, we'll help you." Lock said the the carpenter.

"Oh, thank you! You should be able to find the thieving monsters not too far away from town, near some rock formations due west from here. But be careful, they're good at hiding, and are very quick." The carpenter said.

"Okay, good to know. We'll be back soon. Come on guys, we've got some thieves to catch." Lock said, and began heading west towards the quest.

Abisk ignored her blush and glared at her. "No. No issues. We've been fine." Abisk replied, stepping to the door. "You don't have to worry about us." He replied, stepping out the door. "Sorry. I'm not taking chances, not for right now. Even if that "Elyna" character is reminding me of the Beta Tester that had the title "Hollow Death". If she is also Hollow Death, I need to keep vigilant." He finished, stepping outside into the fresh air, shutting the door behind him. "Okay. Kei, you said you wanna go check on the others, and since Wolf needs a room we should go to the inn next."

The title "The Hollow Death" made her stop.

"You're joking." She actually looked...uneasy. "You know how hard it was to get a title during the Beta. Hell, I barely got one, and I wasn't even trying." She frowned. "Abisk. Are you sure? If The Hollow Death is here..." Aether turned back around fully. "Keep your friends close. I don't know if Hollow Death will play this as real...or if they'll live up to their name."

Aether slipped past Abisk. "Forgot. Did you manage a title?"

"You should know. You gave it to me after we had our last Duel." Abisk thought, deciding to answer. "The Silent Swordsman." He answered as she slipped past him. "If the rumors are true, regardless of if she thinks its real or not, she only had one thought in her mind: kill." He thought, looking around, trying to make sure that just the thought of the deadly enemy could make her materialize.

Abisk followed Kei, upon her question, he replied "No, knowing them Lock is stalking Aether, Vash is spurting lines he shouldn't know and trying to win you over and Black is making "potions" they probably went out to adventure around, maybe take on one of the quests in-town. They'll be back, I'm sure." He said, booking a room for Wolf. Handing her a key(when she gets there of course), he said "Go settle in and rest if you need."

"Silent Swordsman versus the Black Icarus. Heh." She smiled softly. "We'll need to redo that. Stupid server outages."

Aether watched as Abisk walked away, then slipped out of the area, and decided to scale a building.

Best way to be alone.

"Alright, the inn it is, then!" Kei went to the inn, and looked around. "Seems like the others left... You think they ditched us?" She looked a little nervous.

(You guys are going too fast!//shot)

Wolf grabbed the key from Abisk and nodded.

"Thanks." She said and put it away. She looked around.

"So. Who are your other team mates?" She asked.

"They seem to be out, likely doing a quest of some kind." Abisk answered. "Or maybe trying to enjoy what they can here..."

Wolf nodded and opened up her menu, going to the group names.

"Vash..? Hm... A strange name. But I'm not one to speak." Wolf said and chuckled, closing her menu. She looked at the two.

"Welp. I'm gonna go see if I can practice some before we start getting into some real fighting." Wolf said and grinned, walking off.

Elyna was running, heading outside of the towns gates to head to the location of the boss but she then saw 3 players (Black, Lock & Vash) in front of her with their backs facing her as they were walking in the same direction. Elyna then noticed "Hey, those are the other players that where with Abisk & Keimei in that forest. Why do I seem to run into these players so much? wait a sec, I have an idea, hee hee" thought Elyna as she ran right behind Vash jumping off his head & doing a backflip & landing facing all 3 of them "Well, well, it looks like we met again you 3 greenies haha. I don't believe we got to introduce ourselves before. My name is Elyna, a former beta tester & my title is 'The Dragon striker'. I'm gonna propose a little deal to you lot soooo LISTEN UP!" said Elyna getting their attention "First of all, I have the location of the boss & I can lead you straight there in return for helping me with killing it....this will be a temporally truce, what do you think?" said Elyna as she then took out a golden delicious apple & took a bite out of it before throwing it just above her left shoulder as Ray her little green dragon's head stretched out from her brown cloak & ate the rest of the golden apple in one bite right before it went back under her brown cloak coiling up around her body.

Aether was watching the conversation between Elyna and the trio with mild interest.

"Hrmph. Wonder what's going on."

Jumping to another building, she worked her way forward until she was on a roof at the edge of the town.

leaping down, she hurried forward and into the forest, using the cover of the trees to get closer.

As the got ready to fight; someone who already has an orange cursor barely a day into the game...well..it's not good. Not good at all."
